I'm just ready for the Blu Ray box set to come out so I can watch seasons 1-6 straight through with all the special features.

Maybe that's their daughter, or Daniel is their son? Or maybe they just put that little stamp on the photo.

I've always thought that the plane crash was fate's way of saving each of the Losties: Jack from his downward spiral, Hurley from his disastrous post-lottery luck, Kate from prison, Sawyer from his obsessive quest for revenge, Locke from his pitiful life and job, Charlie from a decadent life leading to a drug overdose, the marriage of Sun and Jin, Desmond from being "not good enough" for Penny, and so on. Obviously, it didn't help Shannon or others who died.
I think that somehow preventing the original crash of Flight 815, and having them all return to those lives, would be a disappointing series outcome for a lot of us fans.
Good point. It does seem like the island is the best and worst thing that has ever happened to some of them.
And that would be a terribly disappointing ending. I worry that's what they're working up to but I'm hoping not.
I think that no matter how the series ends, people will be pissed and disappointed. You know, kind of like an Apple announcement.

I agree. When you have something as popular and universal as LOST, there's no way your ending is going to please everyone. Take, for example, the Sopranos last episode. As a fan of the show throughout it's entire life, I thought the ending was masterful, and didn't think it could have been done any other way. Other people who share the same long-time relationship with the show totally disagreed with me. You really can't please everyone.
It's sort of funny how the best shows get scrutinized the closest. Such is life, I suppose.
I think the only reason Richard is so hesitant on taking Locke to Jacob is because he is Jacob.
Or you know, randomness?I definitely think Richard isn't Jacob. Maybe Jacob is just a random Dharma Initiative guy who falls in the wrong trench and then gets permanently unstuck in time.
On a slightly different topic ... I've been wondering why 1977. Does something happen that year that is somehow relevant to the Lost plot? The creation of the Apple II? That nasty plane wreck at Tenerife? Star Wars? Son of Sam? Something from the year must be significant.
