Wow. I'm maimin' and killin' to get this OS NOW!! ...-_-;

This is anti-news. Having a slowed down and screwed up machine for 8 months just to be able to have iOS-looking stuff is... lame.

That's dumb - MacOS X is still mouse and keyboard driven. The scroll bar has to be wide enough to click on.

i said this before and i'll say it again. by 2015, there will be no consumer Mac. Only iOS devices.

I'm all for the minimalistic scrollbars. Now that Microsoft has completely cribbed the decade-old glassy look from OS X (they call it "Aero" instead of "Aqua" - see the innovation?), it's time to dump it and move on. Microsoft needs something new to copy for their next Windows revision.

Since I got a Magic Mouse I rarely click the scrollbar anyway.

I'd just like to see some UI consistency in 10.7. Why should scrollbars look different in iTunes than they do in Pages? They shouldn't.

Pick a look, Apple, and go with it. Please.

Quicklook in Stack

Please add quicklook functionality to stack. I use stack quite a bit, and I am tired of having to open it in finder to view the document.

I hate having to manage lots of windows with Finder. It's such a clumsy file system. Just don't throw out list view.

Que 10,000 inane comments about how OS X and iOS are converging and at least 5,000 comments worrying out load whether this will be the "revolutionary feature."

Let me save everyone a lot of wasted space:

1. They're not converging (at least in the sense that iOS will be your Mac's OS).

2. Interface changes are widely expected, but basically throwing a new coat of paint on the interface != the biggest point of what they'll talk about in 10.7.

I would LOVE this. No one uses scroll bars since you have two finger scrolling, which makes it 100 times easier to scroll. The Windows folks are still limited to scrolling by notches (as opposed to pixels) and only vertically, so it makes sense to have scroll bars there. But on OS X, there isn't really a point.

And we have inertial scrolling now, it would make sense to also have the rubber banding.

Apple is greying out everything, it's started with iTunes now there going to do it to safari. Even tho there is no real collie to safari exept the page u are looking at I tend to prefer the current scroll bars

Depends on the evo of iOS. iOS might increase to become OS11 (in essence). I'd give it a little later in the decade before the OSX is ditched and something else is put in there completely. What becomes OS XI will probably be a lot closer to iOS.

Good... the current scrollbars are looking a little old now. I just hope they are thicker than they are on iOS.

COUGH COUGH BULL SHIZ.

That is some made-up crap so that Macstories can get page views or seem relevant. I don't believe it in the least. iOS scrollbars are like that because of one reason -- screen real estate. That's it. Now, I'm not saying there might not be a big/small change in the look of the OS, but it won't go to this.

Three years waiting for something revolutionary and we get bouncy scroll bars?! wow can't ****ing wait!

iOS Scroll bars for the win inside OSX. As you can see with the attached Screenshot, this mail app I use has them. And they are very minimal, only on hover to they show up. They save about 10px of the design out of the way. A+ for this if it's true.

I like it... except that you'll still need some way to jump to specific points in really big docs. I can't imagine that we'll be losing the ability to use a traditional scroll bar entirely. It'll just be subdued since it's become less and less of a mainstay in user navigation. I rarely use a scroll bar anymore. However, when I do want/need to I'd be annoyed if I couldn't.

(All of this is presuming the rumor is true.)

Wow! Is this past-due or what! About time! And I hope the event tomorrow will go something like this... 10.7 will have the iOS UI!!!!!!!!!!!

Aqua is so 1998-ish.

iOS is a gorgeous, integrated, smooth, intuitive, elegant, unified UI. Many UI elements in OS X are not unified, ie. you don't always know what to expect (ie. iTunes buttons are now virtically alligned), and they look like a frigin funny book.

first iTunes, now :apple: wants to make everything else look GREY and dull in OSX it seems, dissapointed :( I guess the future :apple: screens are going to be Retina Display in B&W!
