Where can I find the keyboard firmware version? I just received another one from Logitech.com instead of apple.com and everything seems to be working as it should now. Can’t really spot the battery drain or any disconnects so far so I’m wondering if I just got a bad batch from apple. I will have to continue to monitor and play around with it to make sure for at least a couple days/weeks since I have until June 2nd to return it.
Hey, any updates with your replacement unit? Would be helpful to confirm hardware vs. software fault so I can initiate the RMA process if possible in the middle of pandemic!
Reached out to Logitech support asking for solutions and instead of helping me troubleshoot (I had told them that I had updated to the latest iPadOS and had the latest version of Logitech Control app upfront), they immediately sent over an RMA form.
Not very inspiring and might allude to the fact that Logitech isn’t really pushing towards finding solutions for this product any time soon...
Buyer beware for sure!!!
Same but they’re asking me to send proof of which key isn’t functioning correctly. I’ve tried explaining this isn’t a mechanical key function issue, but a connection or firmware issue.
What’s odd is I downloaded iOS 13.5 beta 5 yesterday and I’m seeing nearly the number of disconnects as previous. I wonder if this is actually an Apple/iOS issue?
I'm having the same random disconnect problem with my Combo Touch, and a Logitech support person suggested I do a settings reset on my iPad. She said that can sometimes clear up problems between software and hardware, which is apparently a common cause of problems with Smart Connector keyboards. I'm wondering if anyone here has tried that already, and what people think of that suggestion. I'm not keen on spending an hour or more reconstructing my iPad if it's just a long-shot.
Thanks, I'm glad I checked here first! I'll hold on for a while to see if they issue a firmware update that makes a difference, and if not, I'll return/exchange it when I get close to the end of my return period.Yes, I did a settings reset earlier in the week (but not erase all content) and found the results to be similar.
just released, has anyone tried it out? I know the scrolling glitch was fixed, but I’m also hoping for some other potential fixes (Battery
While I haven’t experienced the disconnecting keyboard in my few days of ownership, I do have the scrolling issue where it seems to keep scrolling a bit more once I remove my fingers from the trackpad. Slightly annoying but small scrolling movements have alleviated this to some extent. Another issue I am having is with the two finger right click, I find that if my two fingers are not as close as possible, the trackpad registers this as a single click instead of a double click. Where as on my macbook, my fingers can be apart and still registers the double click. I guess a solution to this could be to use the tap to click feature instead. In terms of power drain, I haven’t noticed anything too drastic.
13.5 GM (same version as official release) and still disconnects, though improved from 13.4.1.
UPDATE: After having received a second unit from Apple today, I can confirm that this is almost certainly a wide-spread hardware issue. Since using the replacement unit continuously for a couple of hours, I haven’t had a SINGLE disconnect whereas connecting the old unit leads to disconnects within minutes of use.
Those still experiencing disconnects should almost certainly reach out to their vendor for refund/replacement. As noted above, if this is not possible then updating to iPadOS 13.5 does somewhat mitigate this, but nowhere near the level of a functional unit.
Mine has cutouts for all 4 speakers. Do you have the wrong part? The keyboard for the 10.2 iPad has a deeper case to account for the deeper body of the 10.2” iPad, but the keyboard itself is identical.I have the iPad Pro 10.5 and this has quad speakers. There are no cutouts for the top two speakers. Does the case somehow allow sound to pass through, or do I have to perform some surgery on the case?
Regarding above: connect a Bluetooth mouse, then in ‘Accessibility‘ > ‘Pointer options’ you can toggle “trackpad inertia” option off to fix this.

Mine has cut outs for all the speakers. Could it be that you ordered the case for the wrong iPad model
