IANAD but, I was surprised at the shape of the incision. I figured it would be vertical and more to the back.
The side location actually makes sense to me... you don't have to worry about ribs quite as much if you go in from the side.

And I guess we know now that he gave up his left kidney.

Yes, but could that be important later? With this show you never not what is important and what is trivial. And what was trivial might become inportant.

It is interesting to me that Locke worked in a box factory in Tustin, CA and Sayid's girlfriend now lives in Irvine, CA which is basically the next city over.

Born To Run airs tonight...all about Kate.

A lot of people seem to dislike Kate, but personally she is one of my favorite characters.

I am very excited.

Only 98 minutes to go! Thank God for a night off and Dish Network's WABC feed to the West Coast.

Great episode tonight. I enjoyed the rivalry between Locke and Jack. Walt is giving me the creeps. What do you think is in the hatch? Time machine? Abandoned underground nuclear test site (hence Walt's warning)? I feel very sad for Jin, although what she did was a little desperate, even if Kate goaded her into it.

As far as liking/trusting Kate, I think the show tries very hard to raise our suspicions about her, but in the end I think she'll be redeemed. That being said, my opinion of her went way down tonight. Charging a police car and manipulating someone else into an act of poisoning are reasons one and two. But again, maybe if we knew her whole story we'd understand why she's so desperate to escape the authorities.

Charlie's getting a haircut allows the actor to play other roles while filming Lost. Sooner or later that heroin is going to be a big temptation.

My wife tells me they are going to expand the cast, focus on some heretofore unseen survivors. She thought maybe the high school science teacher/climatologist might be one of them. At this point though, he seems to be nothing more than another lucky catch, right up there with doctor, hunter, and herbologist.

The preview for next week's episode looked really good.

I have a theory as to how the series will eventually end ...

Well the "scenes" from the next Lost were pretty ominous.

IMO, the "hatch" is Pandora's Box. Litterally. What does it contain?
Souls? Aliens? Amelia Earhart?

I have no earthly idea..

But it's not good.

That is mostly Jack realizing he isn't the big dog. I loved how Sayid brought Jack to try and convince Locke to bury the thing.

But how could you hate her with those freckles... :)
She's done a lot of bad things. Her refusal to accept responsibility is one of the biggest problems. I want to know though how the plane got from the back seat into the safety deposit box. Kinda obvious how it got into the case. Whats next it gets taken by "the Others" into underground bunker thing and she opens it up trying to get it back.

Does the baby have a name beyond Turniphead? When they get back to civilization will that name stick or at the very least be put onto a birth certificate?

Michael is a good catch too. As a construction worker he has a lot of valuable skills.

I want to see one with flashbacks from Rousseau.

The walk across to the far side of the island and find out that its actually the edge of New Zealand and Lucy Lawless accidentally decapitates Locke?

The walk across to the far side of the island and find Gilligan in a 3 way with Mary Anne and Ginger?

ROFL.

They walk to the other side and find Survivor... oh wait thats another network... nevermind. ;)

Who's got an opinion on what will happen when the raft sets out to sea? Giant storm? Sea serpent? Mermaid sightings? The food washes overboard so they draw straws to decide who is going to be eaten? They quickly spot The Love Boat and are rescued?

I expect we'll be left with a life-or-death cliffhanger to tease us over the summer, not knowing who survives as they limp back to the island.

Definitely a wild episode - especially with Walt. What's with his "powers of perception" or whatever? At the end, when he tells Michael "they have to leave" was interesting.

As for Kate - she seems a little shady, especially given the latest light shed on her past. I asked my wife how the plane got into the envelope in the safe deposit box. She thought Kate grabbed it as she ran off, but I don't remember even a hint of that.

With regards to what happens with the raft - I'll be interested to see how they plan to bring enough food and water for 4 people on there for any length of time. You have to figure it could be weeks before they are located, if that. My guess is that when they sail off, that's the last we'll see of the raft this season.

She didn't grab it, which I had been expecting her to do. So I assume that she went back for it, despite the risk of being caught, because it meant so much to her, and she got it, but got caught in the process, which we know happens somehow because she was in custody on the plane. The big plane that is, not the toy one! :)

But she was being extradited to the US from Australia. She was in the US when she robbed the bank to get the plane from the safe deposit box, right? Possibly the dead dude's wife put it there?

my predictions.

my theory is that somehow walt gets seperated from the raft and micheal...leaving walt to be fought over by jack and locke...i can only hope that micheal gets eaten by a great white-he so nerves on me. locke obviously recognises walt's gift and will try to develope it.

jack certainly has some authority issues so that will played up to the hilt with locke. ntm, locke doesn't want to leave the island( which would possibly mean returning to a wheelchair) so he can't help but become the bad guy.

sawyer and sweetcheeks will have one more fling before the raft leaves possibly giving sawyer a reason to stay.

charlie, claire and turniphead will fade into the background for awhile as the island's happy family unit.

there will be a few more characters introduced including a female cutie now that claire's settled down and kate's an outcast. gotta have the hottie factor for some friction..figuratively speaking...

my guess is the season ends with the hatch/pod being opened now that everbody knows about it. how? i don't know. maybe locke can bang and cry on it again and the light will turn on and...

oops, forgot about frenchie and "the others"...maybe turniphead isn't so safe. maybe that's why he hasn't been named.

Maybe you stumbled upon the solution yourself. If Danielle Rousseau washed her hair, she might look more like Mira Furlan, who plays her. Just avoid the Babylon 5 costumes.

She looks like she could be Liz Hurley's older sister.

I hope they expand on his character, but I don't see how they won't. He is a fairly well known actor, to me at least. He was in the Mort and Mindy documentary a little while ago, and who remembers Cliff from Matlock?
