I looked back a few pages and haven't seen this mentioned.

Could Charlotte be the baby from the beginning of Season 5. You see a Korean couple in bed and he wakes up to care for the baby, if you watch the link below you'll see the baby is not Korean. Charlotte talked about how she and her mom left the island and this would explain that she can speak to Jin because she was raised by a Korean couple.

Good catch. I think that there is a very high probability that the baby being raised by Dr. Pierre Chang (aka Dr. Marvin Candle, Dr. Mark Wickmund and Dr. Edgar Halliwax, the guy in the orientation films) is Charolette, and her mother (the asian woman in bed) decided to leave the island after finding out something. Later in the scene, Daniel bumps onto him during the building of the Orchid. Maybe he sticks around until Charolette is a little older so that he can warn her not to return to the island.

What a fantastic catch! This certainly sounds plausible.

Here are two frames from that season opener video that match facts we now know.

In the portion where Dr. Chang is directing the excavation for the station:

1. We see the spike that Locke landed on.

lost-spike.jpg

2. We see that the guy who was drilling had a major nosebleed! He got too close to the energy source that we later learn surrounds the time-travel wheel. So it's not the time-travel that causes nosebleeds, but the energy that causes both the time-travel and the nosebleeds.

It would make sense that longer exposure to the energy takes more of a toll on your body, which is why Charlotte, who lived on the island as a child, gets them more readily than, say Sawyer.

Did Locke land on a spike? It looked to me like he broke his leg and his femur was sticking out. Are there any screen shots of Locke right after the fall?

I'm pretty sure that Daniel explained that the time travel causes the nose bleeds. Didn't the same thing happen to his experimental mice? I don't think it has anything to do with how long you've been on the island. There are people that have been on the island way longer than Sawyer (like the Others and Danielle), and even Charlotte (when you combine the time she spent there as a kid and during her return), and they're just fine.

I believe you are right, that he did not land on a spike.

However, here, I do not agree with you. Daniel says in one of the first episodes of this season that the nosebleeds occur based on your time of exposure to the island. And I believe they don't occur if you are just chilling on the island in it's normal state, but only when the island is jumping through time, which is why people who have been on the island for a long time are still fine - the island only recently started time-jumping.

But Juliet is getting nosebleeds and she has been there much longer than Sawyer and Locke.

Not all that much longer. I remember the episode when Ben recruited Juliet, I don't think it was supposed to take place very long ago (in respect to the show's timeline).

Also, I know this is a stretch, but who is to say that Sawyer and Locke have not spent more time than Juliet on the island. We can only assume they have not because of what we know, but, as demonstrated by this show in the past, what we don't know about the island, and who has inhabited it in the past, is almost limitless...

Did some reading up on lostpedia and it turns out Sawyer did get a nosebleed (slipped my mind ). How many haven't had nosebleeds then? All I can think of is Locke but he might be safe because of his "purpose" or that he might have been on the island before, but so had Charlotte.

Guess you're right though. Juliet doesn't seem to have aged at all so she must still be quite new on the island herself.

Ok. I could get down with that theory.

I think that it's more about being exposed to the unstable island than just being on the island, just like barr08 said above (in bold).

I think that Juliet has probably been on the island a little longer than you guys think. I doubt any more than 2-4 years, but definitely longer than the crash survivors. She is, after all, able to speak fluid Latin, which she had to learn once she got to the island (as she mentioned, The Others all have to know how to speak Latin). That's no easy language to learn fluently.

1. I am pretty sure he landed on something else. He is in an earlier time during the fall. It also looks completely different. Here is a screen shot. No way that is a bone.

2. I completely agree.

Could the Wheel be from the Blackrock?

That is what I have thought since we first saw the wheel.

Does anybody remember season 4 (episode 2 maybe?) when we see the first flashback of Faraday? He is crying when he sees the plane crash on the news and says he doesn't know what is wrong. I think whatever he did in his future (in the past) to try to stop Charlotte from coming back to the island fails.

It still looks like a broken femur to me. I think his leg snapped when he landed. If Locke landed on something that impaled his leg, he would have had to struggle to pull the spike/sharp object out of his leg. That act would have been an integral part of that scene. When he got up, he just got up- it was difficult and painful, but there was no struggle to pull a spike/sharp object out of his leg.

Whatever, it doesn't really matter. I don't think it's an important detail.

I remember, who is the woman with him, asks him how he wants his eggs, she's wearing a wedding ring. She walks and sounds like juliet.
Indications are of a close relationship, yet dan (allegedly) ran away from the english woman/student in a coma and told everyone he loved charlotte. More to be revealed there?

I'd go with a broken tibia for Locke

It looks to be below the knee, so if it is a broken bone, it would be his tibia (or fibula), no? Either would be more likely to break than the femur.

Correct! femur, knee to hip. Tibia and fibula below knee, fibula the smallest of the two below knee.

Oh, I thought the break was above the knee.

On looking at it again, it does look like it is below the know. So tibia or fibula it is. Looks more tibia-like.... the fibula is quite thin.

Looks like he landed on his right leg first- which is the broken one- and kept his left leg bent.....

Are we still talking about this? :D

I am done now, it probably isnt even important.

My biggest questions about Lost right now are Libby, Matthew Abaddon, and Ms Hawking.

To me, the only significant thing about Locke injuring himself is the poetic justice (or whatever you'd like to call it) of him leaving the island like he entered it - crippled at the legs. Kind of a fun blast from his past.

Agreed. That's exactly what I was thinking when it happened. I don't think it matters how he injured his leg, it just matters that he did injure his leg.

Also, he was shot in the leg early on in the flashing (by Ethan?). I think the same leg.

Maybe whatever healing the island can provide is only applicable on the island, or is only supposed to be effective on the island, so before Locke leaves, Jacob/the island is doing everything in his/it's power to make him the way he was before he arrived there and was healed.

Or maybe it is insignificant. Who knows!

Oh, and I checked Lostpedia. Juliet was on the island 3 years before 815's crash, so I suppose she should have gotten the nosebleeds a little before they hit Sawyer. However, they got them at the same time, so maybe 3 years isn't a long time to be on the island at all, relatively speaking.

Remember a series or 2 ago when somebody was off the island and tried to kill himself, but failed because "the island won't let you die" or something? (sorry that's so vague )

Maybe it's the same thing here. The island doesn't heal everyone, it just keeps some people alive. After all some people still do get sick (nosebleeds, cancer, being exploded).

It could be argued that the only people to get sick are the people the island wants to get sick. Ben and Jack are the only two I can think of, but both were seemingly deserved in the island's "eyes".

Not meaning to break the chain of thought going on here but i was wondering why Ben had insisted he move the island even tho Locke was the one Jacob told? Is there something up his sleeve or was it his last defiant act against Jacob and the island.Just when you start to believe Ben something pops up that makes you think otherwise..

Good call here. I think he deffinitely has something up his sleeve. He deffinitely wanted to get off the island w/ the O6, but to what end, we have yet to see.
