I'll be honest, I hope they don't come back, at least not Michael. His character made me absolutely crazy. Everytime he showed up on screen he did something stupid while he yelled out "WALT!" or "MY BOY!"

However, I do think they made entirely too huge a deal out of Walt to just drop his character on the floor....

I agree completely about Michael--I just want him to come back long enough to get what's coming to him  !

I just had a bad thought about the Walt issue, though. Way back when, Walt was the "special" one with extraordinary powers on the island (and even in Australia). But that seems to be Locke's story line now. Could it be that the writers adapted the story originally meant for Walt to Locke's character. I mean, I'm enjoying Locke's sotry line, but that would mean Walt won't ever come back (at least not in a meaningful way--maybe just a guess appearance or two to tie up loose ends).

Did anyone here see Real Genius? That scene kind of reminded me the first time Lazlo popped out of the closet. Mitch was like "Uh Hey..."

How would you react if some weird dude popped out of your dorm room closet?
I know this is off topic, but since you brought it up: I remember how funny it was when I realized that the actor who played Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite was Lazlo from Real Genius.

Hard to put my finger on why, but I found this week's episode quite compelling! I'm not sure what to make of Sawyer/Locke murdering his dad... felt a bit like John selling his soul to the others. It was bizarrely cultish when they all gathered 'round, wasn't it?

That closing image with John slinging the body over his shoulder was pretty rich in metaphor.

I keep thinking "Juliet is acting like a good guy, so they want me to think she's a good guy, so she's going to turn out to be a bad guy."

Then I think "Now Juliet is acting like a bad guy, so they want me to think she's a bad guy, so she's going to turn out to be a good guy."

Then back again. Then back again.

At this point, I don't care which it is. I'm just marking time waiting to find out.

When did we last see Rose and Bernard? I can't remember. Are they still alive? Hey -- maybe they are expecting a child, so the Others took them away, and that's why we never see them! :)

Little old for children aren't they?

And I know what you're saying about Juliet- I just wanna know which side she is on.

I thought the "I hate you Ben" ending to the tape was evidence that was a good guy, but being forced into doing bad things for the Others.

I can't remember series 1 all that well, but if Russeou hadn't warned the survivors about the Others; would they have seen the Others as a threat or as help?

I think they had already begun to view them as a threat-- they did very early on snatch some of the survivors away during the night and whatnot. And when some of them saw them in the jungle, they were still costumed in that tattered-clothing and perceived as "wild" and super-stealthy, almost not quite human, IIRC.

I'm not sure what to make of Sawyer/Locke murdering his dad...

I've been wondering about what Ben said... "Your not the person we thought you were"

I keep getting the feeling there's some sort of prophecy to be fulfilled, and they all thought it was Locke... The twist being Sawyer was also his son and did go through with killing the Dad. So maybe Sawyer is the person they are really seeking, they just don't know it. Perhaps the prophecy has something to do with Ben's downfall and a change of leadership?

I don't buy the explanation of embarrassment.

Then again I think about this show more often than I should...

I like it when the writers pay attention to details and use them in the plot. This was clever:
Sawyer: "I'm pointing my gun at you, John-Boy. You got 3 seconds to open this door."
Locke: "You're not going to shoot anyone, James.
Sawyer: "One... two..."
Locke: "If there were any bullets in that gun, why would you hold a knife to my throat?"
I noticed a possibly-very-clever ambiguity in the closing dialog:
Sawyer: "Is it true?"
Locke: "Is what true?"
Sawyer: "That he threw you out a window. That you are a cripple."
Locke: "Not any more."
The straightforward meaning would be that not any more is he a cripple. But it could be that not any more was he thrown out a window, i.e., the past is no longer true.

Sawyer isn't the son. Lockes dad killed Sawyers Dad.

Sawyers dad killed his mom then himself because Lockes Dad took all the money. I could have sworn that he also got her pregnant with James (Sawyer)... Too many details to keep up with lately.

I think you're reading wayyy to much into it, but then again, sometimes doing so is necessary to make sense of what's going on in the show.

Was I the only one to hear about Lost ending in the next 2 seasons? Saw something about it on Friday's E! News, then again on a web site. ABC might say something about this by this week.:(

This is good news! The longer these writers go on making stuff up, the worse this show is going to become. If they set a definitive finale date, they can better write a complete wrap up.

I would hate for it to go three seasons and get cancelled for running out of steam.

good point, never thought of it that way. 2 thinkg i have to know before it ends 1. where did the polar bear come from? (been driving me nuts since season 1) 2. where is Walt? oh and as long as charlie doesn't die, i'll hang in with them for as long as it's on.

Yea a definite end would be such a nice thing. It's a great show and all, but even good shows dwindle. Victor got hit by a car, Tim got the girl, Sam woke up but didn't want to live in that world anymore, Dawn got married, Harriet found Johnathan... (You win if you know what shows they are from.)

That means there will be 125 45 minute episodes in total? Yowzers!
