I don't get why everybody is disappointed, there are a few big\cool updates being announced, even though everybody knew about them being released today, isn't it cool to finally see it being announced, and seeing pictures??

i'm dissappointed with the base specs. is that 2.0 c2d not SR? only the 2.4 is? why would they do that?

Will the haters STOP COMPLAINING?

Geez, if you don't like it, get a Dell. Period.

:apple:

You're missing the point: we complain precisely because we love Apple product. And we also set a [usually ridik] high bar, so whenever we think Apple's stds are fledgling, we are the first to speak out

But dont confuse love with hate. Anyway, the new .Mac still blows

dude, look at the pics below. The screen cuts off the rest of the keyboard. I imaging the shot was panning out of the keyboard to show the whole thing but the guy took the pic before it had fully panned out. Hope that helps :)

I don't think so, you can clearly see the edge of the right side of the keyboard. It's exactly the same width as the edge on the left. That's a pretty big coincidence they just happened to snap a photo at precisely the exact moment to make it look like the keyboard ended there.

The new .Mac looks the same as the older version...

Does the inclusion of an "ATI HD Graphics Card" in the new iMacs mean that they're bridging the gap between the iMacs and the Mac Pros? I'm new to Apple, so I'm not really sure about this. Seems like the iMacs are supposed to be "Pros" for average consumers.

So much complaining. This update is really good. The iMac design was already ahead of it's time back in 2002. This new iMac is ultra slim and just as powerful as most desktops out there. Not to mention it looks slick.

If you don't like it, don't buy it? There's always those other computer companys.

I like it enough. I don't see any real issues with it. I just don't think it's enough to make me replace my current 20" Core Duo iMac yet. People with pre-Intel hardware though may be motivated to replace at this time.

As much complaining there is, there is an equal amount of people liking it.

Also seems to be an equal amount of people complaining about complaining.

It's not a bad thing people are saying they don't like certain things. Not everyone (not saying you are) is an apple fanboy who likes EVERYTHING that apple comes out with. I don't know why people get a stick up their a*s about people complaining about apple products, you cannot satisfy everyone, everyone (should) know(s) that.

Scratch the companies, people who don't like the iMac have other options and can buy different computer's from Apple...

I agree. Mac Mini proved to be a sales failure and now it will be killed off. Steve even talked about the reasons all-in-one is the only way to go with a consumer desktop.

My point is after weeks of people posting about wanting new iMacs, why post that you would like them in a topic generating a new page every few minutes. It's not even like Steve's just announced their death.

I am disappointed we didn't at least get the C2E. It'll probably cost an arm and a leg to upgrade to 2.8GHz... usually processor speed bumps are the least noticeable (after ram, vidram, etc).

uh, that second shot *is* the full keyboard. but thanks anyway.

Also, on the one on the right there is a forehead above the keys where batteries will go on the wireless, not on the one on the left.

Not with the arrows under the shift key - they'd be off to the right some more.

I'm bummed - i was planning on getting a BT keyboard of the new variety - but only with a number pad.

UGH.

10 Gig isn't nearly enough. He's talking about putting albums and dvd quality video up there... Need more disk.

Is the .Mac worth the price now with 10gb storage?

.mac has always been worth it if you have more than one computer.

I cannot live without the iDisk and the bookmark and mail syncing. For less than 2 US dollars a week (the price of a decent cup of coffee) .mac is a steal.

Apple are just dumb, they should offer it for 8.99 a month and they would get more subscribers.

True. I'm guessing Apple won't sell any of them. Because the slimmer box, better materials, faster processor, and new iLife along with the reduced prices will likely appeal to no one.
Yep - the faster processor, 1TB available drive space, newer ATI HD 2600 card, 4GB ram, trimmer case - these things will f*cking bomb.

...;)
