Relevant article because Logitech's Mac keyboards and mice are really superior to Apple's.
Happy owner of a K811 keyboard and MX Anywhere 3 mouse, I haven't tested this new line of products but I hope the quality is on par with the previous series - still solid after 3 years of usage.
Logitech's stuff really is superior to Apple's. I received Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse from work and they both suck. I use MX Master Keys and MX Master 3S and they are the best keyboard and mouse I've ever used.

I've figured that the Magic Keyboard is quite handy in the living room due to being super small and lightweight so I got it hooked up to my TV.

Would love to have MX and Lift mice for left handed use.
Otherwise, not interested.

As a windows user looking to switch I have the following question:
Do non-Apple mice and keyboards like these connect with a small receiver to the Mac or via Bluetooth?
If it's with a receiver, is it USB-c?
Sorry for the silly question, but It's been hard to fin information and haven't found as many Mac periferals as I usually find for Windows..i think I would most likely use an Apple keyboard (because of Touch ID) but a third party mouse (the Magic Mouse is not comfortable for my hand)

Has the FileVault issue been resolved? Meaning will the keyboard and mouse work strictly on Bluetooth and unlock the Mac at startup with FileVault on. Honestly I used to buy Logitech and just used the dongle (which is a pain on a MacBook Pro without some sort of dock) but their products seemed to perform worse over the years (lagging etc) and the FileVault thing was the last straw. I have a craft keyboard and Mx master collecting dust somewhere.

As a relatively recent changer-over, I had long preferred Bluetooth mice to dongle ones largely because I had been using laptops and don't like a dongle sticking out. Also leaves USB ports free! And they just work once you have paired them.

I find the fairly cheap Logitech Pebble does what I need just fine. Perhaps I'm not demanding, but I prefer them to the other Logitech mice (I use at least two others).

Give me a wired keyboard and mouse any day. No battery to be manufactured and 100% uptime and connection. 10x prefer wired desktop peripherals. Would love Apple to bring them back and make a “pro” wired keyboard with a full compliment of ports on the rear edge. Reaching to the back of your keyboard to connect an SD Card or a USB stick sure beats hunting around the back on a iMac by the wall.
Me too. Sadly, Apple will never wire keyboards and mice again. It’s all about wireless and the web. End of. Which is why I love my iPod Classic. No notifications. No white noise. Just music into my wired head.

Actually, if you connect an wireless Apple keyboard to USB then it is a wired keyboard. I tried this using one on a machine that does not have functional bluetooth.

My preferred set up is a wifi keyboard and mouse with the dongle connected to my usb hub monitor, with a single USBc charging cable it the MBP. A find the wifi more reliable than bt.

I love the MX Revolution mouse, i bought one for my mac a few months ago to replace my magic mouse. Maybe its time to buy one to replace the MM I keep in my bag as my wrist feels way better using the MX.

Not being able to use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse other than Apple for FileVault authentication is a real pain. Its really only an issue for me on my iMac Pro that I use for work - when I need to reboot I just fire up the Apple devices and log in, then continue using the MX Keys and MX Master 3 that are a much better user experience for me.

Depends on the keyboard. If it has bluetooth you can use bluetooth, if it one that only supports a receiver you need to use that; which is usually USB-A. Bluetooth is pretty common now, I have a Logitech that works fine, as well as several other manufacturers as well that work with my Mac and iPad.

It is the color of it that is different.
The Mac edition also ships without a Unifying receiver in the box, the inclusion of which would have surely confused Mac users.

No change in the price of course, in fact, as it's a different SKU, many retailers will charge more for it.

Correct, the MX Master for Mac doesn't come with a unifying receiver.

However, the MX Keys for Mac keyboard does come with one. I wonder why.

Not buying anything Logitech until they fix their awful software. I went all in with a MX Master 3 mouse, a MX Keys keyboard and a c920 webcam. Solid hardware (apart from the webcam - using an iPhone 5s in Camo yields immensely better results) but the Options, Options + and Camera Settings apps are awful, awful, awful. Crashes, lack of Apple Silicon compatibility, kernel panic... I've had it all. If only Apple made a good 1st party mouse,

I think these look solid, but as a few others have mentioned, it would be really hard to give up touchID baked into the keyboard. For that reason, it is still best to use the offerings from apple, IMO.

why would anyone want a mouse without a touch screen top that scrolls in all directions after being used to it forever

It's about how you use the mouse and what you need; different solutions work for different users.

I have and M720 with USB Overdrive and can customize the buttons for specific key combinations. One opens Forklift, others move the active window to the other monitor (via Magnet), make the window go half screen (L or R) / fullscreen. Much more useful, for me, than my Magic Mouse; especially since I find the touch screen frustrating.
