I can't quite figure it out, but I see a parallel between Rousseau and Claire. We haven't seen any evidence of either one of them coming into contact with anything that might "infect" them.
They both gave birth on the island, perhaps that is enough to trigger the "infection". I agree that taking the others at their word that they are in fact infected is hard to do.

Is MIB really "evil" or just misunderstood? (and just a bit violent. ;))

If you match up the publicity photo with The Last Supper then Judas the betrayer is either Sayid or Kate. You can't tell because of the way Peter leans past Judas in the painting.

Interesting theory there good Doctor. If true that means Sayid has been taken over by Jacob perhaps. And Jacob isn't the nice guy he pretends to be since he tends to enslave people to the island.

And Locke HAS been brought back to life. Kinda sorta.

[edit] interesting note. Please correct me if I'm wrong

There are 13 people with Locke
There are 12 at the last supper

Of the 13 with Locke there are 12 that didn't originate from the island.
Miles was born on the island. Leaving 12. Like in the last supper.
There is debate and conjecture about Richard.

This is like the Da Vinci Code. There's a lot of info in that publicity shot I bet.
We just don't know it yet.

I've only seen the season one. Soon after that 'smoke' came and started to kill people, the show went wrong. It was fun when it was realistic. And that trapdoor underneath the ground was a stupid idea.

What is this, BSG? Is every ensemble cast show going to use a LS photo spread in its Last Season?

Based on positioning, Kate would be the Judas - he is the one with his elbow on the table (thanks Wikipedia!) and so is she.

I'm starting to think that the only way we will ever learn the truth behind any of it is to buy the eventual DVD/Blu Ray box set with creator's/director's commentary. Then we can hear it directly from them what this or that meant at this or that time in the story.

I can just hear them now:

"It was supposed to be a comedy. The only actors we had in mind were Alan Dale, because he likes Monty Python, and Wilson the Volleyball. But we couldn't come up with enough jokes about plane crashes or dead bodies, and Wilson wanted too much money."

"And then a horse wandered onto the set, so we put it in a scene. We figured we could make up an explanation for it later or maybe people would forget about it and we wouldn't have to."

"The four-toed statue is actually 8 inches tall. We found it at the International Market Place in Honolulu. We gave it to the FX guys and they ran with it."

"The actors complained that we used a real hydrogen bomb, but we hade to make sure the scenes were realistic. The same with the torture scenes. Yes, we used real torture, but look at the good ratings we got."

"Originally nobody noticed that 'The Numbers' are Jorge Garcia's cell phone number. Once people figured it out he started getting about 1000 calls a day. But he's a good sport so he answers them all and talks to anybody who phones him."

"We're going to answer all of the questions raised by the story. But not in the last season. You'll have to send $29.99 and a self-addressed stamped envelope to ABC and they'll send you the secrets. You have to promise not to tell anyone else."

They had a polar bear in episode 2 I think? Yea, it hasn't been realistic for a good long while.

huh its interesting you should say that. Locke heard someone say "help me" when the cabin started shaking. maybe that was the MIB.

That's what I've been saying....The Man in Black was always in the cabin, unless Ben called him from his floor "well" thing.

And the MiB was who Ben/Locke thought was Jacob, in the cabin. That's why Ben killed Jacob. He thought that Jacob never "summoned" him, when in reality it was the MiB/Smokey that was summoning people, not Jacob. Jacob always lived in the foot statue.

And Jacob was actually the one that trapped MiB in the cabin, As well as hold Richard hostage. Hence why when Locke heard MiB say "Help me", it was him needing help to escape from Jacob's "hold".

Question (in a Dwight Shrute voice):
If the MiB was trapped in the cabin how could the smoke monster be roaming around the island at the same time?

Was it? Do we ever see the smoke monster from at least the time John and Ben were in Jacob's cabin and witnessed smokey until we see the break in the ash when Ilana goes to the cabin?

But, we still don't know how or when the break in the ash occurred so we cannot know when smokey got out. Maybe this is to come. Add to the list of unanswered questions.

We should have a separate thread for unanswered lost questions.

He's only roaming around the cabin when Mr. Linus calls him, through the "drain" in his room. (At least, that's my theory)

As long as the smoke monster can't take a human form it's in smokey form and can't get out from the ash circle unless released. It's when it can be in a human form that it can get around by itself.

^^^ No, we've seen smokey roaming around the island in smoke form. I think that the only way it can cross the ash is if the circle is broken.

I wonder if Smokie can cross the ash while in human form though..... can Flocke cross the ash?

She named him Aaron in the island reality. She has yet to name him in the LAX reality.

Technically thats true but. From lostpedia : Episode 3 Season 6 "What Kate Does"

Kate drives her to the hospital, where Doctor Ethan Goodspeed asks Claire if she is ready to have her baby, which confuses her. It appears the baby is ready to be delivered, even though it is still slightly premature. Ethan then tells her she can have the baby now or he can give her drugs which are safe and may stop the labor. Claire decides she isn't ready and she will take the drugs. When a monitoring device loses the unborn baby's heartbeat, Claire panics momentarily, crying out, "Is Aaron okay?" Ethan uses an ultrasound to show that the baby had simply changed position and appears to be healthy.

Claire gives Kate her credit card.
Later, Detective Rasmussen and Officer Westly enter the hospital room, searching for Kate. Claire covers for her, claiming she was just a cab driver who helped her into the hospital. After the police officers depart, Kate emerges from an adjoining room and thanks Claire for her help. When Claire asks Kate what she had done, Kate asks "Would you believe me if I said I was innocent?" Claire says she would and, in gratitude, gives Kate her credit card. Claire says she used the name "Aaron" because she "knew it or something," and Kate tells Claire she should keep him. The two wish each other luck as Kate departs.
