I think this just points out the difference between the platforms. The Touch has been positioned as a mini-computer that is also a gaming device. And a good way to consume video content.

Seems like the Nano is the flagship iPod. Without Wi-Fi, Safari, Apps, and the like, the Nano needs features that will keep buyers in that platform. So, here comes the video camera, FM tuner, built-in Nike+, etc.

All of this makes sense to me.

Makes NO sense to me. Why would I want to buy a new iPod Touch to replace my 16gb? I think apple's christmas business will suffer from people NOT replacing their current Touch.

Apple, I am underwhelmed... I you care to know...

What doesn't make sense is that a lower-end model has something a higher-end, significantly more expensive model doesn't.

Okay, here's an anti-whine for ya...

I was seriously considering a refurb 4th gen nano a few days ago. Well, scratch that-- the new nano is definitely worth the "new price" premium. Better yet, I have a half-day off Friday afternoon, so hello, Apple Store! I needed to go anyway; I haven't been there in a while.

(My condolences to you Touch hopefuls, by the way.)

why people are so cranky about the 'rock and roll' keynote ...

as a long term mac user (10 years +) I think I have a idea of why people are so cranky about the keynote.

checkout the link below to youtube of the G4 powerbook keynote :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMrc__wt7KA

now that was a amazing keynote.

does a modified ipod nano, reduce price on ipods, updates on iphone and itunes call for a keynote - I think not. And are these the kind of things that should bring Steve Jobs back on the stage after his illness - No.

Apple standards are truly dropping.

Well attacking a new market are we Apple...

Personally I think they'll end up destroying Flip with a move like that. Though Flip does have an HD model...I think its a smart move not to put a camera on the iPod touch, this would boost sales on nano's for sure and keep the iPhone and iPod touch separate in key selling features.

But I expect this type of things from iPods, can I see something interesting in other Apple products please.

"Well-well look. I already told you! I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?!? "

Office Space FTW!!
