This is looking real, which is awesome. Wonder what the best card you can get will be. I hope it's quite a bit better than the one now.

I want a bluray drive so I can play my gowing collection of blurays. I don't mind if the monitor won't show it off to its optimum - thats what my TV and projector are for. I just want my equipment to be flexible.

I like silent bumps. Means more gossip around performance for days until someone gets one and benchmarks it :)
Do apple ever publish what version c2d they use?

^How do you know? It doesn't say that anywhere... And if it does have that, what is upgraded? Just the amount of ram. Yay (sarcasm).

10:00 AM in Italy...Apple Store still online, still possible to buy old iMacs/Minis...come on USA people, wake up! The world is waiting :D :apple:

It's looking true because there are so many comments here?
There's a lack of similar predictions from trustworthy analysts about this release. These spec posting seem rather anonymous. Where are you guys getting the supposed specs from?

Like another person posted, there's a simultaneous rumor that the updates are coming March 24th at an Apple event. Given the number of updates, I want to believe this rumor more than the rumor they're all silently getting updated in a few hours. The 24th rumor suggests bigger things, the rumor of updates tomorrow is incredibly disappointing, and are the type of tiny increases we should have gotten 6 months ago. I want to get a Mac, but if the tiny spec update rumor is true, and not the quad core rumor, then forget it. http://macosrumors.com/2009/03/02/march-24-apple-event/comment-page-1/

I'm not sure what that has to do with my response.

Apple blew it by going with a design requiring laptop parts. If they had gone with desktop parts, they could have made the box better, or cheaper, or both. As it is, the mini has long been extremely uncompetitive - it fails at being cheap and it fails at having decent specs.

No, they didn't blow it. Mini has been a fine computer with lots of happy users. Had they used desktop-parts, they would have had to make the system bigger, and that goes against the idea behind the machine.

It's easier for people to buy a tiny and silent computer, as opposed to buying a big and noisier computer. For some strange psychological reason, the barrier of purchase is lower for a small computer than a bigger computer.

So no, a bigger Mini wouldn't automatically be "better". Unless your definition of "better" is "it has more of them megahertz!".

Small size is one of the strengths of the Mini, and not a weakness. you seem to want a minitower. well, go right ahead. Small size gives the system flexibility that bigger system lacks.

How trustworthy is Mac OS Rumors?

If this comment is true...
At this time, excepting any source information/interviews still under embargo, Rumors has had the chance to examine Nehalem iMac prototypes on several occasions which had varying GPUs or other changes, were built into enclosures of varying depths, and in at least one case included an outrageously over the top 30+ inch version with components that we’re far from certain would ever end up in a production iMac of any lesser dimension.
It would mean at least the spec listing of the rumor this thread is based on are false OR there will be a "Pro" iMac line announced later with quad core. "Pro" usually means hella expensive though, so this is hardly any better news for most people.

I'm quite skeptical that we're just getting tiny speed increases after such a long wait. It's arrogant really. They think everyone is rich and clueless about computers? Yeah, the Apple diehards will buy whatever they put out and rationalize it, but what percentage of Mac owners are those diehards?

Same timezone in Denmark, and nothing new on Apple Store...

Calm yourselves my impatient trans-atlantic brethren!! :D:D:D Christ, I haven't even gone to bed yet! (1:38 AM - Pacific Time USA)

If you go historically... not trustworthy whatsoever.

looks like I'm not the only American alive at this hour! Hey Arn, what region do you live in?

What times do the stores usually update in the US?

Usually around midnight my time so in a little over 3 hours.

In the winter it's at 2am so WWDC announcements really suck. Then they moved MWSF from 9am to 10am and made that at stupid o'clock too.

Sometimes it sucks living on the other side of the planet. I was looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow.

Nice, here we go. I love to see that yellow sticker! :D

Nicccceeeee!!! Let's go Apple!!! I have all day off, so I am just waiting for store updates to see when I can go claim my first Mac ever, a 24" iMac.

Edit: Wow, this is just like waiting in line, but the online version lol
