Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Shipping

Still preparing...

It has been preparing all day. I checked so many times I think I messed something up and had to delete the most recent cookies. I'm in New Orleans and think it ships out of memphis so I may be "preparing" another day or two. I better start archiving now because I want a clean install from all the junk I've tried to install in my computer in the past year.




edit: Yeah lol, page 16 punks!
 
I just talked to Apple Customer Service and they told me that once "Preparing Shipment" appears, it will ship out within 12 to 24 hours.

In my case, that would probably be tomorrow.

The online store still lists my status as "Processing Order" but when I called Apple the agent said that it was infact "Preparing Shipment" but because of all the trafic their site is getting it is taking longer than usual for the order statuses to get updated. So for all of you that ordered it early and still have the "processing order" status you might try calling them, chances are that the status just has not updated yet.

P.S. she said that the delivery date was set for 4/28...one day prior to the offical release date.

You are right, mine still says processing, but if I go into order details, it lists it as coming 4/28, a day early. WOOT!!

I wanted the edu price too, so I ordered it online, but you can be sure I'll be at the Apple store on Friday.
 
I would call and ask about my status but they must be getting hammered from customers so I think I won't I mean whats a few days right?


Then again if its not delivered by fri at 2:30pm I won't get it till mon and that would piss me off

I agree. I'd be annoyed as well if I'd have to wait until Monday of next week...
 
Mine is still "Open" :(. I am in the UK.
Has anyone's status changed to Preparing Shipment in the UK? :confused:

I'm the UK and mine still says processing shipment when I check on the US site. However I was speaking to Apple this morning and they said that they are aiming for delivery on 29th you live in the UK. So its not guaranteed but that is what they are aiming for
 
2-Day shipping

Just FYI:

My 1GB iShuffle quit working, still under warranty. Used Apple's on-line warranty process last Monday morning about 9 a.m. Eastern. The replacement unit arrived via DHL at friggin' 3:30 p.m. TUESDAY!

That's like 30-hour customer service. Does it get any better? Everything else I've ever bought from Apple came via Fed Express, and I never received anything that fast.

Of course, this wasn't a purchase, it was a warranty issue. Still, it indicated to me that:

1) Apple has warranty replacements staged around the country, and contacts the DHL regional office for pickup on day of order, making delivery possible the next.

2) Perhaps the same is being done for the Tiger packages. Maybe the "processing order" was about moving Tiger pkgs in bulk to regional staging locations where each could then be scanned as "Preparing for Shipment."

3) Looks like Apple is highly sensitive to past complaints about shipping problems. I know I never expected my iMac G5 to be delivered "in four weeks," but it was.

I read on a UK forum that they won't be shipping Tiger until Friday!

So, with the Bank Holiday weekend it will Tuesday at the earliest. :(

I really hope they are shipping for delivery on 29th.

I've just read that too, seems people are getting conflicting stories from Apple. Anyway as I said its not guaranteed its what they are aiming for.

All fingers crossed for delivery on Friday!
 
finally they are preparing mine for shipment... so hopefully today it ships and get it by thursday because I've got nothing to do that night

Processing order!... just now. but will it take more than a day to ship to me?? I hope not, 'cause that'd take me to Friday! Which would not be Thurrrrrsday.
 
Mine finally moved to "Preparing Shipment" sometime this morning. So looks like it may get to my house on Thursday. Good stuff.

Think happy thoughts. There is a major shipping hub in Harrisburg (I think) so Apple items tend to arrive next day (independent of shipping type). I have ordered items for ground at 9:00 pm and they arrive next day...

I think I feel a bout of cholera coming on... might not be able to make it in on Wednesday. :eek:

Mine has been changed to preparing shipment, too but it still says on or before 4/29.
 
Today my Tiger order changed to "Preparing Shipment" as well.

Hmmm... mine is preparing too (finally!) and says "On or before 04/28/2005"
It would be so awesome if it shipped out today!
 
They aren't going to be shipped out today. Even those of us who went to "preparing shipment" on Monday haven't shipped. They are going to ship Wednesday via 2-day service. They probably went to preparing shipment, for they are now boxed and ready to be picked up, on wednesday. Apple doesn't want us to get these early. :(

Did you order from Apple online?

What about others with U.S. order? You know people say the online order status is slow to change, so maybe someone could call Apple, and ask them, if they have the tracking number, for the order. Maybe they've shipped, and we don't know it. However, in the U.S., I just can't see them shipping until wednesday.
