after using the uninstaller of the logitech software the mouse started to work fine immediately, not even a reboot required

I'll have to give that a try with my MX Master and 2S at home. Neither one works properly over bluetooth, they both stutter and lag constantly which is super annoying. I'm using the Unifying receiver for now as a solution.

Got the original MX Master a couple months ago and it has been crap from day one. Pointer stuttering/jumping with Macbook Pro 2017. Same issue with included USB dongle or Bluetooth. I have now un-installed the Logitech Options software and the mouse seems smooth. Of course none of the extra buttons and scroll wheel do anything useful. What crap.

Any recommendations on replacement software that will allow me to assign keyboard shortcuts to the mouse buttons and side scroll wheel?

Nevermind. Still jumpy without the Options software. Crapola.

About two weeks before the warranty will end, the mouse (MX v1) is acting up again. I suspect Mojave has something to do with it. Logitech software is up to date as of today.

Problem: mouse freezes, light underneath (1/2/3 light) start blinking.

Turning it on and off solves the problem. Annoying things is this happens a lot and often mid-drag or something critical.

Shortly after my post I ditched the mouse and decided to try a Evoluent vertical mouse. Had no connection problems and found it a nice change going vertical. A lot less wrist strain and tiredness for me. In the meantime last year I moved to a MBP 2016. Been using it until I just upgrading to Mojave. Then I started seen wheel scrolling jumping issues with the Evoluent mouse. It was heavy and huge and battery life sucked (not rechargable) so I was actually ready for another change. I remembered that Logitech released a vertical mouse recently and last week got one. So far great mouse and no connection issues at all. I suspect that my 2012 MBP with Logitech wasn’t a good match due to age. Anyway that’s my follow up. The motto of the story...if it’s broke throw more money at the problem. :)

I did consider getting the Logitech vertical mouse! The strain was noticable for me on the MX Master, bought a Magic Trackpad for some variety.

Is it true the vertical doesn’t have the thumb button? I use that a lot for navigating through spaces on macOS.

The scroll wheel can act as a button and then right above the place where you rest your thumb there is a button as well. Using it to clicl the Post Reply button right now.

Ok this is weird. I have been using the MX Master on my Late 2014 iMac. Flawless and I didn't even know these issues exist. Connected via BT.

Upgraded to a 2019 iMac, no problems at all.

Now heres where things got interesting.

Installed Bootcamp
Everything was great except I had to toggle the connection switch back and forth, 1 in OSX, 2 in Win10.

Why don't I use the receiver I though, ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE.

Fantastic response in BootCamp, OSX its become the worst mouse in history. Stutters, Freezes, Jitters.

Now if I connect via BT, the MX Master still Jitters, Freezes etc. It's almost like the Logitech software did something to the BT software on OSX?

I used this exact same mouse for at least a year, on my other iMac, Macbook Pro. My Wife also has one on her 2017 iMac and has never connected the unifiying receiver and hers is silky smooth.

Have you tried resetting the mouse and going back to just using Bluetooth? That seemed to work, clicking the button to switch isn’t too bad.

Issues are definitely weird, I’ve never experienced them in combination with the receiver. I currently use the MX Vertical which has no issues. You know, expect in Windows Bootcamp but that’s a Windows problem I suspect (it’s so frustrating, I just use the cable and don’t bother solving the problem).

Yes I have gone back to BT and the mouse still acts like a jittery mess.

Now get this, I connect my MX Master to wifes iMac, smooth like butter.
Connect her MX Master to my iMac 2019, jittery.

Logitech changed something when I installed Logitech software?

Get this: I boot into Windows, mouse stutters over Bluetooth. I turn WiFi off, smooth like butter.

I’m at a loss :D

The largest issue I have experienced is when I installed Logitech Options software.
That stuff gets so deeply embedded, you think you uninstall it and it's still in the back ground somewhere causing some sort of issue.
It is bad new bears and has been that way for me since the 1st gen MX Master and now have 2 - current gen models.

If options somehow gets installed, call a surgeon or know how to find that cancer and remove it.

Once I either never install it or can get it completely removed, my mice work great on built-in Bluetooth across many models of Macs.

I can't even get my bluetooth to work at all on my 2017 MBP in bootcamp (latest Windows 10 update). I have tried everything and the only way I can connect my MX Master and Craft keyboard is to use the unifying receiver. And even then I deal with the darn stutters on the mouse connection.

i can confirm that after a fresh install of OSX on my 2019 iMac the MX Master is stutter free on BT. I don't dare re download the logitech software.

I've never used the Logitech mouse software.
Instead, I'll use either "SteerMouse" or "USB Overdrive".
Both have worked fairly well.
Right now, SteerMouse works a little better.
