Good call here. I think he deffinitely has something up his sleeve. He deffinitely wanted to get off the island w/ the O6, but to what end, we have yet to see.

I figured he wanted off just to be able to screw with Widmore easily, which couldn't be done while the island was hopping around in space and time. Of course maybe he knew about the nosebleeds and just wanted to avoid possibly dying before the island could be stabilized.

Another tangent...

Don't have a way to get a screen cap easily, but a friend of mine made the claim that a statue outside the church where Ms. Hawking hides only had 4 toes. Can anyone verify this?

I think the island skipping around is partially caused by Ben moving the island and not Locke, so I don't think he knew about the nosebleeds. But I bet there will be more on this on tomorrow's episode.

Remember a series or 2 ago when somebody was off the island and tried to kill himself, but failed because "the island won't let you die" or something? (sorry that's so vague )

Maybe it's the same thing here. The island doesn't heal everyone, it just keeps some people alive. After all some people still do get sick (nosebleeds, cancer, being exploded).

That was Tom? who got run over on the beach by Hurley?

Charlie, or at least Dominic Monaghan, isn't dead after all. Monaghan showed up playing a rock star with a suitably decadent lifestyle, on a recent episode of Chuck! Anyone been to a DriveShaft concert lately? :)

Wow, talk about typecasting. Poor fellah, everyone will think he's a rockstar for the rest of his life

I wish he was still a character in Lost. He was such a loveable scamp.

No one ever is really "gone" in Lost, Ana Lucia and Ethan have made appearances this season...

That said, being typecast as a rockstar is probably more lucrative for him than being typecast as a hobbit for the rest of his career.

True, but we haven't seen a whole lot of Charlie since he died, except for him visiting Hurley...twice, I think? I crave MOAR

Also true. Being typecast as a rockin' hobbit, however, is possibly the best typecast possible...

He rocks in the hill-side all a day long
Smokin' and a-drinkin' and a-singin' the song
All the little hobbits on Bag End St.
Love to see the hobbit's hairy feet feet feet
[Chorus]

Rockin' hobbit (feet feet feet)
Rockin' hobbit (feet feet feet)
Oh rockin' hobbit well you really gonna rock tonight

Tonight is the night. Now that the NFL is over, I look forward to Wednesdays instead of Sundays.

Tonights episode should be great. I have a little ritual where I order takeout, crack a beer, turn the lights down, and watch last weeks ep then this weeks ep. It's a great time!!

Oh man how many more questions can we take!

Ok, so Jack has to give Locke his fathers shoes so he's a 'surrogate' for Jack's father... anybody want to bet that gituar that Hurley brought with him is Charlies'?

What did Ben get upto the night before the flight?

Oh and correct me if I'm wrong, but the guy that said 'sorry' to Jack in line at the airport isn't he from Sayid's past (one of the Iraqi guard?) Speaking of which besides Sayid's armed officer escort, which parallels Kates escort on flight 815 BTW, that guy is the only one in first class that doesn't seem to know where they really were going. I feel sorry for the Econo class people. :)

... right now I'm going to leave that whole Jin-in-Dharma uniform for later... the show has a lot of explaining to do.

Did Frank teleport with them? Did the plane crash or did they just disappear? Why on earth would a plane with all of the Oceanic 6 even be allowed to take off, aren't they famous?

I think they're all now in the past at the time the Orchid was constructed. We'll soon meet young Charlotte. I think Ben was out framing Sayid to get him on the plane.

Now begins the parallel to the beginning while we have current happenings (with respect to the timeline's of the Losties) while we have flashbacks to the mainland up until Locke's suicide.

They didnt teleport, they were taken back in time. The plane did not travel back in time and likely continued flying normally. Jack and the others 'fell' out of the sky because the plane did not exist in 1970 or whenever they are now.

I think Frank is with them, because Charlotte and Miles were also traveling through time on the island. Anybody who was on the island when Ben turned the wheel should have been effected the same way.

Anybody else think Locke will be alive now, since they are in the past?

Absolutely it's Charlie's. That's the first thing I thought of.

I think Ben was doing his thing to get Kate, Hurley and Sayid on that plane. I guess we'll find out what he did soon.

Yes, that was one of the Iraqi guards.

Jin was in Dharma uniform because they flashed back to the time when Dharma was running the island and building stuff, and I'm guessing Jin, Sawyer, Farraday, etc all figured out a way to blend in with the Dharma people. Remember, Farraday was also dressed in Dharma gear inside the Orchid station construction.

I wonder if young-Ben knew Julliette and had a crush on her and that's why he eventually found her and recruited her to the island as part of the Others?

I don't think the plane crashed. I think that the Oceanic 6, Ben, Locke, and Frank all flashed to the island. Maybe that Iraqi guard guy also ended up on the island- maybe he was touching Hurley during the flash. That would make for a new plot-line for Sayid.

I don't see how Ben could possibly frame Sayid, have him arrested and extradited to Guam so quickly (within one night). It'll be interesting to see how the writers explain that one.

I don't think they literally fell (I guess that's why you have ' ' around 'fell'). It doesn't work that way though in terms of the plane not also traveling because it didn't exist in 1970 (or whenever)- so far, if they're touching something, it travels with them. Remember, Sawyer brought that piece of rope from the well with him when that flash occurred. I can't explain why they were able to flash from being 20,000 ft in the air to being safe on the ground without falling and, well, going splat.

I think Locke will be resurrected by the island (like Jebus, who, as the story goes, sacrificed himself for the greater good because of faith, only to be resurrected later), I don't think it has anything to do with them being in the past. It's more to do with him having complete faith in doing what is right for the island. He went and brought everyone back even though he knew he would die (and thought he would never go back to the island). Being brought back to life will be his reward. Jack is like St. Thomas- he has to touch the wounds to believe. I think this because: a) John's too good a character to kill off, b) he's yin to Jack's yang, and c) he was in the previews for next week. Looks like Ben was involved in His suicide. Stupid previews.

That's what I think...... so far.

Was the air marshall in Ben's employ? Perhaps the only way for Ben to get Sayid aboard the plane was for him to send someone posing as an air marshall (or an actual air marshall in his pay) to arrest him and force him onto the plane. This would also explain why he was aboard a plane headed to Guam. If he was being arrested for the deaths at the motel, he wouldn't be extradited.

This was another great episode. I didn't put a few things together that you guys did. Charlies guitar - awesome. Sayin with a guard paralleling Kate - awesome.

I really liked that Jin was in Dharma garb. Him, Farady and the rest are probably dressing like Dharma members to fit in, like you guys said. Maybe they're stuck in that time period?

When the flash happened, I assumed it was just a normal Island time flash, and they were just in the proximity of the island when it occured. Maybe that's why the island started flashing in the first place. Maybe it has been "programmed" (for lack of a better term) to start flashing when people who shouldn't leave do, so that all they have to do is fly above the island and they are magically back in it. Maybe now, the time flashes will stop, since they have served their purpose of bringing people back - just a hunch.

I think one of two things is going to happen to Locke. My first guess is that he will be resurrected in the same fashion as Christian Shepard. He will appear to people to guide them, but won't be around all the time. The island has a history of using dead people to mess with the living. My second guess, if the first one isn't true, is that he will come back in a different time and have to sync up with the rest somehow. No matter what happens, it will be very interesting.

Ben took Aaron, Ben broke Hurley out, and Ben framed Sayid. I think he did this with the help of Hawking's resources. They both were willing to do anything to get them back to the island. Maybe Elloise is caring for Aaron in Kate's absence. That may be a long-shot, though.

I wonder what other "pockets" of electro-magnetic energy exist. Maybe the significant thing about all these people is that they were born or raised in or near one of these pockets, and the island is like their final destination. Again, this is pure guessing at this point, but it would be kinda interesting.

Edit: Lupidus (sp?) looks weird without a beard...

Well if Frank disappeared then the plane is flying in co-pilot only mode and was not doing well when he disappeared, so crashing may be a definite option.

Go out and attack some Guam official who happened to be in L.A. and tip off the authorities. He was being extradited, not hard at all. Of course usually extradition takes much longer (I assume) but since when is reality an impediment to plot pace?

Well since he was at the dock and considering he was out on vendetta, I assume he was there to kill Penny Widmore. Whether he managed or not is yet to be seen.

That could definitely be a theory... since his errand was after he found out that Desmond was in L.A.

I figure Aaron is with Claire's mom.

Amazing episode :) Along with The Constant I could probably watch bits of this over and over. Loved the intro. And Bens comments on the plane? Priceless :D

But I'm really glad they nipped this in the bud and sent them back to the island so soon. I was really thinking the last series would be about them getting back, in true dragged-out Lost fashion.

That is a very possible theory about Locke- he can become the island prophet. It seems like something he'd want- as long as he has the use of his legs.

One pocket might be in the arctic/antarctic where that monitoring outpost station is (or maybe that was just outside Toronto during a really bad snowstorm ;)).

Well if Frank disappeared then the plane is flying in co-pilot only mode and was not doing well when he disappeared, so crashing may be a definite option.

I'm assuming it did because of the Ajira Airlines water bottles from a couple of episodes back.

I want to clarify regarding my comments about the plane crashing or not. What I meant to say was that I don't think that the plane crashed on the island. It is very possible that it crashed somewhere else.

Regarding Sayid and his apparent extradition: I think that the writers have stayed within the realms of reality when it comes to stuff that can actually happen in reality. I think that there must be more to the story as to why Sayid is in handcuffs on that plane. Maybe that officer is one of Ben's people as someone mentioned.
