Seriously? Tommorow... That means no special event, no press meeting, just a little quick update, fairly pathetic... Although I guess spec bumps don't really warrant an event as such.

Who would care about some lousy event if it's only on products like the iMac and Mac Mini? There is nothing wrong with silent updates.

Price will be key for Apple in this climate. I really hope they drop the prices across the board to make everything more affordable.

Definitely - they'll really shoot themselves if they don't make them more affordable when money is very tight.

According to Google Translate:

Mac mini
- 5x USB
- 1x FireWire 800
- 1x mini-DVI
- 1x display port
- Nvidia chipset (like the new MacBooks)
- From 2.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 1 or 2 GB DDR3 RAM (4 GB max)
- 120 GB hard disk (max 320GB)

iMac
- 1x 20 "model, 3x 24" models
- Intel Core 2 Duo (so no quad core) 2.66 Ghz, 2.93 Ghz and 3.06 Ghz
- 1x display port
- 20 "2 GB DDR3 RAM memory, 24" 4 GB DDR3 RAM (max 8GB)

figures they would come out tomorrow ive just today got a imac G4 off ebay lol

loving it so far the screen is a dream

The same computer in a mini ATX configuration on PC cost around $800 to $1200!!!

If Apple make it $600 it would be great!

I agree...while Apple prides themselves on great computer, there is nothing wrong with well priced great computers.

Get the iMac back to 999 starting and Mac Mini at 499. That be true competitive pricing!

dammit, i got sick of waiting and bought a cheap PC instead

I guess I should wait till the imacs get core i7

I'm not looking for a new iMac, but tomorrow would be great because it would mean that I could get a refund on the price difference on the 24" 2.4 refurb that I just bought. It was delivered on the 20th, so tomorrow is within 2 weeks.

The iMac specs look like glacial changes to me - unless they also have a quad core chip in the mix.

I'm hoping that Apple releases a new version of Time Capsule with some upgrades (Firewire 800 port, mountable, bootable hard drive) and lower price.

Right now Apple charges $200 to bump up the hard drive from 500GB to 1TB. That's ridiculous, since you can buy a 1TB Hitachi drive for around $100 these days.

Its a very sexy machine! I have one, and its running into some issue(I need to update software I think) but I really like how it looks!

Dual cores for the iMac again? FFS. I want more horsepower - not a bigger freaking display Apple.

WAKE UP! :(

I wonder if the 20" will see a price drop?

Yes but Apple wouldn't make much money if they bought for $60 from Hitachi and sold it to you for $100.

Translated specs (there's some Dutch text):

Mac mini
- 5x USB
- 1x FireWire 800
- 1x mini DVI
- 1x Display poort
- Nvidia chipset (like the newest MacBook)
- starting at Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz
- 1 of 2 GB DDR3 memory (max 4 GB)
- 120 GB hard disk (max 320 GB)

iMac
- one 20" model, three 24" models
- Intel Core 2 Duo (not a quad core): 2.66 Ghz, 2.93 Ghz and 3.06 Ghz
- 1x Display port
- 20" 2 GB DDR3 memory, 24" 4 GB DDR3 memory (max 8 GB)

That makes me sad.

I wonder about the iMac CPU. I would think 9600 all around. (9400 for the MacMini.)

I'd also like to see the MacMini priced @ $399.

What's so great about the iMacs? A new chipset/CPU. Am I missing something, or is that all that would be new?

Is it possible, that with this new release, the price of currently refurbished iMacs in the Apple Online Store will go down?

Actually you're the one who needs to wake up because if you were awake you'd of known that the iMac has used notebook components for a long time. Do you see Quad-Cores in notebooks yet (I'm not talking about the notebooks that get a 5 minute battery life)?

If there's no quad core plus a 9600 on the high-end, you can't call that an update. I'll get a refurbished 3,06 w/ 8800 straight away if that's the case.

- 1 of 2 GB DDR3 ram geheugen (max 4 GB)
- 120 GB harde schijf (max 320 GB)

iMac
- 1x 20" model, 3x 24" modellen
- Intel Core 2 Duo (géén quad core dus): 2.66 Ghz, 2.93 Ghz en 3.06 Ghz
- 1x Display poort
- 20" 2 GB DDR3 ram geheugen, 24" 4 GB DDR3 ram geheugen (max 8 GB)

Mini, 20" iMac great.

24" iMac, if true, more holding Mac users mac to satisfy Ive's indulgences. What's the point of adding all these great features to the OS, if there's only one super high end niche model that can actually take advantage of them? There is absolutely no excuse for shipping the 24" models with dual core CPUs when suitable quad cores exist.
