did anyone else think that the look back at the Oceanic 6 "episode" (if you can call it that) was pretty dumb. i mean i guess it helps ppl who arent totally involved with the show but i just found it a waste of time. did anybody learn anything new that they didnt know before?

There's always some little diddie that they throw in there, but I don't think there was anything surprising this week.

Does anyone check the EW "Doc" blog? That guy makes connections that surprise the hell out of me. I don't know if he's right (I don't think he know's if he's right), but it's an interesting read to see his predictions.

I just saw Wednesday's episode listed in my DVR queue, and it reminded me how excited I am for this episode and the show in general! The next one is called "The Variable", which I assume is a counterpoint to last seasons very important episode "The Constant". We haven't seen Desmond in a while, and I didn't see him in the scenes from the next episode, but "The Constant" was about him, so maybe this week's will be too. I'm not a huge Desmond fan, but I think that may change, as he seems more and more to be a very important part of the show.

What dont you like about Desmond?! No its ok i can see why some ppl dont like him. But i got to give credit to Henry Cusick. Desmond's character is a very complex and hard to pull off but i think that he has done it incredibly well. Desmond is definitely a key to the show. According to Faraday the rules dont apply to him and only him so i would say that that he is in the top three of the most improtant characters. the others being Locke and Jack.

ps - the last time we saw Desmond he beat the piss out of Ben. Always a good time.;)

Perhaps Faraday is 'The Variable' to Desmond's 'The Constant'?

We did see Faraday again finally at the end of last episode as he got off of the sub. Maybe he is an important variable that needs to be back on the island in order to get the next chain of events rolling.

i believe that faraday is the variable as well. Desmond and Faraday are connected in some way. if you think of the Island's time irregularities as an equation Faraday is the variable and Desmond is the constant. Meaning like i said before Desmond is unaffected by the "time rules" so he stays constant. Maybe the opposite is true for Faraday. he does seem to have some memory problems. like when charlotte and him are doing memory with the cards he seems to have trouble remembering them. maybe this is due to the fact that he is the variable.

i think about this show too much hahaha

I can't wait, three away form the finale....this week is daniel if i am corect...next week....eh, no idea and the finale.....pshh dont wanna ruin for peopel

My latest episode given to us in the UK on Sunday was a friggin catch-up episode. I hate those, it feels like cheating us out of a real episode. Did my DVR just screw up or is this what everyone else got too? I'm trying to figure out if I need to acquire the proper episode or not.

That's unfortunately what we were given too. There will be a new episode next week. :)

I like Desmond. The poor sap is just trying to live a decent life with his girl Penny, but the Island just keep sucking him back in. I wouldn't be shocked to see him show up on his sailboat with Penny and their kid in some episode.

I also think that Walt is still a dark horse in this whole thing. They teased us when Locke went to see him, but nothing came of it... He was too key in the early seasons to let it go.

They did say that Walt was special, they also said that about Locke. But maybe it's just because he was a child and the Others hadn't seen one for quite a while (what with the inability to conceive or whatever it was). I think they've left Walt out too long for him to suddenly develop a key role in the show now.

It's going to take some pretty intense writing whiz-bangery to tie all of this crap together. I'm honestly enjoying this season the least.

It just feels so radically different from all the others. Maybe they'll be able to to make it all work, who knows.

i agree. they have dug themselves quite a hole. but i have faith that they will pull off an amazing end to the show. everyone may not be happy with it but then again when you have a following this big nothing would make everybody happy.

Actually, a part of the whole child thing has been ignored for a while. Remember when "Cindy" had all the Tailie kids? What happened to them? And where's the computer screen that Walt used to contact his father? And why was he soaking wet in Locke's first- (or was it second-) season vision? I definitely think there's something for Walt before all is said and done, though the actor has grown so much ... he won't be the comic-book reading kid we knew.

And what happened to Vincent?

this is the kind of plot things that i think Teezie meant when he said they are going to have to do some pretty incredible writing to tie everything together.

i dont know how i would feel if they leave things unanswered. for some things we're sitting here saying whatever happened to so and so but maybe the creators think that it's been cleared up. i also wonder if at the end of season 6 they will have a Q & A? dont know how i would feel about that either.

And what happened to Vincent?

Well he is the only confirmed "character" that survives the whole show so he is alive somewhere.

Now that was mighty fine! Shame that next weeks is the last episode for a while.

Was that a younger Caeser in the hostiles camp? And does this mean only a few of the Losties are constants, didn't quite follow that part of the story .

Welllll...

Good ep! I'm not a huge fan of the death at the end, but hopefully he comes back a la Christian or Locke. It was so interesting to see Dan's life up to when he left on the freighter. It was also interesting to learn that Widmore was Faraday's father, though I imagine many suspected it all along (as long as you assumed Ellie was Elloise).

Why did he bring the gun in with him to the Other's camp? Richard is pretty reasonable, and once Daniel established that he is in the know, I doubt his life would have been in any danger at all. I guess he just freaked out and went with his gut.

What was he studying at Oxford that made him into a nut and Theresa into a vegetable? How could it relate to the island?

So were they sent back to the 70's to prevent the plane crash from happening? I don't see why the Island would want that. It seems like the Island wants everyone who is there to be there, that there is a reason for each of them being there.

Man there is so much to think about. I'm glad there's another episode next week!

A little dissapointed with that whole scene. It was very out of character for him. Elloise sent him back knowing she was going to kill him.

He was studying time travel, but his version sent the conciousness instead of the whole individual. Do you remember the mouse (rat?) and the maze experiments. The mouse couldn't have known how to move through the maze so fast unless he had done it before. He said he tested it on himself before sending Theresa through. It just affected her differently I suppose. I guess that's why he knew Charlotte was in trouble with the nose bleads. He must have seen it before.

It's kind of what I was afraid of. They change the past and affect the future. Plane doesn't crash, none of this ever happens.

I have to say, I didn't want it to end this way, and even though it's headed into that direction, we can't know if it will actually happen.

Next up, Jack has Daniels "playbook" and will try and detonate the Hydrogen bomb in the cave... This was a little bit of a let down for a pretty good episode. I loved it when he told the Doc that Miles was his son. Miles acted like a little kid when he asked if this was true. "Uhhh Noooo" with that sheepish head bow like he just got in trouble for writing on the wall with markers.

The island is in Chaos, I guess we'll just have to lower the safety bar, keep our hands inside the car at all times and scream! LOL

Oh right, good call. It shows a nicer side of Widmore, him taking care of Theresa because of what his son / investment did. I don't think he is a bad man, per se, but rather a man obsessed. I love the episodes that he appears in.

Why couldn't Faraday's mother have said to him:"Hey listen. When you go back to the island, and you decide to come looking for me, how about you forget about the guns? Just don't bring a gun. Write that in your journal so you don't forget."

It made no sense that they brought guns with them. They didn't bring guns when they brought Ben to them.

Why appear threatening?

Also, if they would have left without guns, the whole shootout scene wouldn't have happened and Sawyer and Juliette wouldn't have been found out.

what i would like is for them to drop the hydrogen bomb, destroy the energy and so the plane crash never happens.

if the plane crash never happens, then they never land on the island, then there is never this show LOST that i must watch every wednesday only for me to get aggravated and stressed out cuz i have no idea what the F is going on even though i've seen every episode but the show is soooo good i have to watch it. problem solved.

If the plane crash never happened, Faraday wouldn't have been sent on the freighter to the Island, and would therefore never be sent back to 1974 to prevent the energy of the hatch from being released...so the energy of the hatched will still be released because he went back to fix it......

wait, what?
