finally, my mic works

Yes! It's about time.

My internal mic finally works again. Lotsa iBook dual usb users were having problems with this. Just installed and we're back to long distance audio iChat with the folks! woohoo

Bye bye LD bills...

There was no iPhoto 3, Apple went straight to iPhoto 4, with iLife, from the free iPhoto 2. I have often wondered what happened to to iPhoto 3.

Then, the grey apple turned into a grey "do not enter sign". Held the power then rebooted. Same thing. Opened the cd tray with a pin and stared with it open, worked fine... weird.
Woah, I've never seen that sign on a startup before. Has anyone else seen that?? Is this supposed to be the new version of the "broken folder" icon?Weird it worked with the cd tray open...

this icon appears most often when an install goes wrong (at least, that's the only time I've ever seen it)

DVD Radeon 9800 pro retail problems fixed

After the ATI hotfix for 10.3.3, there was no solution for the blocky artifacts in 10.3.4 for retail 9800pro cards and Apple DVD player. This update appears to have fixed the problem. Super stoked!

Ok so did anyone else mac crash straight after downloading the update?! Cause I got the scary grey screen with the restart button!!! Scared the hell out of me. So restarted, took a little longer to wake the baby up, but all seems fine now. Phew! Those updates always scare me, but I'll keep doing it, like drinking too much.

iPhoto 3 was released with iLife '04, with 4 and beyond as free upgrades to 3 but not 2
I don't recall there ever being a version 3 of iPhoto. I remember version 1(.1.1), version 2, and then the jump to version 4 upon the release of iLife '04.

No iSync love for my Motorola V600.

...wanders off to wait for 10.3.6

Yeah, just noticed that, myself...What the hell is going on Apple? I thought you and Motorola were best of buds now, all of a sudden. Don't you want to get on their good side and actually support the popular phones?

I did the updates: iPhoto, OS X, and the Security patch. All is going well. I have an 800-MHZ iBook G3. The only thing that sucks is that my uptime was at 35 days. Oh, well...

Have fun... Tony.

ahem... what is "uptime", and why is it important?

Installed and no problems on a rev. C 12" PB. Download was 43MB for .5 and 5MB for the PNG fix.

So what's the deal with iPhoto 2.0.1? Strange to release an ugprade now, no?
The only real change was the addition of AAC support, and the update menu item that 4.0 also received.

It does feed into my evil conspiracy theory that Apple are going to bring out a new product based on the iPod platform -- not necessarily an iPod per se, but a somewhat larger thingy with a color screen that can work with iPhoto and fill in the missing remote control functionality for AirTunes. I think it will be something that an iPod can slide into, one would think that there must be some purpose behind the extra functions in the mini and 4G chipsets.

Uptime means the period in which your computer has been on and has not been rebooted or shut down. It's important to those with some competitive desire to see how long they can keep their computer on, even if it means putting it to sleep, which is usually a bad idea, since more and more problems build up on your machine quicker unless you restart it. It's a pointless and unimportant competition to me.

The only reason I see uptime being seriously important is if your computer is a network or server host.

Uptime is how long you have been up and running. You get it by typing "uptime" in the terminal (I think).

and iMeowBot: I know I'm a bit late, but congrats on the 'tar.

Uptime is the time (usually days) that your computer has been going without shutting down (usually because of a crash). Now, because I have a powerbook, I usually have a 1-2 day uptime. DARN YOU COMAS   .

Does anyone know a solution to that? Or did they fix it in 10.3.5? I'm going to restart for the update now, and will give my report.

EDIT: Man, I'm slow. 2 people posted an answer ahead of me. Oh well, maybe I should've registered months ago

If I understood you correctly, I beleive you got what is called a kernal panic. I got that a couple times in the past, and the first time scared the heck out of me!

I think 10.3.5 is the beginning. I'm hoping that iSync 1.5 comes tomorrow with support for my Motorola v710.
