I believe they are trying to write some code that would automate the the action of typing in the number sequence every hour or so.

This would allow them more time to search the island and quickly realize they are just on the other side of the hill from Honolulu.

They could then go grab some drinks and call it a day.;)

I just read from a reliable LOST site with a source listed, but I forgot to copy the link that Jack's dad is alive. He is the leader of the Others! And the Jack and Kate relationship is supposed to come to an end with the hint that there are to be two more deaths before the end of the season. I think Mike will be one of them. Maybe Mike will shoot Jack and then shoot himself once he realizes the Others aren't gonna give him Walt??

wow! that would be some series ending!

i have also read about their being ONE death at the end of the series, 2 would be a bit exciting, but i cant see them getting rid of jack, he is a key person - who would be the doctor then!

Perhaps mikes death could be staged so he could be reunited with his son.

Then for the next season there could be the whole "Is Michael dead or not" controversy...

humm, well she is nice - think she would fancy getting friendly with john major? :p

well back to lost now. i soooo cant wait, then i'll have the post season lull - i suppose i'll have to go back to watching the start of series 2 on channel 4!

maybe the others would be windows users and the war would be to convert them away from the dark side. they would be being driven by their head guy Bill Gates and they darednt disobay him.
 
arn may not have mentioned that the MacRumors forums run on an Apple IIc (server edition). That's also what J.J. Abrams used, with Photoshop Beta 0.01a(1), to create the LOST logo. That's why the letters came out a little fuzzy.

Just a bit of trivia I thought you might like to know. :)

This is a bit of a random question, but does anyone know how much time has supposedly elapsed this season? The first season covered forty days, if I recall, but I can't quite figure out how long this season was supposed to be. At the beginning, it seemed like it was going rather slowly, so I really don't think it's been another forty..
 
we're making some progress on the whole "answers" deal.
i still wanna know what the polar bears were all about though.
 
did Eko just bite it?

edit:

i think charlie did, eko might have made it though.. a detonation in a closed area like that goes toward the area that can equalize pressure (i.e. the air) and won't detour off to the side necessarily... Eko was off to the side. i still doubt he made it out, but i think it's possible.
 
Since the button-pushing every 108 minutes apparently discharges some sort of electromagnetic buildup, I theorize that the plane was drawn to the island when Desmond forgot to/didn't push the button.

EDIT: And it seems I was right. :)

edit: to actually provide something productive.. i don't care HOW old those computers are, when the magnet went bonkers they should have too.

CHARLIE MADE IT! i love this whole lacko of hearing thing though. let's see about eko.. wow, he's kinda alive too.
