Um, Tallest. Have you seen this:

The Mac Pro will come in eight-core configurations from 3.0GHz to 3.6GHz and 16-core configurations in 3.6GHz and 4.0GHz flavors, and it sounds like it's going to be even funkier on the video tip -- our tipster says it has two regular DVI ports and a mini DisplayPort. Sure, okay. It's also apparently a bit lighter than the current model, at 35 pounds instead of 42.

16-freaking cores. That's nuts.

Not going to happen, and tell wherever you got that fugly mockup to stop F*&(ing with a beautiful machine.

Apple store still is up and normal.....

Getting close to midnight Eastern...

I agree it is an ugly mockup. It was from the site w/ the story I quoted. I'll remove the fuglyness...

If it closes, it would be at 12pm Pacific Time.

NAW leave it up!

I may have my @$$hole opinion about it but don't change your post on account of me! :D

It's ugly, but I am sure other will love it.

p.s. I know that it won't be the next Mac Pro because Apple may love jacking up the Pro Macbooks and consumer machines, but they BETTER NOT put slot loading drives in my professional $3000 machine!

no blu ray, no quad core, no speed bump and we don't even know if they got the Nvidia chip: so much for an update on the imac....

I agree with your @$$hole opinion. I'll put it back there for others though.

And a Slot Drive would be a bad choice in a professional machine.

Anyone have any idea what kind of graphic cards the imacs will have?

Well, if they were to keep up with PC manufacturers, they'd be offering either nVidia 9xxx or GTs, or HD Radeon 4xxx, but seeing as they're content with being miles behind in everything else, I wouldn't be surprised with nvidia 8xxx's or HD Radeon 3xxxx :/

the nvidia 9400m or 9600m

Maybe a 9800 in the super high end?

BTW - is there any history of Apple updating this many products without an event?

So far, we're looking at:

MacMini
iMac
MacPro (Maybe)
Time Capsule
AirPort Express

Just seems like a lot for a non-event update.

eh they might in this economy. (although I think it's unlikely that the Mac Pro will be updated tomorrow)

PS: anyone have any idea when the Final Cut Suite, Final Cut Express, Logic, and Aperture will be updated? There hasn't been a good Pro app update in forever!

Don't you mean AirPort Extreme, and not AirPort Express? Or is Apple updating both?

Even with taking out a new MP, we're looking at 4 products. I'd say that two maybe three are major products.

I thought the TC took over for the Airport Extreme. (Just checked, I'm wrong. They are two separate things)

Maybe, but now that Apple isn't into Macworld, or CES, or the professional video one that escapes me right now, Apple may just update their products without fanfare.

Hopefully they will put their saved cash into getting current GFX cards for their machines.

OR QUAD CORE 17" MBPs

2.4 ghz and 5 ghz operation (simultaneous) supposedly, its going through the FCC right now.

Sounds kinda nice. I hear about people getting 5GHz wireless phones and having trouble with WiFi reception. But I am no expert, they could be doing something wrong.

RIGHT!

And hopefully we'll get a real update to DVD Studio Pro this time around. I don't want to have to switch to the entire Adobe suite to get Encore DVD which can burn HD movies on regular DVDs as long as the content fits. Or how about the Blu-ray support...... eh....! :D

Come on Apple, give us something good.

I JUST bought my 24" iMac two weeks ago at Best Buy.

Considering you're not a newbie probably means you visit this site decently often so there is no way you didn't know about this update.

And if you didn't...owned. You still have a great machine though.
