Also noticed that with the name Ethan Rom you can change the letters around and get "more than" Relevant??

Kernow said:
You can also make 'Other Man'. It definitely looks like it should be an anagram.

Holy Carp... go to the site and get to the page referenceed earlier. (Pic included) You can move the letters around and place them in the blocks. As Kernow mentioned put in "Other Man" and see what happens. Freakish

I'm sure others have noticed this, but if you stay on that page (the one w/ the seating charts) and wait, eventually one seat will be highlighted. After clicking on it, some little clue/screenshot popped up. Then another one will be highlighted, etc.

Kind of interesting, a lot of them weren't very interesting but I'd like to know the significance of the bottle of alcohol (or whatever it was) that popped up when you click on Jack's name.

Could be about his father, who was an alcoholic, and was the reason that Jack was on the plane in the first place.

some latin translations:

Sursum corda (X 3): “Lift up your hearts.”

Aegrescit medendo: “The disease worsens with treatment. The remedy is worse than the disease.”

Malum consilium quod mutari non protest: “It’s a bad plan that can’t be changed.”

Cogito ergo doleo: “I think, therefore I am depressed.”

Ut sit magna, tamen certe lenta ira deorum est: The wrath of the gods may be great, but it certainly is slow.”

Nil actum reputa si quid superest agendum: “Don’t consider that anything has been done if anything is left to be done.”

Credo nos in fluctu eodem esse: “I think we’re on the same wavelength.”

Mus uni non fidit antro: “A mouse does not rely on just one hole.”

Liberte te ex inferis: “Save yourself from Hell.”

Hic sunt dracones: “There are dragons here.” (writing above CVIII)

So has anyone started thinking that maybe they aren't on an island?

Sayid never made it all the way around in his little walk, and I don't recall any of the other survivors making their way around the island.

The upper right corner of the map has the words "Roads or other routes of travel" might these be a connection to the "mainland," access routes for the Others? Might this be why that area of the "island" is off limits?

Sorry, haven't read all 1481 posts but wanted to add my thoughts...

Here are a couple of observations.

There is no 'monster'. What we think is the monster is in fact 'nanotechnology'. People and animals become infected with the 'nanobots' thus go crazy. The magnetic field is there to keep the nanobots within the confines of the 'island' - without the magnetic field the nanobots would 'escape' and infect the world. This is the secret Darma is wanting to hide

i think 'The Others' are Darma workers infected by the nanobots. And if the nanobots get near any of the hatches they go into 'lockdown' to protect the people inside, and only re-open once the nonobits are clear of the area.

The reason the facility went into 'lockdown' was because the nonobots (or The Others under guidance of the nanobots) moved the supplies to the hatch to entice the occupants out. The supplies were dropped on the opposite side of the island - as per usual practice - as this is probably where the central facility or 'main' hatch is located. That is why The Others don't want the survivors to enter that area of the island.

And for what it is worth, whatever remains off the island of Darma don't really care about the infected ex-workers as long as the bitton continues to be pushed. But you would think after all this time that Darma would have come up with a logo a little more modern? Maybe they don't exist anymore and the new supplies are old supplies...

Sleepy now, so will ponder some moe and get back to this later

that nanotech thoery is the craziest Lost theory I think i've ever heard

There is a reason I gave up on the wheel of time series and I had a lot more time and emotion invested in that.

Probably the same reason I did.. it got REALLY boring. Time just dragged by and I found myself dreading chapters dealing with the ladies.

And it seems that is/was Sayid's lady.

http://lost-and-gone-forever.blogspot.com/

Heh.. fun quote from the blog:

"Black lights – they’re not just for haunted houses and skating rinks anymore. They now reveal insane images on Blast Doors inside secret Hatches on mysterious Islands!"

Now I'm curious about the marking on the Shark.. which of the hatches did it belong to? I don't think it's any listed on the map.

And I don't remember seeing any symbols other than "Dharma" on the "hatch" (like-area) that the tailies were in.. Nevermind.. that's "The Arrow".

a couple observations:

-I take back what I said about the nanotechnology theory, it isn't far fetched at all. apparently the domain name smartdust.com has been registered, smartdust referring to computer controlled nanoparticles. this could be all smoke and mirrors, but it may be the right track. perhaps the 'infection' is the nanotechonogy and the vaccine is something that causes the nano particles to die within the body. not sure how that fits into the idea of the giant psychological experiment (which i'm convinced of, due to the Skinner box) but it's interesting anyway.

-also, the thing about the Black Rock/Magnus Hanso has me intriued to no end. IMO Magnus was an early explorer who crashed his ship on the island, discovering Joop and something special about the place, somehow he got off and later fathered a line of ancestors leading to the Hanso we know and love. I'm a colonial historian so this part is immensely interesting to me

Allow me to say:

OH
EHM
EHF
GEE

if you saw tonight's episode, you know what I'm talking about.

So, a mini-poll:

WTF is going on!?

edit: haha...lost-tv forum is too busy at the moment...I wonder why? :p

Predictable

That was the most predictable episode ever. Even when they cut to the twist at the end I wasn't surprised. But still it was nice to get some Hurly back story. I like that he isn't the one dimensional token "Fat Guy". And now we have a set up for what's her face.

that was a super episode. The imaginary bit I wasn't too surprised, but the end surprised me. I won't lie.

Also, love the actor who played the shrink. He rocks.

It was a boring episode as far as action and fun stuff to watch. But- it was "mentally stimulating" because it furthered some theories and created a few new ones for many. The show is an interesting journey.

Thats what Lost is all about!

I'm assuming it was a good one... I still have 35 minutes to go out here in west-coast-land.

Awesome ending to this episode, dude!

Now we know where the whole Lost story and all of these characters came from, right?

And why didn't Hurley know the name of the guy Libby talked about from the plane crash? Because he wanted himself to not know that, of course!

Just slightly odd that a lot of the story we've seen didn't involve Hurley.

Did you read Prey by Michael Crichton? I'm guessing you did (if not, you might be interested).

As for tonight's episode:
Was I the only one that pondered what it would have been like if the entire series ended with Hurley at the edge of that cliff? We never would know if it was all in his mind or not...

Yeah, a few people i was watching with asked if this was the show finale...

I shivered at the thought.

Haven't you seen that Buffy episode where this kinda thing happened? All misdirection. Or is it?

I don't know.

I was thinking it was like the last episode of St Elsewhere. I was also thinking that it was very Vanilla Sky.

That's exactly what I thought, too.

Interesting stuff in this ep...

- "Henry" admitting to be one of the Others (not that we didn't know already)
- "Henry" being less afraid of the "bearded guy" and more afraid of "Him" (also referenced by the bearded guy, Zeke, in Claire's episode)
- Sawyer getting beat up by Hurley... when he was clawing his way out from the tent and Hurley pulled him back in, I was waiting for Sawyer to start screaming like a girl
- "Henry" saying that nothing happened, he never pushed the button... but does he know about the map?
- What is Eko building? a church, maybe?
- Like Goodwin before him, "Henry" made the distinction that (he) there are -good- people... what does that mean?
