I was installing the OS update. While it was installing, I tried scrolling down the text on the install window that describes the install. Once done scrolling down the darned thing would bounce back to the top of the text. After trying to scroll down a few times Software Update crashed.
The download was not complete but "about this mac" states that it is 10.2.8. If I go back to software update, the 10.2.8 update is no longer available (along with several other things that I did not even choose to download, such as Airport and Blue tooth stuff). Any suggestions on what I should do?

safari is at version 85.5 and installing it over the smoothstripes theme has not caused any problems so far.

I've installed the new Update.. everything appears fine. No problems on my end.
About Safari says it's version 1.0(v85)
is that correct ? I thought I read somewhere someone ended up with v85.5 ?

I assume you are either an ADC member or have recently received a new AlBook or iMac. If it's the former, you probably know that they renamed 10.2.7 for some reason. (Note that I'm not referring to "10.2.7 (G5)".).
What instability are you seeing with 10.2.8? I would hope there haven't been any regressions from the seeds...
WM (not an ADC member, but my dad's 15" AlBook just shipped!)

"You went from lowering your battery life to (buying) and replacing your battery in less then 20 minutes!"
Talk about jumping the gun!

Not available from the downloads page - what if you're behind a firewall? Software Update hasn't worked from inside our corporate firewall in like, forever.

Thanks for the heads up.
I'm glad I didn't update then. Is the transparent dock something that you can re-apply? Apple should really offer the transparency preference to the dock, as well with other items, example: Like it is in the terminal. I am concerned about this with panther. I won't upgrade until I know the transparent dock works in that.
