Aghahhhh!!! Stop teasing us. Haha Why am I so excited about a little incremental update?

icons

Another thing I wish this seed/update would include is the proper recognition of adobe file types. Currently leopard has to be reset to grab the correct icon. It just looks like crap and is annoying to see .ai files show up as generic .PDF documents, even with the .ai extension.

On a side note, is there a quick way to switch documents from preview mode to just the affiliated programs icon?

Because you know as well as we do its like slow leaking bits of candy to a hyper-hypo. New features unlocked give us the power to pull mommies car home.

Not heard of it? Hell, I've talked to those supposed "Geniuses." They're geek squad in black shirts. You'd get as much help with your mac talking to them as you would talking to the bag boy at your local grocery store.

Agree. The use of the word 'Genius' has gotten a little loose over there at the local Apple store.

I'll bet most of us who regular MacRumors forums etc could easily outsmart most 'geniuses' at the apple stores. I know I could.

My guess: 8% can, 90% think they can and the other 2% work at the Genius Bar.

Can you put a ruler banner that shows how many inches closer to macs the 10.5.2 is at the current moment? Make it a dynamic banner.

Huh? Nobody knows for sure when the actual release will be (well, a select few do). It was rumored for today, but that is basically it.

RAW files now!

Yeah, and people who have the latest high end cameras (i.e., Nikon D3, D300) need to be able to see their photographs and they won't be able to do that until this update is made available.

Thats not Apple's fault. Real Apple fans move closer into the protective aura of the nearest Apple Store.

There are some that fear the increased possibility of diseases in the long run from living inside the Reality Distortion Field that is projected from the Apple Stores, so we move outside it's range.

I think people are having problems with printers and disks connected directly to the AEBS. Like you, I have no problems backing up two computers to a USB disk hosted by another Mac. It seems the problems lie with the AEBS-USB link.

There's obviously something very specific to either certain chipsets or certain routers (I know, it isn't supposed to matter!)

I back up two macs to a third mac over wifi (using Time Machine) with no issues whatsoever, ever. My wifi works flawlessly (better than under Tiger.)

I'm using two AEBS to create my wireless network and I have around 20 devices (g or n) connected to it.

I keep reading all these issues people are having and I can't believe I'm simply lucky (there's no precedent for that with me and technology!) So I wonder if there's any data out there for the exact nature of the setup people with wifi issues have, versus those who don't.

Very odd!

I've heard that this indeed will be a part of the new update -- hooray! Been waiting since late November for this! In the meantime I"ve been either shooting in jpg and post-processing in Aperture or shooting in RAW and post-processing in CS3. I will be SOOOO happy when I can finally PP my RAW D3 and D300 images in Aperture!

<Clicks on "Software Update" -- is it here yet?>

Saturday release unlikely

Huh? Nobody knows for sure when the actual release will be (well, a select few do). It was rumored for today, but that is basically it.

It's rather unlikely that Apple will push an update a day after a build. It's also rather unlikely that they will push an update on a Saturday.

I'd be absolutely shocked if this was released before Monday at the earliest.

ffakr

if im not mistaken I could swear ive seen a Saturday release or two
It might need a finishing touch tonight but everyone goes home;
Im sure some staff work at APPLE on weekends so that finishing touch would go in and then Viola! -a Saturday release of 10.5.2

How about iChat and Safari that don't SUCK

God, these apps on Leopard are the flakiest apps I've used in years. The constant crashing (yes, clean loads and wiped prefs) of these two apps is ridiculous (and it's only these two apps, so it's not my system).

Have there been any changes made to the Leopard firewall ?

Then you aren't a true Apple fan. If you were, you'd know that those aren't diseases; they're cures!

Let's hope they test it adequately and release it when it is ready so we don't have this problem next month :)

IF the reason I'm waiting for my Mac Pro with the 8800GT is this damn update, I hope they just release it NOW and fix it later, so I can finally get my computer.. :p

I'm kinda with you. Let's hope they already tested it adequately and release it 'cause it's ready today. Then we won't have this problem next month. :D

I thought it was going to be today... LOL

I don't know why my Safari is having some problems these days: either unexpectedly quit, or start burning CPU which I can tell when the fans start screaming and stop after I quit Safari.
