Am I the only one excited about the new wallpaper? :p

I like it better than Leopard's Aurora.

The MobileMe iDisk icon was blue during the keynote, rather than the usual purple (although on Apple's website it's purple).

Really like the new price points!!! :D

Hope they bring out a max box set for $69 in september (for leopard users)
fingers crossed!

OpenCL won't work with my GMA 950.

I guess there's a reason Apple's only charging $29 for it.

Of course, why wouldn't it? If it wouldn't it would be a complete scatstorm

Because of all the fuss about 64-bit, I thought that 32-bit Intel processors may not be supported ... I'm really glad that they are though ! :D

so far so good. Loving the price of SL and all the "refinements" but I was really hoping for a comparison using Grand Central. I wanted to see a non-multi-threaded app being used on an Octo-core MP running Leopard, and then the same running with SL and be blown away.

No bluray support. XP/Vista/7 support bluray, what's up with that?

This is of no real significance in my opinion. Although I supposes there are plenty who still watch movies on their computer. I want to watch Blu Ray on my big screen HD TV and current HD content for the Apple TV looks pretty amazing. Be even better if they take it up to 1080p.

However, it would be nice to be able to burn HD video to a blu ray disc on your Mac.

Can't imagine through itunes. It would be a huge file to download. It will have to come on a disk.

even if it was a download (which it isn't), where does iTunes come into software upgrades for your mac. thats what the "Software Update" button from the Apple menu is for.

Hmmm No marble. I actually think Marble will appear in Snow Leopard just not at the initial release. I've noticed in Safari 4 the interface has changed and new apps liek iLife 09 and Quicktime X the interface is clearly not Aqua. I think Marble is going to come over time not instantly

Well I'm living in a student room so can't fit in HDTVs and stuff. I just want to watch bluray movies on my 24" imac without having to boot up into windows every time.

Every cheap laptop has a bluray drive in it with support to play movies. Wouldn't take much for apple to add software support surely?

For $29, you bet your boots I am going with SL when it comes out!
Right now I'm using Safari 3.2.3. I think I read SL will have Safari 4 bundled with it. Can anyone confirm this? I know I could go download Safari 4 right now, but if it's bundled with SL, I think I'll just wait till then to get it.
Thanks for any info!
Morod

Why would you wait to install Safari 4? It will be exactly the same with Leopard and SL.

Clean Install

If you want to wipe your HDD and install Snow Leopard on a clean drive, you insert the SnowLeopard upgrade DVD, begin installing. It won't find Leopard so it'll ask you for the Leopard DVD. Insert it to verify, it'll eject it and ask to re-insert the SnowLeopard DVD.... and proceed the installation as usual.

... at least that's how I think it will work. :D

I know it is, if you followed the whole thread you would see I was responding to another poster.

The new contextual menu for the Dock looks iMovie like as well.

i am really excited about this. i really hope it isnt sold out by the time i can get to the apple store. i bet the upgrade version will work similar to the way windows works (on clean machine), if you have an upgrade disk, it will prompt for the disk of the previous version, you put it in, it checks it and then continues with the install

i am siked

Snow Leopard improves the reliability of ejecting discs and external drives, and you can select text in PDFs! Squeeeee! Sign me up! :D

Wow, and to think, I was ready to pay $129.

$29 is a remarkable price and I'll be at the :apple: Store with my money day one :)

So, any moronic comments on how "expensive" Apple products are? What is MS doing now, offering its ridiculous Vista patch fix for free? We already have the most advanced OS in the world...for 29 bucks, SL is just gonna widen that lead.

WINDOWS 7 IS DEAD. AND I DON'T CARE.
