I vote for "hyterical paraplegia" due to extreme stress (being robbed of a kidney, and 2 parents).

I've rethought this comment.. at least.. to me (and I've not watched the show from the first episode (my bad! )), Locke seemed pretty knowledgable about a lot of 'survivalish' things. I would think there's a lot of back story between getting kidney-robbed and the plan crash.

Which character/back story do you find the most and least interesting so far? The black lady has no back story yet, so she's out.

A helpful hint: Watch the show with your closed captioning turned ON. Even though my hearing's perfect, I've learned to listen AND read the captions for all of my favorite shows... it's better than just listening. :)

haha, now that could be considered cheating! that's great though, i'll remember that next time i get stuck, thanks!

Yes, especially since when we first saw him he was at the box company filling out TPS reports. Also in the flash backs he didn't have the eye scar.

finally got to watch the show last nite...another good one. i find locke to be the most interesting character. maybe its because he truly understands the island...and he's seen the "monster".

the mousetrap set-up was nice...as was jack's medical exam of sawyer.

btw, jack was supposed to be the first character to die( in the first or second episode) and he was going to be played by micheal keaton. a bit of trivia...

I guess because they got a cheaper actor they could budget him into more shows...

Wow... this week's episode might have been even better than last week's. Love the quote: "Don't tell me what I can't do!" ... spoken by Jack instead of Locke.

More later after the Lefties get their chance to watch the show. :)

We're close to the season finale (a 2 hour season finale, mind you).

Too bad there wasn't anything about Locke and his secret capsule yet...

It's not a big surprise, but I'm happy to have read today that Lost was renewed for next season.

It's funny to think that we now have a new character who is 0 days old but nevertheless has a back story we don't know, because the baby was missing along with Claire for a while and could have been affected some way we have yet to learn.

I think I saw some new faces among the crowd when Clair has a crowd gathered to see the baby. Maybe we'll meet some of them eventually. We're gonna need some more characters whose histories we don't know.

Great episode. After last week's opus, I couldn't wait until Friday to watch it on TiVo this week. I get home late from work, so I watched it in the middle of the night with my wife, who was up nursing the baby.

Interesting to see us lose one life and gain another.

Watch your local newsstand, starting tomorrow (Wednesday April 13), for MAD Magazine #453.

"Lost" made the cover!

Thank goodness there is finally a new episode tonite. I can hardly remember what the show is about. Let's see, I think it's either people from a cruise ship that got marooned on an island or maybe people stuck in a hotel in Rwanda.

But wait, the "new" episode is actually a catch-up episode for people who missed previous portions:
Lost will air a special one-hour retrospective entitled "Lost: The Journey" on the show's regular timeslot on April 27. The special will be a re-telling of the backstories of central characters in linear fashion, with a segment on the island as well. After that, all Wednesdays of May will have new episodes of Lost, with a two-hour season finale airing on May 25.

well here's looking forward to May, I think I'll skip the catch up episode, but I look forward to a (hopefully) new Alias..

Whoo... the promo they just showed for the upcoming new episodes included:

- Jack attacking Locke ("Where were you?") over Boone's death.
- Shannon telling Sayid that "Locke killed my brother".
- Jack finding that the key to the gun case (normally worn around his neck) is gone.
- What LOOKS like Locke being shot.

Can't wait!

Yeah and thank goodness for Tivo so I didn't actually sit there and watch that whole "filler" episode.

Thanks for the reminder, Clay. My TiVo would remember, for sure, but I'll want to remember to watch it tonight. Looks like it will be a good one, at least from the previews. It will be nice to have 4 new ones in a row.

good show tonite.

i'm really beginning to not like jack...starting to nerve on me like he did in " party of five"...i know, i know, but the mrs made me watch it.

anyway, looks like the next 4 weeks are gonna be good.

tidbit...don't know if anyone else read the interviews with the actor that played boone. he came off as quite a jerk regarding his character being killed off...so....very mild spoiler: you won't be seeing him in the season finale flashbacks...talk about biting the hand...

Good Sayid character development.

I loved the bit with Charlie following Sawyer around holding Claire's baby. Hurley's singing, however, I could do without.

Yeah but that's Hurley...

I love how the show is put together how the flashback just fit in with the story. For instance how Locke said something like "I know what you gave up to do this" right after you see his sacrifice for his friend.

In case anyone has forgotten, the first of 4 new episodes (leading up to the season finale) airs tonight!

I heard this also, but how come the commercial after the episode said next weeks is the season finale?

And Locke got his scar in the first episode because of the accident.

I thought he got it from the transplant? I didn't watch that episode unfortunately, so my recolection is very suspect, as in I don't have any. :(

Why would Sayid be so interested in the blond if his "heart" is with the girl in San Fran? He is smart and still believes he can get off the island, kind of early to be romancing a survivor if his heart is with the San Fran girl. One of the many plot themes that seem to be written the day before shooting, then forgotten.

There are alot of loose ends that I hope they wrap up this year and find a focus. This show is harder to watch each week, wish I had a TiVo, and just watch them all oneday!
