agreed. but blu-ray doesn't compete. physical media vs. digital/downloadable are two very different formats, issues to incorporate. they still have dvd players, why not upgrade to blu-ray and just make it happen. i would buy a mini in a second if it could do blu-ray. especially now with photo and tv show syncing through itunes, it's almost a new apple TV with all the function of a computer. just one more step . . . blu ray!!

For real. I have a Blu-ray drive in my Mac Pro that burns physical data for backups but I have to run Windows 7 to use it for video. With Final Cut now supporting Blu-ray (or so I've read), I'm surprised Apple simply hasn't thrown in the towel and added Blu-ray. ITunes high-definition still does not compete with Blu-ray.

I don't mean to get everyone angry, but to me it was just a waste. When iPhone or G5 came out, that was special.

I think so too. I'm expecting a design overhaul of the iPhone and iPod Touch lineup next year, as this year they were both left alone (besides the spec bumps).

Haha, ya, +1 if the Nano doesn't have HD Radio, the touch updates were crap, I was gonna head out and purchase the 3g Touch ASAP too

I was going to buy a classic if it had a hard drive over 200 gigs and or a touch if it wasn't 400 bucks for a 64 gig.. I love the space but hate the prices right now.. I could really give a crap about a camera in there

did they say the touch was going to ship immediately? my guess is with rumors of production issues, they will delay shipment for a couple weeks after order, then when ready, push them out the doors with an announcement that the touch has the camera. they just didn't want to publicly acknowledge a problem with assembly.
