Wow. I'm glad I sent in my request when the 6 unlock was still $50 from Swiftunlocks. I thought about waiting for a bit, but not any more.

Purchased the unlock morning of launch day, still no confirmation e-mail. I sent in another unlock request for a 5S on Sunday and it was done Monday morning.

If you bought the unlock from Swiftunlocks at $50, you're most likely going to run into the same problem I did with that eBay seller. The source doing the unlocking will probably not honor the $50 price and Swiftunlocks will have to refund you. If you ordered the unlock on launch day or over the weekend, it should have been done by now. If it hasn't, then there's probably a problem.

Right on. That's exactly what happened. Just got the failure e-mail today.

Their vendor refused to honor the $50 price and Swiftunlocks is refunding my money. I still need an unlocked 6, so I'm gonna shell up $100.

I used www.iphoneasyunlock.com

The site itself is enough to scare fiscal conservatives and scamophobes away. BUT I had seen several positive reviews so I gave it a whirl. Not only did I receive a confirmation of "processing" email within a few hours. But replies to said email yielded a response within just a couple hours. The guy confirmed that "things" are crazy on the supply chain for unlocks, but confirmed that my $55 will get my phone unlocked, likely "by Friday." (Now the cost is $65...supply and demand!)

So, fingers crossed, but reason to be hopeful that come Friday I will have an unlocked iPhone 6!

Cheers!

Dang. Just got a refund. Guy says iPhone 6's aren't going right now.

My 5S unlock just came through on SwiftUnlocks for 40 USD, took less the 24 hours. Now have entered my 6 for 100 bucks I really hope this works as well...

I hope things will get better by in a few months. I don't need to unlock my 6 Plus yet but will need it before the end of the year. I wish it was like $10 when I did it for my iP5

If any of you have a genius bar replacement, try getting att to unlock that. They just approved the request for mine

What was your situation? What did you have replaced? What did you say to the genius bar employee....

My screen had some of the oleophobic coating missing. It was like they had tape applied while applying the coating. The genius just looked at it, said it was clearly not normal, and gave me a new one. I submitted the unlock request later in the evening just to see if it would work, and this morning I got the email saying it is unlocked

Both my 6 Pluses got unlocked today from SwiftUnlocks. Took 2 business days.

Hey guys.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I see in SwiftUnlocks that "This service supports phones in contract, lost/stolen", and I wanna know if the "no-contract" devices bought in Apple Stores, but AT&T locked also can be unlocked.

Does it work with no-contract locked phones too?

Thanks!

Will my iPhone 6 unlocked from AT&T (via SwiftUnlock) work on Verizon or Sprint?

I know it will work for T-Mobile. But I wonder if the CDMA portion of the iPhone 6 will also be unlocked or 'functional'...

It should work on Verizon, but they might not recognize the device as an iPhone. I put the MEID of my carrier unlocked AT&T iPhone 6 here and Verizon recognizes it as an iPhone 6. As I mentioned above, my phone is a genius bar replacement, so I don't know if Verizon just validates all of those.

I tried putting my dad's locked AT&T iPhone 6+ MEID, and it wasn't recognized.

Ey

I've ordered with flyunlock.
2x Express on iPhone 6 and 6+.
Ordered yesterday, so I'll see how fast they are.

I've used these guys a few times, reliable.

These guys unlocked my ATT 6+ within 24 hours. Though I'm guessing they don't work on the weekend. Definitely +1 to this, my Verizon SIM works in the ATT 6+ now :)

Mine from Swiftunlock just completed and my ATT iPhone is working with my Verizon SIM now.

I just want to confirm with you if you can make phone calls using the Verizon sim card & you can also connect to the LTE data network? If so, then this confirms that the AT&T iPhone have the CDMA radios built-in and there's really no difference between the AT&T/T-Mobile version vs. Verizon (except the the Verizon ones are already unlocked).

did you pay outright for your phone or contract price? my Apple Store had no T Mobile units so i opted for an ATT unit at full price and they insisted that the phone was STILL LOCKED and not globally unlocked. Got home and popped in my TMO nano sim and no problem getting service. LTE is working and all.
Why do the Apple Store employees seem to know so little
about their own products? I know someone who was told the T-Mobile phones were locked at full price when they're not either.

Verizon SIM in ATT iPhone 6+, unlocked by third party:
LTE works
Voice over CDMA works
Hotspot works (if it's on your plan)
VoLTE works (turned on V+D in cellular settings and I am making this post while on a call, using hotspot on my laptop on LTE)

That's awesome. I can't wait to get my iPhone 6 Plus unlocked to use w/ Verizon.

Only thing to note is that Verizon can't tell what device you're using. It doesn't list any phone in My Verizon. I'm hoping this has no ill effects on my unlimited data. Time will tell.
