Any updates to 10.5 available from Apple's update service yet?

Just the one:

QS worsk, but the plugins (Adress book etc.) won't. So you can only use it as application launcher for now. But it's open source now so it won't be long until it's fully operational in Leopard.

Actually, there's already a new version of Quicksilver that fully works in Leopard. I have all the plugins downloading, installing and working here. Just run update from inside QS prefs.

Call me crazy, but couldn't Apple detect some of the people using Leopard by watching the new .mac sync features and who's tapped into them early? They have your name and address etc. all right there with the subscription.

Worth chancing it for playing 2 days early?

Ya. Lets go out of our way to get users who spend an extra 100 a year on us... Brilliant.

Nooooo! I may hold of installation of 10.5 then!

I wonder what feature most people are going to purchase Leopard for? For me, it's a tossup between Mail and Time Machine.

My top four reasons for buying are: 1) Spaces, 2) iChat, 3) Time Machine, 4) Mail...and the list goes on

But if all Leopard had was a new dock and finder...I honestly would still buy it! :D

Here's to the one percent!!!

To be honest with you, at this stage, I've no love for a company that refuses to charge equally around the world for a product. why does America pay so much less then anywhere else? It's not as if they have any translation costs or anything to Ireland is it??? Apple produce great software and superb hardware but I'm not willing to pay more then my fair share for something.

exchange rates: look into it

Any1 on leopard having airport issues? My connection seems to be dropping lately, but then is back up in seconds. Also when I click the airport icon in the menu bar, it's not showing the other wireless connections that may be available..

If Leopard makes everything run snappier then I won't need to upgrade from my iMac G5 2.1 20" to a new iMac 2.8 Intel Duo Core Extreme 24" for a while.

I want to wait until all the hardware bugs are worked out in those aluminum case models.

I hope to see that the mail enhancements are significant enough to keep me from using Office 2008 when it comes out for Mac. Entourage would have had my emails a long time ago if it was not for rosetta emulation.

leopard ibook g4

i just installed on an Ibook G4 1.2 with 768gb ram and it is a mess. Havn't installed anything, but the beachball is a regular occurrence. I'm waiting to get my MBP from apple, but it should run alright on there, but to reiterate it is a mess on a g4.

if you JUST installed it, that is because it is indexing spotlight and allocating the majority of your resources to doing that first

Time Machine no go on NAS drives?

I hope this is wrong. Mossy just said it only works on drives connected to Mac machines running Leopard? So we can't use Time Machine on Network mounted drives at work? Or NAS drives on Windows centric environments?

The final version wouldn't have a build number as seen in the photo would it?

It does, just like Tiger. Just go to the About window and click the version number under the large 'Mac OS X' (like: 10.4.11), and you'll see the build number. Click once again, and you'll see your serial number.

Retail Box Proof Is Needed

We need photos of the shipping box, the retail box, the DVD jacket, the literature, the DVD(s) included - not screen shots. Screen shots can be done by any old ADC member. We Are looking for proof the retail box has reached anyone. So far we only have proof from Germany.

Alright I just haven't ever noticed it before. :) I do want to see some box shots though. I can't wait!!!

Edit: Cool! I tried it and it does reveal the build number. Thanks for the info!

not sure if anyone pointed this out .....but in the mossberg review he stated:
"I was still able to run Windows XP via Fusion. "

personally that is huge considering everything i could find from VMware was that they have yet to announce leapord compatibility!!!

SWEET!
