They do a verification charge (not a real charge) for big ticket items before shipment but they don't charge until shipment (it maybe sitting on the dock to be picked up by the shipper for a short while).

That is true, but it is guaranteed delivered by the 29th, least thats what the email told me. Meaning you will have it on or before the 29th. ;)
 
I'm excited about this but am going to wait until the new Final Cut Suite ships so I can do a complete erase and install and have all things new. That should give everyone some time to help Apple work out some bugs.

Is that a full "verifying that you have enough money to cover the transaction" charge, are a couple dollars to ensure the account is open.

Well I think it depends on the amount but I recall a full verification charge for a PowerMac I bough a couple of years back (not all card vendors list those but mine does via their online account site). Basically a reservation but not the actual charge.

I am sure a link exists on the Apple store about this... just cannot quickly find it.

MacMall **cked it all up. Checked my ups tracking page and they turned my order around and sent it back.

Likely the intent is that the shippers have the product but are supposed to hold delivery until the 29th, the day of release.

Not if the translucency was set to 10-15%...and you throw your widgets onto your second monitor.

The reason is pretty simple: if something on a dashboard widget changes, you can't see it until you switch to the dashboard.

That's not a dashboard anymore, that's, well, something else...a desk accessory layer that's invisible most of the time.

I purchased mine thru the edu store and mine says by 28th shipping, HOWEVER ground delivery?!?!? WTP?

Server Error but not with IE

Well, I am getting the same server error as many of you... BUT when I access it with IE on my Mac I get in just fine no server error... Now this is odd.. Can someone else verify this? Or is it just me? :confused:
 
When I ordered, it said delivery on or before the 28th.

Now it says shipping on or before the 28th! That's not fair that they changed it like that!

I guess they thought I wouldn't notice...

I am contemplating above action if new hardware is not released on Tuesday.
Also my plumbing has been backed up since NAB. The first time this happenned was leading up to WWDC 2003. Within 5 minutes of the G5s being announced, I had total relief.

Mine says shipping by 28th with 2 day shipping.

No I think they are just annoyed that they aren't one of the people who is getting it already or they planned to buy on the first day of store sales and now they're worse off than people who pre-ordered. Personally I'm annoyed because Amazon is not shipping early at least yet.
 
OKAY! Just got word that the distrobution center for software is in PA. So, makes sense mine is only to be shipped ground. Does this make sense with everyone else's orders?
 
Mine says "Processing Order," but it has said that since at least yesterday (finally got the order number after placing it days ago).
