Researched it carefully from the first keynote. Actually, waited patiently for the Apple Watch since I looked into a Basis, Fitbit, Jawbone, among others. Not a chance I'd take this gem back. It's only going to get better from here on out.

At this point, why would anyone buy any of those? It's like when iPod first came out, there's almost no point in buying any of the others. And when the iPhone came out in 2007, it was the same thing over again.

Sleep data. I can't speak for all of these devices (I don't even know if they all track sleep data), but I find the sleep data from my UP24 invaluable to me in understanding how my sleep affects my health (it does in a huge way) and keeping myself on track.

I love my AW, but it's not going to stop me from wearing my UP band.

I am a man and I really love the watch. Did so from the very beginning when it was announced.

Funny so I mainly use it as a watch but of course glance at other stuff on it.

I think it is important if someone likes the design or not. Much more so then with a phone.

If you are not a watch person or if you don 't like the design of this watch in particular then it is not for you. No matter what it does.

Love at first wear!

From the unboxing to the first time I put it on my wrist, I have been incredibly pleased with my new Apple Watch Sport (38mm Space Gray with Black Sport Band). I have smaller wrists (160mm) and have worn a Rolex Air King for the last 15 years, so Apple immediately impressed me with a "real watch." It is obvious the team behind Watch really do love watches.

Size-wise, the 38mm Sport is the same thickness as my Rolex, and the overall proportions are similar. It looks just right on my wrist, and the satin gray with black combination works well with my dark hair and complexion. Indeed, the black background screen seems to pop just that much more with the dark case and black strap. Most importantly, the Apple Watch is incredibly comfortable. I don't even feel it.

I'm really amazed with the screen quality and legibility. Every time I glance at it, I'm just impressed with the clarity, colors, and definition.

My previous smart watch was a Moto 360 Android Wear. It was impressive for that edge-to-edge round screen (despite the flat tire at the bottom). Apple Watch, however, blows it away in style, compactness, comfort, clarity, and most importantly, function. Aside from the imperfectly round screen for analog watch faces, the only thing the Moto 360 has on the Apple Watch is the clever dock for your nightstand that turns the watch into a bedside clock. I look forward to Apple or a third party doing something similar.

Already, the Apple Watch counted my walking distance correctly, and it measures my heart rate reliably and accurately, vs. the Moto 360 which more often than not pops up a message "Couldn't read heart rate. Try again." The Moto 360, even when carrying its companion Android phone with me, consistently short-changed walking and running distances by 25-30%. There was no option to set my stride length, even manually.

I could go on, but those are my day-one impressions given my background in many kinds of watches, whether mechanical, digital, calculator, databank, PDA, smart, etc. Really, really, great.

Really enjoying my 42mm SG Sport.

Even though I read a lot about it before ordering, I'd still say it has slightly exceeded my expectations in some areas and significantly exceeded them in others. Only tiny bit disappointed with one tiny thing.

-A lot of people didn't want to "beta test" Apple Watch 1.0. Well it is not a rough draft product. It is excellent in fit, finish, form and usability.
-It is light and comfortable to wear
-the screen is excellent and despite early reports I find function fairly intuitive. Perhaps not as much as iPhone, but not far off either.
-while the touch screen is very responsive and love the force touch, the digital crown is excellent and I find myself using both regularly
-while some apps need updating, most are useful and easy to use
-battery life is better than expected and charging is quicker than expected

My only tiny bit disappointment is the black on black on black of the SG sport. Not only all black (band, watch, screen, crown) but the exact same visual texture. Oh it looks "clean and slick" but with the screen off (which is most of the time) there is nothing to break up that mono-look. Nothing to give a touch of pop or color.

I know this will be solved with bands. So it is REALLY nit-picking. I've worn black chronograph watches for the past 5 years. But even the all black ones had a touch of silver trim. Or the face had a blue background. Or something.

I sold my SG sport and got a white sport. It goes with more bands I think :)

Yes, no doubt...the white/SS of goes with a majority of the bands. But I like black, wear a lot of black and grey. I just prefer it in a watch.

It is interesting about the bands. When I did my very first try on, I verified that all bands would fit on all watch (size exclusive) and the gal, said "Yes". But then quickly "warned" me that since I ordered the SG, very few bands had black or dark hardware. For and she showed me that all the other sport bands had a silver pin rather than black. She said that may or may not bother me, but even most upgraded bands had silver hardware.

I'm comfortable enough that I know there will be plenty of bands coming. Both OEM and non-OEM. If nothing else, I'll pick up the either the black or blue leather loop. I don't want to spend that much, but damn the blue one is amazing with the black watch. And even the black one has a texture change from the watch that I think would be beneficial.

It is called "Dark Sky" . Very cool weather app, it didn't need to be set up, it is a third party app made for the Apple watch.

I LOVE Dark Sky. People at work come running into my office to find out if we are going to get rained on/struck by lightning. I have had it on my phone for a long time, and it is awesome on the watch.

I wish my AW did sleep, but I'm finding I have enough juice at the end of the day to wear it through the night. Maybe some enterprising developer will write a good sleep app for it until Apple comes around. I did sleep with mine on one night and got some interesting heart rate data out of it.

Yes I love it. I am wondering if I got an exceptionally well functioning unit? I have not missed a notification, have not had to reboot it yet, had a May 13-27 delivery date and got it on launch date (YIKES STILL DONT KNOW HOW), taptic has never felt week, not a single scratch on the sport version yet and I abuse it and battery lasts forever. I take it off the charger every day at 6:45am and it lasts until midnight with roughly 35% left.

1st party apps are pretty quick loading including weather. No regrets yet.

Posts like this is what this thread invites because we just don't see this very often. Usually when a product experience goes nearly 100% satisfactory, people are not loud about it. We always hear about what's not working, what's going wrong, etc.

Good to know somebody was not only gifted with an early shipment, but had an as-advertised experience. It instills confidence in my purchase (along with other posts in this thread) as I have not received my :apple: Watch yet.

No guilt for the watch, I am starting to not like the ML band(waiting on my sport band) It comes loose more often than i'd like. The watch does everything I need it to. I get the notifications I need/want. I get text and calls and find it easier to use as a phone, as long as i'm in a place that isn't loud. To me it seems like the people who don't like it or have regrets didn't know what they were buying in the first place.
