I have the 42mm Stainless Steel Black Sport Band Apple Watch and I love it so far. My wife got the same one in 38mm and she loves it ALMOST more than I do. I work fulltime and take classes, and the taptic notifications on mute are awesome in class, and then my wife and I can Digital Touch Message throughout the day for fun (she works at a daycare and isn't allowed to have her phone, so this is a nice way to tell her I love her or that I am waiting to pick her up).

I do have one major hope though:

Running with the Apple Watch has been good so far, except when I run more than 20 minutes at a decent 10 min/mile pace or faster. I tend to sweat a lot, and I have noticed the HR Sensor goes into 'measuring' mode about 3 or 4 times in a 4 miles run for me. Hope someone makes a band with holes in it for breathing like the Nike+ GPS Watch used to have.

Loving the Activity App a lot, just need a few things from that as well.
- Stats: Fastest Mile, Furthest Distance, Most Calories Burned
- Competition Between AW Users
- Let me change Exercise goal from 30 min to whatever I want (I average 50 in a day)
- Let me see a list of all workouts I have done (currently only display on the day you did the workout)

These changes, and of course adding GPS to the next gen, would be so awesome!

I'm quite pleased with mine even though this ine is actually a temporary solution. 42 Sport with blue SB. Loving using it but I am eagerly waiting to hear that my SG Sport with Black SB has shipped.

I love mine! I noticed, whenever gender could be determined, that a lot, if not most of those making returns have been male. The female forum members I've grown familiar with seem delighted. And a lot of male members report happy wives and girlfriends enjoying their new Apple watches.

I wonder if it's because the watch has freed so many of us women from that dive into the depths of our purses and handbags or the frantic search around the house for the beeping IPhone. Prior to the 6 Plus I did used to wear my cell phone somewhere on me--small belt clip or in my pocket.

The 6Plus is a powerful versatile smart phone but it's a behemoth to carry unless I'm wearing my large pocketed LL Bean jeans that, yes, do make my butt look large. So, as much as my inner tomboy is resistant to the idea, my IPhone ends up sitting on tables or shelves or buried in my handbag.

Then Apple Watch came along and freed me! Today I was reaching for items in my cupboard. IPhone was upstairs on my nightstand. We disconnected the land line ages ago when telemarketers became the exclusive callers to that number. So if not for the watch suddenly coming to life and tapping me quietly but insistently on the wrist, I would have missed taking a call from my dad about scheduling his next urgent doctors appointment. Both my mom and my dad have been battling cancer. I can't afford to miss a call from them, or from school, or my elderly in-laws.

It is such a relief to be free from having to somehow keep my beast of a phone always on me. Even the iPhone 5s was too tall to sit comfortably in my pockets. And as a woman I do like to wear sundresses and skirts in the summer. I don't always want to have pockets!

Notifications and smart features aside, it's cute and fun and a really cool watch!

I also have a calculator app on it for when I'm too tired to do math in my head.

Excellent discussion of the merits of the watch for women! I've been thinking that women are really going to like this watch for these very same reasons. I would love my wife to have one so it would be easier to contact her when see is out and about, in a much more personal and reliable way.

Thanks and my best wishes regarding your folks.

Love my 38mm SG and no regrets. I bought it without trying on and was concerned about the size but yesterday I finally got the chance to go into an Apple Store to try on the 42mm, and I'm glad the 38mm was the right size for me. The 42mm was overbearing on my wrists.

I love the convenience of the notifications as the iPhone vibrations for incoming notifications and messages annoys the crap out of me.

This is the problem when you have "young" type users who cant really justify money spent on something they dont "really" need, but want right now.

I Love my watch, but also realize what it is and what it isn't. I use it a lot everyday using a variety apps. Heck for Apple Pay alone worth it for me.

However, I can afford it and wasn't expecting it to do anymore than it could

42mm GS BSB

Personally no buyers remorse. Like others have said, the initial reviews tempered my enthusiasm. It does what I want, though it could do some things better. Example as far as fitness, I still use my Fitbit One also. But for notifications and for getting my butt up and moving? it can't be beat. When people ask me about it, which they do, it is with tempered enthusiasm. It isn't for everyone.

I can't wait to see V2, and I'll probably upgrade.

No regrets.

My Nike FuelBand died so this is kismet. It works for my activity, reminds me to drink water (my biggest downfall) and a few other things right on my wrist.

Of course it could do some things better. however for a 1st gen, I'm impressed.

I feel sorry for my other watches: Movado, Gucci, Invicta, and the entire filled drawer of watches.

No regrets here either. I waffled about whether I wanted one, if it was worth the money, etc. But once I decided to order one, I never looked back. I've had it now for a week and love it. The texts on the wrists are great, and I'm finding Siri so helpful. I'm not missing calls and texts the way I used to.

I *do* wish Apple would let us determine what alerts get prominent haptic. Hopefully that'll come in a watchOS update.

Love mine, no regrets! It was tough for me to wrap my head around spending this much money, but I'm glad I have it and don't regret it.

Just looking at the graph in the health app for my steps over the past month, there is a noticeable difference in my steps before the watch, versus my steps since the watch, and that's all the justification I need and is worth a lot to me!

Not to mention, I think it's a beautiful watch and I love getting taptic notifications.

Very happy!

Love mine and I have zero issues with it other then the Milanese grabbing hairs now and then. Works perfect.

This post is awesome.

My question is, do women actually find the different models and bands of Apple Watch stylish?

Personally, as a man, I was impressed by the look of the Space Gray Sport (when I tired it on, I'm still waiting for mine). Coupled with the black sport band and the Milanese Loop that's on the way (June), my Watch will go very well with the majority of my wardrobe.

I paid $650 for my 42 MM Space Gray Sport because I was too impatient to wait until June and I have zero guilt as the watch has exceded my expectations. My only issue is the fear of damaging the screen after reading all of these posts :)..

Happy with my SG Sport. It's exactly what I was looking for. My only "problem" (not really a problem since I knew about it beforehand) is that there is no sleep tracking.

This is way more comfortable than my Pebble, works great, looks awesome and the battery life is "doable" but I'm hoping with future updates they can extend the battery life a little further.

People who bought this watch and are disappointed have never bought a first gen Apple product. This is the first step... and as everyone and every review has told them that this one isn't the "one" to get because of that.

Like Watches

I bought it mostly because I like watches and especially one that you can change to look like a totally different watch at will is brilliant!

Hated it at first, but now I can't live without it. There's something cool about getting notifications on my wrist. I'm reading more news than ever thanks to the micro-news apps on the watch.

I used to ignore the CNN notifications on my iPhone, but now I read everything that comes across my watch. Seems like I can get more done. There's nothing like sitting on the couch with a book, and glancing at a quick story, and then going back to reading.

I'm also checking Instagram more.

It's actually perfect on a smaller screen because I never comment. I can quickly scroll through my feed and move on with my day.

The fitness tracking stuff is also great. I'm exercising more than ever now. That alone is worth the $400 IMHO.

The iPhone was so bare-bones at first, but it really started to come alive after a few software updates. The Apple Watch will only get better. In a year it'll feel like a completely different device.

No regrets at all ! Wanted the watch since it was announced.
I work outside on a farm and it is very handy not to have to pull my phone out of a bag just to see who is calling. Sometimes I miss the ring on the phone. If my hands are dirty I have to clean them before picking up the phone. I can feel the watch tap me for phone calls and notifications. Haven't missed a call since I got the watch.
Love the weather app that taps me when it is going to rain soon. It has saved me from getting wet.
My husband laughed at me when I ordered it, now he wants one.

Women, like guys, have all kinds of different tastes and preferences, so some will, and the others aren't likely in the forum, LOL.

IMO, the sport bands are sporty and look good on anyone. The modern buckle is fairly feminine for those who want something more delicate. I don't think you can go much more delicate than that with the size of the watch face. A smart watch isn't going to be a great option for someone who wants something super delicate simply because you need a certain amount of space to read and interact with the screen, and the bracelet/band needs to feel balanced with the face.

I personally went with the classic buckle because it's well, classic, and can be dressed up or down pretty easily. It's a fairly gender neutral band, and some may consider it masculine, but I'm not terribly worried that someone is going to mistake my arm for a dude's. ;) The way I wear the watch and my personal femininity make the watch look plenty feminine when it's on my arm.

That's pretty cool! Is that the built-in weather app? How did you set it up to do that?

I'm sure when the second gen comes out I'll wish I waited as I never replace my tech the next year. However right now I love it. It hasn't reached the point where I can't visualise my life without it, in the way I do with my phone, but I wouldn't want to live my life without it.

Everyone seems convinced that an "Apple Watch 2" is around the corner, I will say personally I don't think Apple is going to do that, it's probably going to be on a 2 year cycle at least, maybe even three. Why? They want the watch to be perceived as having some value attached to it, not a throwaway commodity like the phone, pads, etc. Could be wrong, but I really expect longer refresh cycles on the Watch.

My only regret is that it's only the beginning for usefulness; it's like comparing the utility of an iPhone three years after it was introduced to the original, no question the apps, OS and hardware will improve over time. However, in both the case of the iPhone and now the Apple Watch, they are useful to start!

My question is, do women actually find the different models and bands of Apple Watch stylish?

Absolutely. I've been wanting a smartwatch for ages and nearly got a Pebble, but didn't like the look of it at all. My 38mm SS with Milanese loop looks very stylish to me. I love my gadgets and mostly don't factor looks in too much, but for something I'll wear every day, it matters.

Like the other women here, I'm delighted with my watch and glad to be freed to the tyranny of carrying my phone from room to room. The fitness part is an added (but welcome) bonus.

I've only had my watch since today around noon but I knew what I was expecting and it went there and beyond. I'm only taking this watch off to charge it.

I'm keeping mine and feel no guilt for buying it.

Not sure about loving it though. It's useful at times, but I've not had that one "aha!" moment with the Watch that has cemented its place on my wrist for the foreseeable future.

That being said, again- there is no buyers remorse here.

Excellent points! I also think, in general, women tend to be more patient than men.

Come on, people, don't get mad!

I do, and I think many women do. You should check out the "Women and Apple Watch thread that is probably on page 5 or greater by now. There are a bunch of us showing off our watches, coordinating bracelets and rings, and manicures. :D

Found it! I adore this thread.

I have the Stainless with the Milanese and since I tend to wear a lot of black to work, it looks incredibly good with my professional attire.
