Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Shipping

To all the people who already have it, one quick and reasonably pointless question. Does Preview still have that sidebar (not sure what it's called) sticking out of it? I know Mail's has disappeared, but what about other apps?

I'm writing this message form my new brillant Tiger OSX!!!!.

Spotlight is indexing at the moment.

The new mail interface is great!

Applications start faster.

No special performance increase or slowdown to report. Just like Panther.

The first start-up can be very-very long... so don't panic after installation.

Need more time to report real impressions.
 
It says that 12-24 hours after the pakagde has shipped, the shipping info will be available. Mine left origin around 8:40 but I didn't get e-mail till 00:20 that is like 4 hours later.

Strange numbers for TNT consignments.

I put in my tracking number from the Apple website. This number is in the format 8410xxxxxxx. I've tried using this number as both the consignment number and the reference number on the TNT website and both times it says it cannot be found. I've tried both the tnt.com and tnt.co.uk websites.

Someone suggested that it may be the browser that I'm using - but I've now tried IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera so I don't think it is the browser.

I guess I just need to wait.

Interestingly I went to http://www.tnt.com/country/en_gb.html and put my consignment number into the form there and it worked. Though it cropped the last three digits off the Apple quoted number.
 
Tiger in Las Vegas

Tiger arrived at FedEx location in LV at 6:56AM. I don't know if that is early enough to get it on a truck for delivery today or not. I would much rather have Apple release the iMac specs and pricing today and get Tiger tomorrow!
 
Here's one more...

I just got an e-mail telling me that it shipped on the 27th via FedEx 2 day, which means I will have it tomorrow morning!!! Come on, get here!
 
Mine has shipped, however it says that it is coming on May 2nd!!!! I ordered it on the 25th one day before the deadline for per-orders. It is 2-day and it supposedly shipped on the 27th. I hoping it will come Friday but I have my doubts.
 
Out for Delivery!

I too had been tracking my Tiger shipment and a quick check of the FedEx site it now says out for delivery! Yipee... I know what I'll be doing this afternoon after work!!!!! I even brought my Powerbook to work to back up everything. A fresh install is just hours away.... sweet...

Mine shipped yesturday from Ontario, CA, and this morning at 8:14 am, it arrived at the FedEx station in my town, but the estimated delivery says friday, 4/29; hoping I get it today.

I ordered the morning of the first day possible and mine still says "Preparing Shipment". Apple says I will get it tomorrow but if/when I get my tracking number and it says delivery on the 2nd... I am going to be pissed off big time. I won't even be in town to get it then!

I hear ya. I'm out here in Vancouver Canada and still with a "Preparing Shipment" notice. It would be nice to get a tracking number, just to know it is not in the wearhouse and it is in FedEx's hands. :)

Since I am going to be gone for 2 weeks, it will get delivered a couple times, no one will be here to get it and then it will be sent back (unless I get it by tomorrow). It has put me in a position to not have it for a couple weeks or go to the apple store tomorrow and buy another copy and wait for apple to refund this one...

... it just boggles my mind how people who have waited until the last minute to order have gotten them or will get them today / tomorrow. I just can't wrap my head around how that works!

Hey you guys this is kinda off topic, but not really, but at the CompUSA Tiger World Premiere; do you think they will give out the same memoribilia (ie dogtags for panther) as the Apple retail stores? :confused:
