Addresses an issue in which a PowerBook G4 computer would, on rare occasion, wake from sleep with a black screen and not respond to any keyboard, mouse, or trackpad input.

Oh, they relesse the update the DAY after that happens to me and my english paper is gone.
 O well, at least it's fixed. Maby iPhoto will boot up faster too.

At last installed the update on my Powerbook and PowerMac MDD, no problems and fixed the slow to load mail and iPhoto issue that I have had ever since the 10.3.7 update. Safari appears to load more quickly as well.

Well looks like it is time to kiss my ibook's uptime bye bye.

Uptime: 55 days, 21:29

I haven't restarted once since 10.3.7 update, so its safe to say it was exactly 56 days ago pretty much...

Is this update supposed to fix PCI quartz extreme?

Enhancements, according to Apple...
I know that it's not explicitly listed in Apple's list of updates, but does anyone know (yet) if this fixes the problems that the 10.3.7 update introduced for Myst IV: Revelation? I've been holding off on buying that game until Apple or Ubisoft came up with a solution.

I guess I'll wait a couple of days, as usual
Once I was very glad I waited.

Whatever - it's not like there's ever been any major problems. Even the "infamous" 10.2.7 version A didn't really cause any problems for me. I'm not saying you shouldn't wait - just that there's no real reason to wait.

Addresses "jumping cursor" issues that might occur when using your portable computer's trackpad with your thumb, side of thumb, or a "flat" finger.
It wasn't just my iBook and/or my sloppy trackpadding (is that even a word)?

Hopefully they also have tweeked the system a bit better. The machine (processor) has become slightly warmer for each iteration of 10.3. Or, again, is that just me?

DL finished, optimizing...

Its really funny to me that WoW is big enough that there's an OS update which specifically mentions improving performance on that one game as an addressed issue. Lalalala, that's random. But it made me smile, even though I don't play Warcraft.

Could be the last...

..."number" update before Tiger. We'll have to see if anything gets seeded to the developers in the next month or so. I'll be sad to see Panther go, it has been really good to me, but the prospect of Tiger being that much closer is exciting.

Doesn't look like this update did anything for Dual-Layer DVD support with disc burning - If I had to guess, I'd say that native support for dual-layer drives will only come with 10.4... I've been holding off on installing PatchBurn to see if this feature will get added, but alas, looks like it's time to install...

two-finger scrolling

I've heard a few rum's that two-finger scrolling is a possibility on the older PBs, and I was kind of hoping it might be true with this update... :(

Or 10.3.10, or 10.3.11...

just see it now ..Tiger is going to be late ,shipping macworld 06 so we have 10.3.21..22...23....zzzzzzzzzz lol nope i'm sure apple would not do that to us 1-2 more security updates running in a under a meg each then Tiger get's unleashed gotta happen ;)

The 27 meg version includes security updates that came out after the release of 10.3.7...it's kinda a combo-updater in itself, in that sense. Since when you download the single file, you don't have SWU to tell what you do and don't need, you have to get all those pieces.

That just got me thinking that you could have meant (by rum's) rumors or rumblings...but it doesn't matter since both options make sense! I don't see any reason why two-finger scrolling couldn't be implemented on older PowerBooks, unless Apple made hardware changes to the trackpad in the latest revision...
