that was one hell of a good episode, it looks like the lull in the past few episodes is over and we are back to some real action now!

it was good to see mr. echo's past, looks really interesting!

Back on page 43 of this thread I accurately predicted Eco's connection to the crashed drug smuggling plane. Im probably going out on a limb here but, I am going to stick to my original prediction that he WAS on the plane but was killed in that crash and now walks the island as a ghost or angel. This will later explain why the "black cloud" in the most recent episode did not do anything to him......;) ;)

I dont think Eko was on the plane at all. He was the remaining survivor of the Nigerian missionary drug smuggling plane from the earlier episodes. Hes been on the island for quite some time....

Spoooooky. :p

Quoted so people don't have to look back through pages. :)

Hate to debunk your theory freeny, but Locke has also come into contact with the 'monster' aka black cloud with no consequences.

I completely disagree with Eko being a ghost. As you clearly see in the flash back he wasn't on the drug running plane at all.

I think he actually did become a priest, and/or very spiritual after his brother's death and thats where the quoting religious texts came in.

Cant explain yet why I believe this when they clearly show him NOT getting on the plane. But I get the feeling hes not alive. I guess we will soon see.....

Just finished watching the latest episode, I must say it was VERY good. Just a couple of points that struck me:

- I think the idea about the others using another computer under the guise of Walt is a good theory, but it doesn't seem very like them, why would they want Michael? why use a computer?

- Locke knows that Michael is planning something, as per usual he isn't going to stop him.

- Looks like black-smoke monstery thing sees 'into' people and then decides what to do with them. The images of Eko's past were fantastic.

- Charlie is an idiot.

- Tension between Jack & Kate after the kiss.

- When Mr. Eko found his brother and the subsequent ~5 minutes I shed some tears.

Yup you've totally got the durg smuggling one. Sorry for not beliving you earlier.

Although, I am still not convince that he came with the plane because on the flash back where Eco tried to smuggled the drug out of Nigeria as a preist he was kicked out of the plan by his buddy because they want all the money. I think that he was just trying to find his buddy who betrayed him and/or his brother to get the drug and/or the money in the US. I still believe that he came with the crashing plane.

Your theory does give pretty good explaintion about the clouds though. I have no idea what the heck is going on with that monster cloud .

Anyhow, well done on the drug smuggling part. ;)

Cheers.

Are any of them alive?

Of late I've been thinking of the island as Limbo. Everyone is dead. The "good" / innocent have gone on to their reward. So have the "evil"/guilty. The characters on the island have yet to choose their path. Eko faced the reaper last week. All those faces in the smoke were the balance of his actions. His life flashing before his eyes. The only reason he wasn't devoured was his acceptance of his brother's mantle as a priest. It's his last chance at redemption if you will.

Or something like that. And no, I don't believe a word of it. :p

Honestly, and this isn't a flame, this is one of the worst shows on tv now..very contrived and overall silly...

the creators of lost explicitly stated in the lost podcast that they are NOT in purgatory, and everything has a scientific explanation

What's a good show then?

I thought tonight's episode was superb, I just wish they engaged the 'others' in more of a conversation.

That's good to know. Perhaps I should look into the metadiscussion of the show more, as I only know what I've seen.

Frankly, I like the idea of an artificially generated quantum singularity better anyway. Think of all the fun you can have with a gravity laser! :D

I like JJ Abrams Alias much much better....more intrigue....

Thanks for pointing out the images from the black cloud Lacero and thanks for the link to the images stonyc.

Very spooky as others have said.

I would have played 20 questions with the bearded guy. Jack should have at least asked why they wanted Walt and took the others from the tail section.

I obviously knew that they were surrounded by the "Others."

10-4. I can't stand how they have not answered a single major question.

YET, Abrams continues to introduce new factors... the Others, their large numbers and amazing accuracy with a gun, their history, etc... the black smoke seeing into Eko's past...

PLEAAASE answer something, Abrams. plllleeeeeeaaaaase.

Don't know about worst show, but last night's episode is a real stinker. The plot is moving along like molasses. I nearly fell asleep.
Here's to the Crazy Ones

i dunno I thought last night's episode was alright. only two real issues with me:
A) The scenes with Jack cheating on his wife made me feel very uncomfortable
B) I got annoyed at Jack, Locke & Sawyer when they were supposed to be "talking" with the bearded "Other". I mean he's right there, TALK TO HIM! He told you not to cross this line, ASK HIM WHY! He says you're only alive because they let you be, ASK WHY!! He makes an analogy asking if you'd go into someone's house and take your shoes off, eat from their fridge, etc. TELL HIM YOUR PLANE CRASHED, WTF ELSE ARE YOU GONNA DO! The man can obviously talk, so have a reasonable conversation. It's not like the Island is going to be stretching its resources out here, there are only a couple dozen of them. Ask him why they have to be all Lord of the Flies, I mean come on, say something more that "I don't believe you," for a man who went through like 10 years of schooling to become a doctor, you'd think he'd have learn to question a few things. All of this left me almost yelling at the TV in frustration, but other than that, good episode lol

I really liked how Locke kept calling Sawyer "James." very funny. Anyone else wondering how Sawyer knew the "other"'s name. when he said "this ain't over Zeke" Like he knows him form somewhere. Or did he here his name when they took Walt from the raft?

i think it was just one of Sawyer's nicknames that he calls everyone...nothing more

WTF? That's all I can say.. WTF?

How could no one in the rescue group have asked the questions:

Who are you?
Why are you here?
Why are you taking people?
What is going on here?

Well good grief, I completely forgot that the show was on last night. Oh well. I suppose it will be up on iTunes soon if it isn't already.

Who's saying they didn't ask? They cut from "Zeke" telling Locke to build them a fire and the next time they cut back there was a fire going. It would be kind of boring to have the questions asked just to have "Zeke" respond with "I'm not telling you that" to every question.

Zeke was just a made-up name, as when Sawyer (oops I mean James) called Locke "Mr. Clean".

I used to be annoyed at the Sawyer character and interested in Jack's background. Last night I discovered that my opinion has reversed. I found myself yawning through Jack's continued back story, while rooting for Sawyer as he continued to wield his sarcastic tongue against the world.

Minor goof? - At the beginning of the episode, Jack was surprised to find Locke unconscious. Shortly afterward, Locke asked Jack how long he was out and Jack told him. How would Jack know the answer?

Finally, I wish Kate's character wasn't gradually turning weaker and that she'd stand up for herself as she used to. Strong characters in conflict are more interesting than ones who follow each other around meekly.
