My late 2012 iMac is still running perfectly well but I'd definitely be interested in a new model. I don't have a retina display on my iMac, so if they improve on the already excellent 4k display on the 21.5" model then that is something that could convince me to upgrade at some point next year assuming they don't try to rip us off on SSD & RAM upgrade pricing again.

I'd almost guarantee a keyboard change. Apple would be stupid to sell a product that they have to warrant for 4 years right off the bat.
So true.. they have to change atleast to save their a** from another class action suit..
[doublepost=1531381407][/doublepost]They should release round Apple Watch too...Samsung gear looks awesome...

Consdiering the cost of OLED panels, the price point of OLED panels and possible burn in and IR issues even on small screens and the compensation cycles that OLED TV's do each night to try and eliminate these issues I highly doubt Apple would use a OLED panels in the iMac.
No need for oled on displays that need more lifetime than an iphone. I bet an imac display used hard for 3-4 years, the blue pixels start to fade away etc
So the imac displays needs microLed. Probably starting to adopt microled into macs in 2020?!

If the Mac Mini structure isn't redesigned to allow better thermal management, air flow, and upgradability, then any changes to the unit will be pointless.
As the unit exists now its a locked down, soldered in place, brick that over heats at the smallest attempt at graphics management.
Apple has to seriously stop putting their artsy design aesthetic above function and really focus on making functional hardware. Not to mention not waiting to upgrade said hardware for OVER 3 FLIPPING YEARS!
We don't care if its a beige box, as long as it runs great.

Yes. The 1st gen mac mini design had alot better thermal management, and I'm still using my early 2009 mac mini in 35℃. Also with this design you could put an air filter and base that fitted perfectly (someone designed one which was exactly that and I still use). I would prefer if they go back to this first design.

If Apple brings MicroLED to market anytime soon it’ll have to be without Samsung’s help. They’ve said it will take them 2-5 years to bring their $100,000 146” MicroLED “Wall” TV down to something as small as 75”.

Apparently it’s extremely difficult to reduce the size of MicroLED pixels. I wonder how many hundreds of engineers Apple has working on it?

From what I can see the chips Apple would use were launched in Q2 2018, and Intel isn’t typically going to ship in large quantities on launch date.

Exactly what 8th generation chip did you think Apple would use that was launched earlier?
8700K, 8600K, 8700, 8600, 8500, 8400 were launched MONTHS before WWDC and have been in PCs since forever. Any questions?

Adding OLED would take the iMac into iMac pro price point and beyond. Considering its already really bright as they increased brightness last year it may get HDR with HDR10, I doubt HLG or Dolby Vision.

I'm not sure about 120hz could they drive the 5K iMac panel at 120hz? Also would that then not hurt the iMac pro as it wont have those feature, unless the Pro is going to become the new de facto iMac and the rest poor cousins. I bet they remove the ram door this year too if there is a a upgrade.

I think personally a spec bump on CPU and GPU on the iMac maybe making it brighter (again) and a change in bezel size next year with a redesign. This year HDR and maybe a 120hz refresh rate on the iMac Pro. Then next year the Pro features from this year will trickle down to the regular iMac line up. The pro has to say one step otherwise its not a so called Pro machine...

In this country the 4 year old mac mini has actuallyincreased in price since Apple raised it a while ago due to exchange rates. So Apple is charging more for 4 year old tech than the release date. Anyway hoping for a new mac mini, any size will do.

We need Nvidia GTX 1080 SLI in every iMac and GTX 1180 SLI in every iMac Pro.
Funny how Max-Q 1080 SLI could actually be possible had they kept the old thicker design and dual fan. It’s basically as thick as 1080 SLI gaming laptops except much more surface area for cooling. Oh, and nvidia cards also improve fcxp performance as shown by hackintoshes.

dGPU's needs to be optional everywhere since they mostly bring heat (=fan noice), reduced batterylife in portables and breaks after two years...
