Mine was supposed to arrive today, but last night UPS pushed it to tomorrow, and this morning it got pushed out to Monday. They blame the storm but the shipment is from TN to CA so that doesn’t really make sense at all. The local Apple Stores have re-opened, so I just ordered one for pickup in an hour lol. Pretty sure UPS lost the shipment, if it shows up I’ll go return it at the store.

No stores are opened in my state, so I’ll just have to wait on shipment.

Mine went through Kentucky from Anchorage yesterday and it's now out for delivery here in NorCal. Interesting that yours went through Tennessee...

That’s cool!!!! Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks I will! Super excited!!! It’s coming from Nashville. We are having some internet issues so hoping my Migration from my 2017 12 inch MB goes OK. But a technician is coming out on Saturday. Also, my MBA m1 is free of Bluetooth issues as I absolutely love using my Homepod for sound whenever possible.

Ordered the 512 Air on Monday in suburban SF through the Apple website. Before you order it at first it says 2-3 weeks; then if you pick Space Gray, it says 2-4 hour delivery available for $9. I did that and a courier dropped it off 90 minutes later.

My SG 8/8/512 shipped today from Lebanon, TN. Expected delivery tomorrow. This is much different from other MacBooks I’ve ordered. Normally they show shipping starting from China.

Same here. I was very happy to see this but I am wondering if it is because I didn’t custom configure mine. Gold 256 GB/8GB/7 GPU It was a little nerve wracking ordering mine as this was the very first Mac I did not customize but I have 200 GB free on my current 12 inch MB so I don’t need 512 GB of space. I also have no need for 16 GB of ram. I feel like I learned from previous MacBooks I ordered. I ordered what I need/use not going by what others do. I also think I can always buy external space if I need it. Glad yours shipped so quickly too!

I understand. Yes, that's very true. hopefully it will be soon but I feel badly as so many others here have been waiting so long. does anyone know if all of these delays or because of the virus and limited stock or because demand for these computers are so high because of the m1 chip?
There is a big constraint right now in the entire industry for SSDs, GPUs, CPUs, etc. A Ford plant in Michigan has to cut down from 3 shifts to 1 shift solely because they don't have enough chipset supply for the Ford F-150, which is kinda crazy. Since other M1s are shipping fairly quickly (at least compared to my apparently immobile order), I have to think its not the components Apple is producing but instead the outsourced ones, in my case the SSD drive. The M1 has combined GPU/CPU so that makes the most sense to me at least. Still sucks though.

Have you called on your order at all? Can they cancel this one and order you another one? I just think it’s so crazy that you’ve been waiting so long.

So...I ordered my MBA M1 8/8/2TB/16GB on 11/25/2020. Initial delivery date for 3-4 weeks (so 12/22), got the email on 12/25 (merry xmas!) that it was being delayed by another 5-6 weeks, with the new estimation being 2/2-2/9/21. Still in the "processing order" status as of today. Not hopeful anymore - starting my 11th week now. Given how others with the 8/8 M1 with 16GB RAM shipping, it has to be the SSD.

If I were you, I’d call Apple and ask for a senior advisor to make a complaint. At the very least, they might offer you a “freebie” accessory for your wait.

I TOTALLY agree. This is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion.

So I was worried a bit when I first received my new MBA 256/8gb/7GPU as the actual shipping box was damaged and had a hole in it. However, the actual MBA product box was in pristine condition and the actual MBA itself was perfect. The color is definitely Rose Gold in my opinion. This laptop is an absolute BEAST and I am thrilled. Coming from a 12 2017 MB, this machine is WICKED fast. Absolutely love the magic keyboard and Touch ID.

Glad you got your MBA and it was not damaged. Mine has been delayed by UPS until the 9th. This delay is nothing compared to dsmcclin’s experience.

Oh I know. I can’t believe what has happened to his order and how long he has been waiting. Absolutely ridiculous. I do believe the wait time for escalations is quite long. I have been waiting 5-6 days for a supervisor to get back to me on a Apple Pay/Gift Card issue.

FINALLY! I knew posting would be the magic trick to get the system to ship. Shipped today, supposed to arrive by next Monday. I had to order through our Apple Education Store and did escalate it about 3-4 weeks ago, but that didn't do much. Personally, I think they push the Education orders to the back of the line since this isn't the first time that has happened, with them not being able to do much to escalate. Excited now to try out the M1 Mac!

That’s great!!! What a journey. Mine’s been sitting at UPS distribution center since 6th. Funny thing is, the location is only an hour away. They just emailed and said it would be delivered tomorrow. Apple delivery date was the 6th. However, nothing I’ve ever heard compares to your “adventure”.

Interesting. You ordered ahead of me. Maybe more 7-core M1 chips are being made so they are being filled faster?
I ordered an M1 MacBook Air with 16gb of memory on Dec 18th and an M1 Mac Mini with 16gb on January 21st. The MacMini shipped on February 1st, so I cancelled the MacBook Air order.

I have a theory there might be yield concerns with the 7 graphics core M1 chip; which isn't entirely a bad thing. Apple doesn't intend on making a 7 core M1 chip... Those are just M1 chips with a graphics core that didn't pass QC (they disable the 8th core and ship it as a 7 core).

Anyway, I ordered an M1 MacBook Pro after cancelling my Air order. We'll see how long it takes. If my theory is right, then it shouldn't be too much longer.

There is no major shortage of SSD, GPU, or CPUs in the industry.

Automotive semiconductors are different from personal computers. They use 40-65nm technology from a decade or two ago because neither power nor performance are important. Not the leading edge 10/7/5nm nodes.

Spring's coming and Vaccines hopefully everything will get back to normal soon. Figure 2 to 3 month's the M1's will be in the refurbished area.
