Which is why I went to Dr. Tomas Werner Mittlewerk's bio page. He would be the heir apparent to run the Hanso foundation if something happened to Alovar. There seems to be a strange text box (pictured in my previous post) in the middle of his biography that I cant get to do anything. It shows up both on my Mac in Safari and my PC in Firefox. I've tried varying combinations of the numbers, "Heir Aparent" Hanso, and various other lost related goodies to no avail. If anyone else figures something out let us know.

I also found that if you hang out on the Hanso site for awhile (not sure exactly how it's triggered) but there will be a little static burst (if sound is on) and the clock in the corner will switch from the time to a flickering OB:EY which if you click on it takes you to www.sublymonal.com. There is also another hidden clickable spot that sometimes appears (once again haven't figured out what triggers it) if you tab from the login box in the lower right you typically go to the upper left Hanso foundation logo as the next clickable field. I've been on some pages or somehow managed to get another link between those that I cannot see anywhere on the page. I have yet to figure out if it is significant.

this site is good for all the things that are going on with the lost experience:

http://www.thelostexperience.com/

that will tell you what to do with the box. before you can do it though you have to have done all the other things on that site - so go through the sign up for the newsletter etc...

i think it's an ad for Sprite, did anyone notice that the Hanso "fake" ad was "paid for by Sprite"? and on that sublymonal website the the heading is subLYMONal, as in "lemon". the word is "obey" as in "obey your thirst".

the site has too much traffic to go any further, so i can't be sure, but that's my theory.

Good call!

ok, so no one has talked about the psychic yet... that Eko went to see about the "miracle". wasn't that the same pyschic that Claire saw before she got on the plane to see the adoption parents? i think he told her to not get on it [the plane]?
That's what I gathered, too. Forgot to mention it here, but I did get to impress my boyfriend.

Can anyone point me to a site with detailed descriptions of the episodes? All the sites I've seen have just given the standard ABC cryptic episode description, anybody know of one that describes each show step by step??

On the Hanso foundation webpage (bios or otherwise) if you click Sound Off, the music stops, but white noise with a regular beat continues. Edit: I'm dumb, the white noise is from the sublymonal site that I had in the b/g.

On the Hanso foundation home page there's a link to a PDF "press release" apologising for disruption to the website:
(May 6, 2006) It has come to the attention of the Hanso Foundation that
our site is experiencing some sort of disruption. The Foundation gives
our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this has caused - we are
fixing the errors as quickly as we can and will shortly have the site
back in full working order again.
Users of the website can be assured that no data has been compromised,
and the user database has not been penetrated. The intruder has only
managed to breach the primary layer of the site.
Thank you, and namaste.
Hugh McIntyre
Communications Director

Edit: The below statements will be cryptic unless you sign up for the newsletter.

So I can't find the "call center" number. Anyone know what it is and what happens if you call it?

And Persephone apparently means "she who destroys the light"

In that same press release there's a number for Hugh McIntyre, Hanso's Communications Director. The number is 206-861-5017 (206 is an area code in Washington State?). That's the only phone number I've found in the whole website. I called it, and after a few musical chords, a woman's voice says "we're sorry, the number you have dialed is not working" or something to that effect. Then it says "message #3 G3PC1". Any ideas?

Also, at one point the clock in the upper-left corner stopped showing the time and it said OB:EY. If you clicked on it, it took you back to the subLYMONal site with the spinning TV screens.

Anyone? Bueller?

EDIT: HOLY CRAP! Have you seen the Joop live webcam for an extended period of time? A dark figure appeared for a couple of seconds, and looks quite creepy. Don't know what it means, but it repeats every few minutes or so. EEK!

I also can't figure out how to go beyond typing "heir apparent" in Mittlewerk's bio. Any suggestions?

Fact! The title bar of www.sublymonal.com has the letters LYMON capitalized.

Fact! "POLAR BEAR" contains the consecutive letters BE.

Fact! LYMON spelled backwards is NOMYL.

Fact! BE + NOMYL = BENOMYL.

Fact! BENOMYL is a compound in the benzimidazole class that can cause the depolymerization of yeast microtubules.

This has nothing to do with Lost. Just something I thought you should know. People do go to some great lengths to analyze the show, don't they?

For a little light reading about benomyl, see the Princeton paper Yeast Mutants Sensitive to Antimicrotubule Drugs Define Three Genes That Affect Microtubule Function. Hey, wait a minute, mutants!!? Are they on the island too?

Follow the instructions here through Joop's corner. After that go to the bios page and enter heir apparent in the bio text box.

I think that's how I got it to work this morning, but I was only on the first cup of coffee so I can't be sure what was happening.

Didn't he tell her TO get on it? That she was going to meet someone in L.A. who would adopt the baby that we don't know if they even existed? So he tells Eko to leave, which he does... to get on that same plane. Hm.

Overwhelmed

Website must have been swamped last night. I was able to get through everything tonight.

Too funny...

After the show was starting to suck with all the reruns, they've finally redeemed themselves.

I don't mean to steal Doctor Q's thunder, but he posted a link to a free audiobook chapter from "Bad Twin" by Gary Troup on iTunes in this thread

[Edited to improve clarity on what, exactly, is free]

I was wondering about that myself. Thought maybe it was some kind of joke or something.
"ABC has announced plans to introduce a Lost subplot about a character named Gary Troup, a fictitious author who supposedly perished in the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, but left behind the manuscript on which he had been working, having dropped it off with his publisher just days before boarding the fatal flight.

Here's where the line between fact and fiction blurs: Hyperion Books, ABC's sister publishing label, is actually putting out said manuscript in book form this spring--here in the real world--to coincide with the related episodes of Lost.

Titled Bad Twin, the private eye thriller is said to be about a rich heir's search for his devious sibling. Hyperion said it has commissioned a well-known scribe to pen the book, with the help of writers from the show."

I'm not nearly as adapt at figuring out this show as the rest of you guuys are. Thanks for all the posts. One of my all time favorite games is Myst. This show feels exactly like Myst to me. Lots of things vaguely familiar, but you cant quite connect the dots. Even the style of a lot of the things on the island are similar to the game. Hmmmm. maybe there is a connection...

Oh, I did think one thing was kinda odd last night. The bald guy put the hand drawn map in the suction tube and it took off. After that, the video said the tube takes the notebooks directly to the main Hanso people. For some reason, I think that is going to end up being a pivotal piece of the puzzle. He may have just inadvertantly signaled to someone that they have found the room or something... Probably wrong, but...

I doubt the pneumatic tube system travels under the ocean (that's a bit out of their range), so perhaps there are observers from Hanso somewhere on the island.

Of course, the tubes could be delivered to an unpoplulated location on the island, such as a control center, that itself is being observed from afar.

Yeah, I was guessing that it went somewhere else on the island. From what I know of the show, though, it seems like something that simple would end up setting off a huge chain of events. I guess we'll see soon enough.
