When the new Mini comes out, the old Mini will either become a gift to somebody in the family or teeny tiny web server.
Since it hasn't died yet - maybe they are preparing something "special" to coincide with the MB and MBP redesigns...![]()
They really can't get rid of the MM. If the got rid of it, it would leave a hole in the Apple desktop lineup.
For $200 more, you can get the MB, which can be used a desktop.

I'm probably one of the few people watching this thread, who's happy the mini hasn't been updated yet. As I continue to altered my budget due to recent expenses, I'm not ready to buy till the end of May. Course this means it will get updated, oh I don't know, tomorrow...
So it's your fault the update is delayed.
If the new mini doesn't come till the end of May I'm gonna be so mad at you![]()
If we wait until June, there's a chance we could get Montevina, and thus X4500 GPU...
BAHAHAHA yeah right, who am I kidding?!

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple killed it off, to be honest.
Yea, It's probably EOL. Surely something better will replace it soon.
Another Tuesday, another disappointment.
Shame on you, Apple... allowing what would be such a cool computer to rot in electronics hell.
I'd rather wait until a few weeks before or after WWDC and get a Mini based on Montevina then get a Santa Rosa unit now, frankly.
As would I, now that I've waited this long... but would Apple actually put Montevina in it or is their spite for this poor machine just great enough to clobber it once again with really old technology? I'm just cynical enough to think they might.
With the Mac Mini's form factor, I would think that the lower temps that .45nm Penryns would bring would be very beneficial. I don't believe the Mac Mini was transitioned to Santa Rosa, so I would hope that Apple would give it Montevina, as well, so they can use those cooler-running CPUs.
