im gonna officialy submit a theory of mine to yall. it doesn't seem right, but i think when the timer counts down, a new plane crashes, and a whole new cast arrives. it would work perfectly with the asthetics of the whole plot flow, but sounds too predictable for it to happen in a way.

oh and here is my other theory. i thought this was pretty obvious, but maybe either a bunch of people missed it, or i am just a genius in a stupid suit, or i am completely wrong, but it sounds like the boat is the boat the others are giving to michael as part of the deal. remember when he asked for a boat?

Tomarrow comes today

The actress that plays Libby says she's in more scenes now that she's dead and hinted she would be back next season for her mental hospital back story.
Can't wait to see the expanation for the plane crash. This show is great because instead of re-inventing itself each season, like say Alias, it simply peals back another layer to reveal more of the plot. We knew nothing about the Dharma/Hanso experiment in season 1, but now it is accepted as just another piece of the puzzle.
Predictions:
Locke is surprised to find out that the experiment he thought was BS is no joke.
Some of the survivors have some limited psychic ability to a lesser extent than Walt. Locke and Rose are prime examples. Wonder when Jack will notice Locke has healed abnormally fast?

Where'd she say this, and when?

it also says this on spoilerfix

You might want to post a warning next time you post something like that. I know that's not a big deal, but some people don't like knowing things about future episodes that they're not supposed to know.

well here is my last episode of the series theory:

well we know the timer hits zero again, and from the looks of things the computer gets smashed up also the trailer shows an expolosion, we also find out what caused the crash, so i think:

they smash the computer up and then for say 3 times in a row, the timer is no reset. my theory is that the resetting of the timer has something to do with the magnetic field thingy, it say subdudes it in some way. after 3 times it goes out of control and then it gets far stronger. so i guess that it is this which causes things (e.g. boats, planes) to crash on the island. there is a massive electromagnetic field put out that attracts anything metallic in a wide area - hence boats or planes end up there. on top of this i think somehting in the hatch causes the explosion as a result also and so i guess in the next series they will be hatchless as it will be blown up quite a bit.

well thats my theory from what you can see in the trailer. thoughts?

Except he's not the one who originally said it.

Besides, it doesn't really give anything away.

oooh. i don't know why i didn't connect the magnetism with the attraction of new ships/planes, but it makes much more sense. damn, though, that would have to be one hell of a magnet.

Yeah that makes sense to me. Plus, aren't there some scientific theories saying that magnets can have healing power (leading to that whole trend of wearing magnetic "healing" bracelets)? That could also explain Locke and Rose's healing, right?

True... but it would beg the question as to why all the other metal objects (guns, etc.) aren't affected.

Sigh. Yeah, well... wel... that could be one of those lousy inconsistencies that a ton of shows/movies have! :p

well maybe when the counter counts down again, everything will be magnetized to the swan. what would be more interesting is if that was right during a shootout with the others or something. would make for interesting tv..

maybe because the things in their hatch are not metallic or like i said the tryping in of the numbers stops the magnetic field?

Technically, he asked for "the boat", which I took to mean the same one that he witnessed Walt being absconded upon. So, while your theory may be correct, that is not the (IMO) boat that he requested. However, having a sailboat makes much more sense to cross an ocean than a boat the relies solely upon fuel/engines. We'll see tonight!

Maybe Sayid finally realizes that he could define a cron task so they don't have to type in the numbers manually anymore. That's what cron is for, after all.

Without that chore to do anymore, they have more time to explore the island, so they do it more systematically and they discover they are a few miles north of Honolulu!

Can you run UNIX on an Apple II? Somehow I don't think you can.
Sure, that's what I'm doing right now. It takes a few months to peek and poke all the bytes into place to bootstrap it, and X-Windows is a little slow, but other than that, it runs fine.
Code:
APPLE ][% ps -aef
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
    root 0 0 0 May 06 ? 0:00 sched
    root 1 0 1 May 06 ? 157:23 /etc/init -
    root 123 1 0 May 06 ? 0:03 /usr/sbin/cron

magnetism

Sigh. Yeah, well... wel... that could be one of those lousy inconsistencies that a ton of shows/movies have!

Actually Mr. Ecko's cross lifted off his chest when they walked through the door to one of the hatch's (I forget if it was the observation hatch or not).

He stopped and looked up, then continued in.

I would think it would effect their navigation systems, no so much pull the plane or ship to the island...

That's great - Made me laugh out loud! But I'm sure they're saving that for the SERIES finale, not just this season's...
