She's been absent in like the last 12 episodes or so. Maybe a 2 second clip of her somewhere in there would be enough to satisfy viewer's curiosity. I'm going to write to Jay Abraham and give him a piece of my mind.

1 hour to go until part 1 of the season finale, Exdous, airs on the East Coast.

Looks very, very interesting. I am psyched! :D

I now have my blinders on (peeking out between my fingers so I can type this). I don't read this thread after the show starts in the east, until the show ends in the west.

Wow. That was a nice kick-off to the finale - I was pleased with just about all of it, including Sawyer telling Jack about his dad.

What was up with her calling the ship the "black rock," unless that's the name of the ship?

Can't wait until next week - looks like it will be a good one. Something tells me it's going to be a long summer waiting for the season premier.

I assumed that was the name of the ship. But just how far inland is it?

Seeing Jin and Sun reconcile made me worry. I just had a feeling that it was being settled in case we lose Jin on the raft. After all, the raft will either return with everyone intact or we'll lose somebody in the process. A successful rescue mission certainly wouldn't be a good for the plot!

I think Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim are both good actors and hope they'll both stay with us.

The little interaction in the airport between Shannon and Sayid was a nice little touch. She's delightfully annoying.

That was what was written on the back of the ship

French Chick said something about it being another 5km ahead. A Tsunami or Rouge Wave could have done it. 50-75 really motivated people could probably do the portage.

Even without the reconciliation as long as its obvious that he is going on the raft as penance it works with him dying. I figure it will work out like that episode of Gilligan's Island when Skipper and Gilligan set off on the raft and end up on the far side of the island.

She's a spoiled brat who needs to be spanked...

Missed that. Watched it on the downstairs TV, which really is too small for those details.

Okay - I'll volunteer for that job.

Well it seems like the so-called "Monster" is a security system that goes off when something gets near what its trying to protect on the island. Hopefully we'll soon know what it exactly is, and what it is trying to protect. Hopefully with next weeks two-hour finale a lot of questions will be answered, and they will finally get that hatch open.

I think Danielle said it was protecting the island, not something on the island. Whatever that means. Can anybody confirm?

I'm actually hoping we never see it. there is no way they could make it look as good as the rest of the show is. I like not knowing.

*grrr.....im a scary dinosaur"

I finally got to see Part 1.

The Black Rock looked to be at least 150 years old and maybe much older. I didn't get the impression that it was Danielle's ship, but maybe I missed something. I could've sworn that we've seen Danielle's ship before, and that wasn't it.

"Security system" makes me think the monster is a giant motion-detecting robot.

A superb episode. Can't wait till next week's two hours. Might have to take work off or something.

might as well bump this thread now.... :D

season finale' tonight.

will "the others" steal turniphead? yes

will the raft return? no

will they blow open the pod? yes

will we see what's in it? no

will someone else die? yes

if so, who? boone's sister or teacher guy

my predictions are there if you highlight.

dang, this is gonna be good.

Based on the previews, there's some good action that will happen on the raft, and at least Locke appears to see the security system (or perhaps the "others").

When I think of the "others" I wonder if it's the descendants from the Black Rock who have created their own warped society over time. I could see why they would want the child - to expand the gene pool without worrying about the "contamination" of new people's ideas (i.e., if they kidnapped adults).

Can't wait! I don't think we'll be disappointed.

I'm telling you it's all a big scam. They'll blow open the tank, and Jeff Probst will be in there laughing his ass off.

Then they'll kill him.

No no no, it will be that annoying Verizon wireless guy. "Can you hear me now?"

Come to think of it, I haven't seen him in a commercial recently...

About two hours to go on the East Coast...

I'm pumped up. Perhaps tonight they will find the others...but not the evil others...the other people on the plane?

Hmmm...

Awesome season ender! (BTW I hope it's safe to post now it should have started in the West coast by now). I must say it really got off to a shockingly explosive start! ;) Of course like any good season ender it actualy answered very little or left you on the cusp of discovery. My prediction is next year will be spent figuring out what the hell that dark mist is all about, and exploring the hatch. The kidnapping of the boy will probably be resolved by November sweeps!
