Yes, as far as I was concerned.

Also.. did I miss what happened to Ben's little friend?

One of the gassed bodies looked a lot like her. Don't know for sure, but I'd assume it was her (either that or she died in the attack but was not shown).

Well, if they think Locke is fulfilling a prophecy because he killed his father then Locke is obviously not the one they are looking for. Although, it is Richard who told Locke to get Sawyer involved.

Maybe to fulfill the prophecy you don't kill your father. I mean, Ben might have been the leader of the others for a while now but maybe the reason he doesn't heal now is because he killed his father. He was greedy for power and for that the island won't heal him.

Locke couldn't do it because he was a good honest man. This is the very reason why the island has healed him of his paralysis.

It's like that old parable in bible where god asked whoever it was to kill his only son, but before he went through with it god told him it was only a test.

This could also explain why the mothers keep dying. They want and expect something from the island. Maybe the island only grants its gifts to people who don't expect it.

Also it could be said that the island turned against the "others" because Ben killed his father. The island offered the people paradise and the people exploited it.

Then again i haven't seen this episode yet so i can't really comment :D

Which makes me wonder. Why are the others/hostiles bringing more people to the Island. Also they are all possibly very old.

Their age may be the primary reason that they cannot seem to bear children. Given their longevity (enhanced or natural) they may put off procreating to enjoy their extended lives, not realizing that they are essentially senior citizens trying to conceive/give birth. The longevity may also mask their true age making the dying more of a mystery to the outsiders who were brought in to figure out why they can't conceive.

Just a thought... If some people couldnt age on the island then it would be impossible for a fetus to mature. But that doesnt explain Claire. Maybe there are exceptions?

...haha, kinda beaten to it... maybe they really arent aging but neither are the babies.

Claire was well into her pregnancy before she arrived on the island...

The current "others" seem to be a possible mix of Rebel Dharmites, and "Hostiles".

Though remember back when we FIRST saw the "others" (when Jin and someone.. don't remember who) were hiding in the bushed and all we saw were dirty bare feet, dirty pants, and a teddy.

Notice that the "hostiles" when they attacked the Dharma camp were similarly outfitted.

But now.. they all have clothing. But yet, Jin and whomever still saw that they saw.. which makes me wonder if again, there are more "Hostiles" that aren't part of the current "others".

And finally.. this is Peter Pan and the Lost Boys 2007. Neverneverland trying to grow up.

:D

It was abraham if you're wondering... and his son was Issac.

Do we have any evidence that any other "others" were brought over like Juliet (and Ben) or were they all previously "hostiles"?

B

Mikhail claimed to have only been there a few years. Then again he might be a Dharma person who survived and made peace. The guy in the hatch with Desmond as well might have been a dharma hold over.

I wonder when Rousseau came to the island before or after the Hostile's putsch.

The last couple of episodes have definitely been interesting, however I still feel the biggest development is the fact that the entire Oceanic 815 plane (or whatever the flight # was) was found with everyone inside. This means the island is not really a physical place but something on a different level. Locke's dad claimed it was hell, obviously that's not true. Also, there was some awards show spoof where they made a joke about Lost being purgatory, so I don't think that's it either.

Not sure that's fact. As someone else pointed out on this thread, Hanso appears to be a HUGE corpwith $ and massive PR outlets, and it might not be hard for them to pay someone (or do it themselves?) to say "hey, we found the flight, but it's in 14,000 feet of water, oh and BTW everyone is there", just to allay all suspicion and further searching to keep the island safe.

Plus, we only have the word of that new girl on that.

Beyond that...

At some point something must have happened to force the rebel dharmites/hostiles to start doing the work of the Dharmites. Otherwise, why are they still getting supplies from the Dharmites, and possibly their financial backing from Hanso? I wonder what happened them? What was so unique about they island that allowed them to start working for Hanso/Dharma?

Or as we mentioned earlier, a duplicate plain with bodies was planted and "found" so that the search for the real flight 815 would stop. Which, to me, is a better/more plausible explanation.

If a plane goes down off course over the ocean the chances of finding the wreckage are small, even less likely with all the bodies accounted for.

Or, the most plausible explanation, the helicopter pilot either lies or got fed faulty info and there is no duplicate plane.

I don't buy it. Either a plane was found that made worldwide news, or the pilot/search team sent out by Penelope and is only looking for Desmond was fed the information "just in case" they ran into survivors from 815? I think it's a safe bet that Penelope is working on finding Desmond without her father's consent so the search party is probably off the radar.

I would say it's more believable that there was a plane/survivors found and it made the news to prevent other people from searching for possible survivors, or at least the media all reported that a plane was found.

Plane crashes in the middle of the ocean. Fishing boat reports seeing it go down. They report bodies and wreckage everywhere. By the time they get back to shore and rescue teams get back its all sunk. No evidence left at the site. The boat didn't radio it in because the radio was broken.

Missing plane, fishermen with no reason to lie, wreckage so far down that even Clive Cussler isn't interested in fishing it out. The authorities say screw it and write it off as lost with all souls.

As I said they either found a plane with bodies or the media reported that one was found. I find it hard to believe that the helicopter pilot is in on the conspiracy or was fed specific information by someone in on the conspiracy, at any rate, I think most everyone in the world thinks the plane was found and all bodies are accounted for.

Thats easy. The hostiles are still doing the work of the Dharmites (ie pressing the button etc) so that Hanso will think the Dharma Initiative is still on, and therefore will keep dropping beer.

If they do anything to alert Hanso then Hanso will check up on them instead of dropping chocolate bars.

Interesting....I like that theory.

But didn't the heli pilot specifically say that they found ALL the bodies on the plane?
So you think the media/authorithies are lying out of laziness?

Out of laziness or the official team that found the plane is under the thumb of Dharma, or whoever is behind the whole conspiracy so according to official reports all the bodies were found.

Yeah, which makes Locke blowing up the station a Really Bad Thing™.

Except it's clear that they have plenty of cash looking at the facilities on the mainland when they recruited Julia. Plus, I imagine it takes more than pushing a button to convince Hanso that the bills were worth it. :)
