it was all over the tech sites a couple of weeks ago that at&5 was going to charge upgrade fees, even for NEXT customers.
Verizon even says so on their website. It must be a glitch on Apple's end.

"The $40 upgrade fee applies any time you purchase a new device at a discount, with a contract extension, to replace an old device. This fee is in addition to the cost of the new device and applicable taxes. The upgrade fee does not apply when a new device is purchased at the retail price."

I ordered about an hour and a half late due to issues with the Verizon site, getting a 6s+ 64gb rose gold. My Verizon status page says that it will ship by 10/07. I would have preferred to order through Apple because of the better tracking and better... everything. But that wasn't an option since I was doing financing.

I get that I was late so would have a late ship date. But you pull up the same model even now on the Apple website it says 2-3 weeks, which is sooner than October 7. Does Apple just have different stock access or is there a good chance that I'll be getting it early? (opinions, obviously)
Unles the system is different than devious years we should start seeing improvements over the next few days to some of the early orders. It happens every year.

Just upgraded to a 6s and ATT just pissed me off. After nearly 20 yrs with them, and multiple upgrades, they say they can not waive the activation fee this round because I get a discount rate? Never been denied before. Asked for a supervisor and was told it will tell me the same thing. Anyone else have this issue lately? $45 is pretty step!! JMO I try again later in the week.

I can't believe pretty much everything is still in stock, I have not seen availability like this since a few hours after pre-orders go live since the iPhone 3G

Call and try again, screw that! Maybe you'll have better luck with another rep.

Much more availability in options and perhaps yields were better this year. Recall that every year a new tech is introduced, it is always the constraint to new devices. TouchID sensor for instance always limited supply of 5S and 6.

So if this year all components in the Supply Chain are of high yield, then Apple could easily ramp up a higher than usual iPhone stock.

Now, as to the other thing, we have 2 less countries at launch than last year (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

They had to have really ramped up supply this year, to still have shipping dates of 9/25 on any models at this point.

Looks like reserve-in-store is out of 6s+ here in Maryland

Yes, I ordered at 6am today and the Rose Gold and Slate Gray were already out of stock in Bethesda & Montgomery Mall. I just went and ordered online, I guess I'll work from home on 9/25 :)

I got my 6s+ 64 GB Verizon with confirmation email immediately hassle free from Apples website at 3:05 am EST this morning. Was able to stay on my subsidized plan. Not wanting to change to monthly payments and see my bill increase.

On a side note, has anyone pre-ordered from Best Buy? You are able to pick up in store 9/25. I did that without issues on 5s launch day.
Curious about Best Buy too. At least with them I'll get rewards points.

Hi Guys, Today was the first time I bought a new iPhone direct from Apple. Did anyone experience any trouble trying to get on this morning? Mine took about 5 mins before i got on to the models page to select what i wanted but after that it was fine.

Moving from a 16GB Gold iPhone 5S to a 64GB Gold iPhone 6S.

Can't wait till the 25th!

It really does.
It does. I started off with a silver iPhone 6 plus which I preferred as it looked better. However it was 64GB and I wanted 128GB. My carrier only had space grey in 128GB. I wanted any colour but space grey but had to settle for that. All year I've been lusting after a white front iPhone. I would have accepted a 128GB 6S plus so long as I could get it on launch day. This time I've secured the silver 6S plus in 128GB so I'm really pleased. No black phone this year for me.

Yea,

they have completely buckled down on upgrade fees. We can't waive them in store either. Everyone gets in a lot of trouble for crediting back that fee. The ONLY way it gets waived now is if your FAN discount waives it automatically.

Tax on an online order usually depends on whether that store has a brick and mortar store in your state. For instance, if I order from Dillard's website, I get charged tax because Dillard's has stores in Arizona. But if I order from Bloomingdales website, no tax, because there are no Bloomies in Arizona. Not sure how that applies to this, as it's more complicated with apple and all the carriers, but that's how it usually is.
Thank you for the info! I didn't know that.

I ordered a space gray 6s plus 128 gig. The preorder was the smoothest ever this time. Used the Apple Store app and was able to quickly get my order in with no problem.

Either everyone is ordering the 6S+ or Apple made sure they had a crap-load of 6S's for pre-order. I ordered mine at 3:04am EST and I woke up this morning around 7am EST and they still had launch day shipping

Is the regular 6s Aka the smaller one have lower ram and goes dead faster ? I seriously want it but not if it's considered the poor man version of the iPhone

5s is the current poor man's iPhone. The 6s and 6s+ have the same RAM but the 6s has a smaller battery due to smaller physical size and less power demanded from the screen.
