Thinking ahead into the future, I would love to see them come out with the names of planets... something like "XI Mercury", or whatnot.

Mercury (the first iteration), Venus (blazing hot .2 version), Mars, Jupiter, etc.

I like this idea a lot. But how do you think Mac OS XI 11.7 Uranus would go down with the public? :D

I really need an updated Finder with cut and paste, and merge folders.

It's annoying when I do my manual backups having to overwrite all the folders because it would take too long to find each new file and copy it over into the right folder.

I kind of like the new gradient, it's a bit brighter and more contrasty than the current gradient. I do want those white borders on stacks and the Dock menus gone though. I just realized something else too; you know what would be great in Finder? Split panes. (oh, and tabs, and cut and paste)

My topmost wish is an option to turn on Windows and Linux-like mouse acceleration curve.

Additionally I would love a fix for USB mouse polling rate bug: apparently all gaming & high precision mice such as Logitech G5 in Mac OS X have that "jumping" cursor behavior when it's moved diagonally.

Finder is outdated. Why is there no option to merge folders when there is already a folder with the same name? Why does Finder apply Mac OS X default window size to every new folder I create (e.g. on desktop) instead of applying my own default one (set with option + dragging bottom right corner)?

How about a "move to..." command for the Finder?

Currently, the "copy" and "paste" routine for moving a file from one location to another is clunky. The original remains at the old location, and the user must navigate _back to_ the original location and delete it.
Quoted for truth.

Mac OS X 10.7 Rumor/Want Thread

Mac OS X Kernel through a cloud, A ton of websites have been saying this moving OS X to cloud.... i think its a really dumb idea if apple would. But i think they wont

Amen.

Without tactile feedback this thing is useless. Can you imagine how hard it would be to type on that thing without having raised/separated keys? Yeah yeah, I know, the iPhone doesn't have tactile feedback either, but you can't exactly type 120 WPM on it either.
Multitouch is a nice add-on, but people will spend less then 5% of their time using their fingers to touch the screen even with great touch technology. I've played with an HP AIO with touch and frankly you get tired of it after a few minutes. Keyboard and mouse is much more comfortable and as mentioned, speed. Multi-touch is a lousy tool for input and work. It has some applications, but keyboard and mouse in their same form will be here many years from now. Things are the way they are for a reason, they are effective.

The mouse isn't effective for some - A granny, grandpa etc know how to point. Once someone has taught computer illiterate how to use a file structure, a mouse pointer etc.

It seems to me that you confuse multitouch with touchscreens.
