I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt even though the NDA bit seemed suspiciously wierd. But the copy and paste being limited to certain apps because of memory? Come on that is just silly. Copying 'My little butter cup' to the clipboard takes up just as much memory and power in any application. And you would just need to access the clipboard API to get the data. So either the OP is lying/being fed false information, or Apple is really stupid and can't implement a clipboard properly.

people are actually believing this guy, lol. "because iPhone and iPod touch uses lot of power on memory, therefore, the copy and paste is limited. "

are you out of your mind? haha

I want to be able to quick reply to a text without having to close the program I'm in, opentexting, reply, close texting, open whatever app I was just in. Kind of like quick reply for mobleMe. That'd be a nice change.

Agree 100%. Maybe even more.

If you're jailbroken you can use iRealQuickSMS. It works exactly as you described. I can't get enough it's so easy to use.

Any word on front-facing camera? I want that. Badly.

I'm confused over which pic was already posted showing this future phone.

i think he's not stating anything crazy.. maybe he does know someone at apple who told him that, but made up the story to detract from that possibility.. or maybe he is indeed lying. Either way, who cares? We'll find out tomorrow.

It's not going to cost money people. Don't you remember when 2.0 was released? It was free to iPhone users, and a $10 upgrade for iPod touch owners.

I haven't read the whole thread but has it been mentioned that apple throw people off the sent by sending out false NDA's and info?

Even a few apple employee's admitted to having fun with us..it all generates hype.

I also got an email from a friend at Apple and it confirms the OP's claims, though it goes into more detail on the copy-paste restrictions. Because it requires more energy-hogging pixels to display certain text that's been copied to the clipboard, some high-pixel characters will be omitted from the clipboard. Namely, m and w will be omitted as well as most capitalized letters or those printed in a large and/or bold font. This is to save battery life.

I'd tell you all more about it, but I don't want to overstep the NDA that was appended to the bottom of the email.

:p

Yeah, and to invoke paste you have to turn around twice and touch your toes. Then you'll receive an email with a link to download the copied text.... then you can email it to your friends.

iPhone owners: doubtful
iPod touch owners: possibly

I think if it costs something, it will cost the same for both the iPod Touch and iPhone. If Apple didn't charge to upgrade the iPhone to 3.0 and you had to pay for iPods, there would be many iPod Touch owners complaining.

My guess is that 3.0 will have so many features that people would pay another $10 without a question.
