ADB keyboards?

My ADB keyboard (you know, the good old classic Apple ones) doesn't seem to work anymore. I have a Blue and White G3, so I dug out the miniature USB keyboard that came with it, and that works fine. By the way, I can start up my computer from the keyboard using the power key, but no other keyboard input works after I get to the login window.

Then again, I got a kernel panic while Software Update was installing 10.3.5, so maybe it didn't complete the install correctly (although I haven't had any other trouble so far). I'm hoping it was during the optimization step. The kernel panic was not because of the install, I was messing around in my computer, don't ask, I know I was being stupid.

Maybe I can use the Combo updater to reinstall 10.3.5 once it comes out, and I'll keep you updated as to whether my problem is fixed.

The only real change was the addition of AAC support, and the update menu item that 4.0 also received.

It does feed into my evil conspiracy theory that Apple are going to bring out a new product based on the iPod platform -- not necessarily an iPod per se, but a somewhat larger thingy with a color screen that can work with iPhoto and fill in the missing remote control functionality for AirTunes. I think it will be something that an iPod can slide into, one would think that there must be some purpose behind the extra functions in the mini and 4G chipsets.

Thanks, KC, Bleachthru, iMeowbot, for setting me straight on iPhoto... :)

Hmmm...iPainting. Hang it on the wall, use AirTunes to push art to it. Just needs a way to keep it powered for relatively long periods of times, since a power supply is kinda a PITA. :D

Actually, when one of the Mac magazines had that how to, to make such a thing using an old laptop, I was a little tempted....Maybe I should just score an old Win 15" laptop and put it to some good use. ;)

Yep...

Yea, I've also installed flawlessly on a G4 iBook. I haven't had much of a chance to tinker with it, but so far I've noticed a MUCH faster and stable wireless network connection with my PC (my 2 macs have always been friendly, but that 3rd guy...). Off to game! I'll be back with an update on any performance drops/increases. Be brave! It's safe! :D

Gaming!

Woo hoo!! Here I am again with a small notification... Warcraft 3 is faster! I haven't ran any fps benchmarks (how would I do this on a mac anyways?), but I can tell you that I've been playing this on my iBook for months now, and I can DEFINITELY notice a difference... The cursor moves smoother, and units don't choke up the game as much... What else is there to look for? Off to Medal of Honor and Rainbow Six for more (hopefully) surprises. I'll be back! ;)

updated on my pb 1,33 Ghz and all seems fine, no extra permissions to repair but I also do not see anything changed... Will do some more testing later on though...

jumping in head first

I'm installing 10.3.5 as I type this. I like to live on the wild side! I'm sure it won't cripple my machine.

Unlike the XP updates on my PeeCee. Down for a week.

Medal of Honor

On average, when outside, on my iBook (see sig), I get anywhere from 20-30 fps running at high quality, 1024x768, and around 40-50 fps when inside. I don't have any numbers from versions prior to the update, but I'm quite positive they weren't that high... It just FEELS smoother :D

(Anybody else have any thoughts concerning gaming performance? Possibly with more credible evidence?)

Hehe maybe I should take your post as a sign...I'm downloading Win XP SP2 from Microsoft's TechNet site as I write this. Maybe I should wait a while

It's always good to see an update, but I still think I'll wait a few days before I go ahead and install it (if I can control myself, that is). I'm a bit disappointed that the update wasn't as exciting as some of the appleinsider rumors suggested it would be, though.

speed improved

I just installed the update on me 600 mhz G3 iMac w/640 RAM. then I ran Xbench. I scored 49.37-thats about four points better than my previous score. :D I would have done better had I optimized my HD; the hard disk section scored considerabley lower than last test

Just Fine

I installed it on my 1.2 ghz G4 iBook w/ 768 mb RAM, and have had no problems. For all you waiting, I think it is now safe to download it. I know you are all worried after iPhoto 4.0.2, but we can't be scared forever. Apple came out w/ 4.0.3, whhich fixed the problem, within a week. I personally never had any problems w/ 4.0.2, but I know a lot of people did. My system now feels a lot faster w/ 10.3.5, and my wireless signal seems a little more stable. I would say all is good, and it is now safe to install.

Standalone

My SWU says I can use the 23MB "delta" download as Apple calls it. Can anyone think of a way I can download this smaller version as a standalone at all, so I can download it at work instead of my connection at home (therefore saving 2.3% of my monthly allowance)? Then again, if I'm using work's bandwidth, I might as well get the whole combo enchilada, shouldn't I?

BTW, what's this about XP SP2? When was that released? That's big news...finally...

My wife updated her 15" PowerBook G4. She says that it is running great. No problems noticed.

One more iBook G4/800 (12"), updated no probs. Anyone catch what's new, if anything, in Mail? GRRR, I still have that stupid junk mail folder problem where I get phantom junk mails (the drawer icons says JUNK (4) but there are no messages in the folder)....

i updated and it xbenched two points higher from 115 to 117. I have a 12" 60gb hd 256 ram 1.33ghz powerbook. What is xbench scaled on? Like whats the highest and whats the lowest? Other than that I dont notice any other differences.

I don't think it's available to the general public yet. I'm downloading it through my MS Rechnet account. It's 266 megs! It's the full network install. It says on their website that there will be a smaller download available through Windows Update shortly, and that it'll be much smaller.

But anyway...kudos to Apple on their update. Seems like with every update, my computers run faster and faster!

my wireless signal was at is fluctuating between three bars and two bars. It used to just stay at two.
