Many times I just wish Apple would add an extra micron or two and give us full sized video ports. I'm tired of paying $20-30 for a fragile adaptor that breaks after a year or less.

Full-sized video ports would take up thousands of extra microns, not one or two.

My $0.02: Apple DID put a full-size dual-link DVI port on the previous gen MacBook Pro, but nobody showed their appreciation. If everyone had written letters to Apple thanking them profusely for including a port that required no additional adapter, I think Apple would have graciously introduced full-sized DisplayPort on the current gen. Methinks they were a bit stung when no flowers and thank-you cards came in the mail, and they are now punishing us for our insolence.

haha, I was there. but we knew the date of macworld.

this, we don't 100% sure about the date.

so your saying the fact that new macs are coming out soon is a failure just because it has no dates?

Wow thats great logic:rolleyes:

just grab a chill pill and dont worry it will be out soon

who else thinks Blu Ray may debut on the mac mini and imac?

i know the new licensing changes won't occur until summer, but maybe Apple worked something out, and they were waiting for Blu Ray to become viable for them before releasing the next crop of mac hardware. And isn't the next OS update (10.5.7) due shortly too? maybe its adds any missing blu ray support.

the Ultimate iMac and high end Mini could have a Blu Ray drive, and would shortly become a BTO option for all the other macs. Once Macs include Blu Ray, then that will be a sure sign it has entered the mainstream, and not before too long i won't have to go to a special section in blockbuster and pray the film i want has been released in HD.

Quad

No quad iMac,???

Hello Dell $450 Quad-core hackintosh

As a stockholder I am very disappointed, as a consumer I am outraged.

As a Democrat, I am understanding. As an American, I am placated. As a human being, I am filled with violent rage. As a student of Karate, I am filled with inner peace.

Apple would need software to support said licence.
Lucky they have a small update to the said software also due 'Summer'

MacPro is the only machine it would really make sense shipping a BL burner for before there is software support for playback.

Yet again maybe they will have it as a BTO option but then it would need to include a free upgrade to SL.

I don't think Apple will include Blue Ray drives anytime soon.

Why? a little thing called iTunes

iTunes is a huge cash cow for Apple, I don't see the logic to include a method for to use a Blue Ray disk vs renting that same movie from iTunes.

Just my thoughts, I'd love it in the mini or the imac, but cash talks.

WTF are you talking about?

Why not do it and get a new imac with better specs?

Why wouldn't the SKU match and why wouldn't i give them a SKU? I have my receipt. Man you guys need to read instead of skim through posts. I still have not received a answer to a simple question. Where are you getting this from?

I will just wait and see if they are released and call Apple to get a straight answer or google it.

I bought a imac five days ago. I plan on returning it upon release of the new imacs which is my right given I am within the fourteen day window. I will package it up as new with receipt, if they ask it I opened it, I will tell them yes. If they don't ask, I will not tell them. Nothing underhanded going on here.

Do they let you trade it for a new one less the restocking fee if there is one, or do they let you return the one you bought with a restocking fee, and you purchase a new one. Not a hard question.

How is this confusing?

Sorry this is coming pages beyond where it was but I had to wait till I was out of work to reply. I understand what you are talking about. He wants to return the original iMac in the original iMac box. Basically returning the exact item he bought. Get his money back then go and buy the new one. I did this same thing with my MacBook. I bought it and 3 days later the new specs popped up. I got mine from best buy. I wrapped everything back up and took it in and said I didn't want it. I did get deducted the 10% stocking fee but then went to the Apple store and bought the new one.

As for the issue Blue-Ray Vs itunes Movie Store, I don’t think that those two are competitors. People have both computers & DVD/Blu-Ray independent players and use both services to watch movies. If an Apple computer does not have Blu-Ray drive, this does not mean that the one who owns it, is not going to watch Blue-Ray movies. If he/she feels that Blue-Ray is more convenient for renting/buying HD movies than iTunes store, he/she will buy a BD player anyway. But having both services in one device, this makes the product more attractive and guarantees better sales. Furthermore, itunes Movie Store is not available for all countries around the globe.

The Mini's always had a DVD option. But I'm wondering whether Apple will release it with BluRay. That would make the AppleTV obsolete overnight. I'd buy a BluRay Mini in a heartbeat and wire it up to my HDTV.

I know it's just wishful thinking....

if only they would integrate Blu-Ray across all their model lines. including it in the mid and higher range versions of each product line. and as option, for reading version, and upgrade to buy burnable version.
