I've just been playing around with the iBook running 10.4.3.

The speed of Spotlight is just incredible - it's literally as fast as the PowerMacs I've played with at the Apple Store. Everything is much more snappy (but I find that with every update - probably just placebo).

The only problem I've run into is that Saft 8.1.6 doesn't work with Safari 2.0.2. But passing the Acid2 test is very cool - now I have another thing to gloat about to Windows users :D

Darn it, after 52.3MB my download CRAWLS from 2 minutes remaining to 4 hours remaining, goes up once and a while (the MB's done) and then network errors out after a while. This is on 3 diff. internet connections. :(:(

sorry mate, this update is just for tiger(10.4), not panther (10.3).
...I installed and it works flawlessly. actually haven't had any problems with tiger yet (touches wood). :)

Nikon D2X Camera RAW Now Supported

After updating to 10.4.3, iPhoto, Preview, and Finder now support Nikon D2X NEF (Nikon's version of Camera RAW) images.

Must be a software update error. Just downloaded it form Apple's site, took 3 minutes at 580kb/s :D.

iDVD DL support works!

My DVR-109 is now listed as Apple Supported/Shipped and the DL option in the project settings is now available.

I cannt go to this site with safari!!!

i only get the main ad!!

anyone eles got this bug???
i think its the new update cuz all my other browsers can go to gamespot~!

Works fine for me in Safari.

I installed the 10.4.3 Combo Update a couple of hours ago. It started up fast after the update and so far, everything is great.

Spotlight searches in the finder are MUCH faster, I've noticed. Also, everything else feels snappier.

I know. I was noting that I saw the same description of the architecture in the 'about this computer' pane under 10.3

I voted negative on this post and I'm an Apple fan boy from way back. Apple should never have released something as buggy as Tiger was. Yes I know some people never had any issues, but I was not one of those people, nor were many people I know.

I still would prefer Tiger to Windows, and it is infinitely less buggy. It's also a lot better than the bad ol' OS 9 days, but after the release of 10.1 Mac fans began expeccting better. Maybe we're just spoiled.

I did wait it out for 10.4.3 without any BIG hassles, but Leopard really has to be better than this to thrash XP and one day (who knows when, likely after Leopard) Vista/Longhorn. It's not enough to simply be better. Apple has to continue to embarrass Microsoft as they have for the past .

David:cool:

I could not agree more with this post.

Apple needs to leap-frog OS X to stay relevant in 10.5

Longhorn is a rip-off of OS X. If Apple does not do some amazingly innovative things with Leopard, people will walk in the Apple store and say, "Hey, that looks just like Vista." Just with less software, compatibility, cost, etc.

I think we will all be happy when the Tiger chapter is closed. I just hope Apple understands what is at stake with 10.5 and doesn't repeat the Tiger mistakes.

hmm, doesn't fix the bug with Mail where if you set it as a start-up item with Hide ticked, it still appears unhidden.

I opened a radar report for that on the Apple bug tracker, and it was still open a few days ago.

I guess that bug didn't make the cut.

Software Rollout

Does anyone know why the update isn't showing up in my software update?

I believe that Apple does a staged software update rollout so that their servers do not get overloaded.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It doesn't fix the glitch where Rev. B PM 1.8Ghz freeze after 2 hours of use and opening a quicktime movie! NOOOOOOO! Calling up apple. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Pissed.... ... . .. ... . NOOOOOOOOO! Trading up for a better one and paying the difference. I hope
NOOOOOO!

This is pathetic of Apple not to fix.

I hope to God they fixed the Lookupd problem in the late generation iBooks and new PowerBooks with over 1 meg of memory.

Anyone know is this has been fixed?
