Why release of a macbook would require an "experience" event. There is little to experience with one more macbook — it is just cheaper and different color from a macbook invitees already have.
Don't worry, giant bezels will shrink the effective screen to below 12”.

Yeah, I’d be tempted by that, and if it came with an A19 chip I’d most certainly buy it… but given all the crazy situations with RAM and NAND… I wouldn’t have my hopes too high.
In green it would look nice, but given this colors, I’d choose either the blue or the boring, classic space grey.
That’s certainly been true since Job’s return and the g3 imacs/ibooks. Doesnt mean the products arent great quality but generally great design sells the products too. Look at the og ipod ad campaigns, or current apple watch ones. Think about how instantly iconic (and polarizing initially) airpods were and how they became a very visible accessory.

My orange M3 iMac looks almost like my rose gold original iPhone SE on the back and frame. Same for keyboard and mouse.
The chin looks like some pastel pink.
I wanted to buy the pink one anyway but needed a quick delivery for my configuration and only orange and blue (and of course silver what nobody seems to buy) was in stock.
I am happy with this color. It has nothing to do with the rusty ugliness of the iPhone 17 Pro (Max) orange.
Why wouldnt it be able to run anything that runs on macos? It’s still gonna be a mac…

These won’t have Rosetta 2 support, will they? I think the M-series chips have some magic stuff in them for that. No Rosetta 2 support is a dealbreaker for me.

I hope we get a leak of the color hex codes that come from the MB colors. If Apple does use light yellow, that could mean something as off-color as the Sky Blue or Gold Air.

Edited to add: I looked up the chip again and didn’t see it was supported. I do recall having to install the Rosetta update with the M1 MBA. Not sure if such would be possible here.

If it is $599 with 12GB RAM, that sounds too good to be true, and a price point too low for Apple.

People said the same thing when the G3 iMacs and Powermacs began to replace their beige computers. .
I’m more and more convinced that this new MacBook will have 8GB RAM. For quite some time I thought Apple was about to become some altruistic company selling super fast, beautiful computers with 16GB RAM for $699 or something but now I have come to my senses.
A $699-799 MacBook with 8GB would be the perfect device to upsell their customers to a MacBook Air.

I hope so. I thought getting rid of that name was a poor move from Jobs. Hell, iMacBook would’ve been acceptable too. Jobs really didn’t like those old G3 colors

Nice work! I know white bezels get a lot of hate, but I like your concept with white bezel and keyboard.
There is no reason to believe it would NOT run Rosetta.
Rosetta is a feature of macOS. There is no special "rosetta magic stuff" baked into the M series.
The very first Developer Mac mini was running on an A12 Chip and it obviously had Rosetta.

10 hours of battery life is definitely not where it's at if they want to sell this machine. It'll need to have between 18 and 24 hours of battery usage life.

Cheers! As for the white bezels, It's not my intention to trigger people. Although I personally like the silver / white combo, my thinking was that it clearly differentiates it from Apple's more expensive laptops. If this cheap MacBook ends up being silver with a black keyboard and bezels it will surely annihilate MacBook Air sales.

It'll have a 12" screen, 8 GB of RAM, start at 128GB of storage (upgradable), an A16X chip, and a 1920 x 1200 screen... And be priced at $599. Couldn't imagine the specs being any better than an iPad because of the price point.
