Did you notice Jack coming down the hall as Nadia's husband (Sayid's brother) was being rolled into surgery?

Somebody said that Smokie attacks only when attacked. Not from what I saw tonite.

Claire needs a trip to the spa. She still looks like she was raised by wolves.

It seemed like tonight that what the character was doing on the island they were doing the same sort of thing in the sideways flash.

For example Sayid.

On the island he was hunting down people and killing them while in his sideways flash he was doing the same thing.

Has anyone noticed this with the other people ?

Also there was an answer tonight. Subtle but still an answer.

It seemed like whenever a person on the island was pondering "what if" they would "slip" sideways.

And when sideways when they were pondering something they would "slip" back to the island.

That's what I saw at least. And I've noticed it before.

And now it seems the ones inside the temple are the ones from flight 316 that landed with the plane and the ones that flashed from the plane are now outside with Flocke.

And Kate. she was in the pit with Claire while smokey went through the temple. When she got outside Flocke seemed surprised. Which smokey was that we saw zooming past Claire and Kate ?

Last observation.

It seems like Flocke has to send someone to do his bidding ( the evil side? ) and Dogan has to send someone to do his bidding ( good side).
It's good versus evil.

Question is. Which side is good and which is evil.

...richard has pretty eyes and does his eyeliner real good.

Actually, the actor that plays Richard does not wear eyeliner. Those are his natural eyes. You see him anywhere else, he has those very dark "sexy" eyes.

Why was Jacob killed so easily yet it is so difficult to kill Flocke?

Remember, when Togan sent Sayid to kill Flocke he told him (paraphrased) "you must kill him before he speaks." Flocke walked up to him in the jungle and said something, then Sayid shoved the dagger in Flocke's chest, which did not kill him. Now, I don't know about Jacob, whether or not he spoke to Ben before he killed him, we'll have to watch that part again.

I'm not convinced the show is about good vs. evil as much as it's about faith (Jacob) vs. reason (un-Locke).

Funny to read through all the opinions of where Lost is headed. I'm thinking that no one will be right. It's surprising that no one has leaked the ending.

All I'm hoping is that the ending of Lost doesn't turn out to be another lame one like Seinfeld's.

No matter what they do, it will probably be the biggest disappointment in TV history.

Well, few (if any) answers but some nice progression is going on.

I wish I could find the link now, but someone sent me an article about why they shouldn't answer everything using Star Wars as evidence. In the original films they didn't answer anything about it but just laid it all down from the start "it binds us, blah blah". Then they tried to explain the science behind it in the new films and it felt like a cop-out.
All I'm hoping for is what the island is for, why Jacob and the MIB are there and why the candidates are such.

Tell you what though... I know they said the "ticket" noise in the smoke monster comes from a NY taxi but after watching the first series again there's a very similar sound from Lockes first flashback.

Unlike the rest of the world, I thought the Seinfeld ending was brilliant, they came up with a great way to bring together all the characters who were ever on the show. I don't know why it got such a bad rap.

For a show like lost the expectations are so sky high that any ending they can possibly hash up will be underwhelming. Kind of like the iPad lol :p

I don't think he was surprised as in he didn't notice her inside, in the pit...but it was more like a surprise that she was coming along to 'follow' him. That's what I think his look and behavior conveyed to me. He didn't expect her, and this may actually be a complication for him.

He may or may not have 'seen' her in the pit in my opinion. Didn't even come into my thinking...but think back to previous 'smokey' encounters. There were times when people could easily hide within a bunch of trees and lose him. If the Kate thing really bothers you, just think about 'smokey' having poor eyesight. :D

I've just went back and watch Lockes first flashback in Season 1 Episode 4 (Walkabout). You're right - the noise seems to come from a calculator (printing onto paper) that Locke uses.

Can't believe there have been subtle points like this!

No - I believe that award goes to the ending of the BSG remake. Great series. Bad ending. It seemed as though they were making it up as they went along.

At least with Lost, we get teases about plot points a few years in advance. It at least makes it plausible that the showrunners have a grand plan. Not that they actually do...

Blasphemy! Take it back! Take it baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!

I think the un-locke was surprised cause Kate is one of the candidates, and he either didn't expect her to be alive or to even be there.

I am curious why the Japanese guy was looking for Shepperd and Reyes though.

I'm really losing my patience with this show.... they keep advertising that answers will be revealed.... where were my friggin' answers tonight?:p

Stop holding your breath, you're just going to turn blue and pass out. Seriously, we are going to get some kind of open ended finale. Just accept it now and it will be much easier to deal with in the future.

I'm still hoping for the Hugo psychosis ending with all of the characters being people he has crossed paths with at some point in his life. I'm sure it won't happen, but at this time it seems like the only ending that could possibly make any sense.

I think it's something related to Hugo too. He was afterall the one who was "told" the "numbers". I think he'll wake up on the plane with this all being a dream, or as you said, psychosis.

Maybe Hugo will wake up in bed, next to Suzanne Pleshette and say he just had the weirdest dream.

I'll tell you what happens to Hugo, he becomes the next Richard.
Think about it, in season 4 Ben and Locke need him to find Jacob's Cabin and this season he's the only one who can see him, relays orders from Jacob to Dokken, and takes Jack to see Jacob.
He even used one of Richard's lines when he told Jack "it doesn't work that way (dude)" when Jack was urging to see Jacob immediately.

I picked up on this because the way Sayid said it stood out for me, but when he woke up he asked "What happened?". In todays episode when Sayid came back the jungle the Japanese guy asked him "What happened?". Tiny thing but there does seem to be dialogue mirrors going on.

I'm not convinced the show is about good vs. evil as much as it's about faith (Jacob) vs. reason (un-Locke).

I see it as Destiny vs. Free Will, but I've really just stopped trying to guess the direction.

I do like the ew.com blog as he really goes off on tangents and does pop up with a few of the "things I missed" or was too stupid to realize at the time.

So Dugen claims Flocke is Evil (incarnate) and tells his sad tale of losing a child in a car accident. One thing I thought was interesting was that they were given a choice (pact with the Devil in exchange for your soul?) by Jacob in each instance. At least in Dugen and Sayids cases.

Claire who seem so determined to Kill Kate if she truly did take Aaron, seemed indifferent and helped Kate survive Smokey in the hole. She completely ignored her when they were leaving the temple. There seems to be some manipulation or at the very least the fulfillment of a promise that stops her.

I did love when Sayid stabbed Flocke... The look on his face was priceless!

In the Flash Sideways, was that the same restaurant that they stored Locke in before coming back to the island?

Where did we see that Mobster before on Lost, he seemed familiar, but I couldn't place him (was he one of the soldiers with Jacks Dad in the military?).

Claire needs a trip to the spa. She still looks like she was raised by wolves.
When Claire reappeared a couple of episodes back, there were a number of threads on the IMDb "Lost" forum discussing her appearance (e.g. saying that she looked bad or was "fat"). I LOL'd (literally) last night when Miles told Kate that Claire was back and "still hot". :D I know that they must have filmed this episode many weeks back now, but it still felt like a comeback to those Claire-haters.

Yes, that was a very strange turnabout. And like mstrze noted earlier, the MiB seemed surprised but not especially alarmed to see her walk out with Claire. Very curious.

Kimmie (Keamy?), he was the leader of the redshirts from the freighter. Was always an all-out bad guy it seems.

im starting to think that now that FLocke has so many followers it will take more than one person to "defeat" him and that it will end up being Jack and Sawyer working together (reconciling their differences) with some guidance from Hugo to achieve this... all in all I believe Sawyer will play a big part in saving everyone.

Also Claire has bigger plans for Kate and may have not tried to kill her because she now realizes she needs Kate to get Aaron back... and I wonder if she is realizing that Flocke has been lying to her about the others having Aaron since Kate told her she took him off the island...

Yes, I thought that was a nice touch by the writers. I guess they do that to show how close all of the 815ers are to each other.

Los Angeles sure is a wacky town.......

I'm not holding my breath....... I'm just shaking my head and rolling my eyes. The preview for this week's episode couldn't show anything because it would ruin all the answers they were going to provide. They didn't really provide much in the way of answers this week. We learned more last week than we did this week. IMO, they could have shown a typical preview. I don't like being ****teased.:D

I'm fine with whatever ending they came up with. The only bit of redemption, no matter what the ending, is the knowledge that it was planned out years in advance and that they aren't making it up as they go (or they aren't testing out different endings to see which one tests better).

I think the smoke monster that was killing everybody in the temple was Sayid.

First off Sayid came in and warned everybody to leave or they would die.
People started rushing here and there and we lost track of Sayid after he killed Dogan and Lennon. This made him "evil incarnate"
There was that ring of ash around the temple that kept the smoke monster from entering. Claire could enter because she wasn't taken over by smokey. Sayid was still part good/part evil Or whatever you want to call it.

The scene then turns to the outside where we see FLocke and the group that left. Then Sayid, claire and Kate walk out. FLocke looks at Sayid and Sayid sort of nods his head like "it's done".

I still believe there are more than one smoke monster.
