Yes some have reported not using a chime. They’re cheap though if you end up needing one
I ended up just getting a chime box on Amazon. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the issue right away and I ended up changing the transformer as well. This seemed to fix everything and its running smooth now!

I received mine today and got it installed tonight. I originally had the Ring Pro, then Nest Doorbell, and just swapped out the Nest to the Logitech. I am also fully invested in HomeKit so I like having all native HomeKit support. Before I go further, yes I also use HomeBridge/Hoobs with the Nest Cam plugin so I can see the Nest doorbell in HomeKit.

The first thing I noticed was the aspect ratio of the Logitech. I never had to use the angle mount for my Ring Pro or Nest and it could see my entire pouch. Not so with the Logitech. It's almost like it was rotated 90 degree, which is why they advertised "head to toe" footage. I can see more top and bottom than my previous doorbells. Anyways I changed to the included angle mount and now I get a complete view.

Onto HomeKit integration - if I want to view the live footage, it's fast, much faster than Nest and Ring. It's almost as quick as my POE/hardwired SynologyNVR camera system. With Nest and Ring you have to open their app and wait for the connection to establish. Even with HomeBridge there's a significant delay before the video starts streaming for my Nest.

I have a hardwired dome camera on my pouch so all my video doorbells are just to complement my setup. For my own purpose, this logitech doorbell seems to work better than my previous doorbells. I need to spend more time with this doorbell to see how well notifications and recordings work.

Lastly I think the Nest doorbell still feels more premium and solid.
I have to say I completely agree about the aspect ratio. Coming from the Arlo Video Doorbell, I never needed the angle mount until now. Now it works great though!

No trouble adding to home app? Mine just won’t add, router has to be in HomeKit??
You may have issues with the doorbell and your WiFi, I noticed today that I lost connectivity to it when it connected to an older access point. It was connected but not working. I updated firmware on that unifi lite AP and it’s working fine again.

Got one and no problem installing it but when I try and activate recording it says I already have 5 HKSV cameras - I don't I have four others (2 logitech circle 2 and two netatmo welcome indoor). The only way I can enable recording is by disabling one of the other 4. Somehow Homekit thinks I have one more device that I own? There is no way to list all the currently counted against 5 limit cameras. You can only disable what shows up in Home app so the ghost device is untouchable. Any ideas, HKSV still seems not to be ready for prime time, I don't think it's a Logitech issue.

Do you need a wall chime to get this going? I have homepods and plan to use that instead

Awesome, are you buying one? I can't wait for the reviews to come in.

Netatmo fumbled the ball regarding HomeKit Secure video.
It's about 2 years ago they promised HKSV for their Presence cameras, and its still not here.

The only benefit the Netatmo doorbell currently has is that you can save more than 10 days of data (if you add a bigger SD card).

As far as I know Apple HomeKit Secure video doesn't allow you to store more than 10 days, even if you have enough iCloud space is available. Sometimes you'll want more, as you want to be able to look at older videos when someone steals your stuff, or something else bad happened. (To check if they visited /scouted the house before, maybe leaving more clues for identification)
As soon as I can get the CFO aka the wife to sign off on it. She thinks the Nest is fine. The first step is to plant the seed...plus maybe there’ll be some sales in a few months.

Installed my door bell as well, but I noticed two issues with it and wonder if others also have this. i want to disable to Chime Doorbell, but that settings does nothing. No matter what, the doorbell always chimes. Another issue I have is the Chime on HomePod. No matter what, my HomePod won’t chime. Any idea how to troubleshoot these two issues? can someone please confirm if these options works as advertised?

“A easier and safer solution for someone with little to no experience would be to buy a 2 plug transformer off Amazon and plug it into an outlet. Paint the wire so it blends in and then put a decorative plant or piece of furniture to cover the wire.”

and this is a traditional transformer:View attachment 1690615
A professional electrician would follow the above diagram that connects a transformer to the AC mains. As I said, it was a professional approach that you would receive if you hired an electrician.

Some people want professional results for their home projects.

nice edit on your post BTW.

didn’t realize this thread would turn into teaching others on electrical work. Wow!
haha

Mlody no issue turning off physical chime here, perhaps double check you chime box wiring?

i don’t have a HomePod to check the ring there, my other Apple devices work great including Apple TV’s immediately showing who is at the door onscreen.

Sadly I haven’t had a great experience. I received it and did the setup process while inside the house. That worked fine (although they don’t include a micro usb cable that is needed during setup). Once I moved it to the doorbell position it would continuously disconnect then reconnect the doorbell. Apparently the stone face on the front of my house blocks all WiFi (1st problem). I tried resetting it to play around with my WiFi and I could never get it added to home app again. Just times out. Not sure what to do now. Logitech support hasn’t been able to help me yet just told me to reset which I already did multiple times.

Munpip214 that sounds exactly like the problem I had when my doorbell roamed to a different WiFi AP, there was some incompatibility with the network and although the doorbell was “connected” it was not seen by HomeKit. I update the firmware on my WiFi access point and that seems to have resolved the issue. And yes you need a decent WiFi signal outside for this to work.

Anyone else have issues with the inside of the glass fogging up? It is about 33 degrees F outside today here.

Two thoughts:

1. the device is putting out heat causing it to fog up
2. Your doorbell wire hole is allowing warm and humid air to escape from your house and into the door bell. I would ensure your doorbell wire hole is as small as possible and seal it up with caulk.

Anyone have any tips mounting it on a non flat surface (siding)?
dremel the mount bottom so that it fits the surface you're mounting to. The mount is largely plastic. The connection interface is only the size of a quarter so you can take a bit of the plastic off to get it to mold the spot you're place it into.

I mean the siding is flat just at an angle

My door molding was at a angle I used it to position the camera. Without a pic or better description of your setup I would say be creative and check the view of the camera before making final mount. You can use the angle mount or the straight mount, modify your siding or the mounts or add shims
