My order is still Prepared for Shipment, though I also live in Columbus, OH. I just want the safari widget...

Prepared for shipment

Mine still says prepared for shipment and it's already 11:41 pacific time. :mad:I better get it tomorrow like my order promised!

Yaaaay! It's here! 8am NZ time and it's just arrived at my workplace via TNT courier! :) That hologram box really is quite attractive!

Only another 8 hours of work until I can get it home and install it... :(

Strangely enough, it was sent Global Express from Apple in Sydney, Australia. Obviously we're not worth having our own distribution centre!

One other thing I noticed was the following sticker applied to the outer parcel :

"TNT Drivers : As a one-off, and only for deliveries to private addresses if the consignee is not home, Apple authorises this to be left in a secure location and without POD signature."

They really want people to have that OS, eh?!

Finally mine says "Prepared to Ship" and I have the UTD discs! :D I called Apple and they have confirmed that I will be getting it tomorrow. So for anyone who has the UTD orders you may get yours tomorrow like the retail purchasers.

Now I'm worried I'm not going to get mine by Friday. The Purolator site now says "U.S.A. GROUND LINEHAUL" and when I called they said 3-5 business days! :(

Same deal here with the LINEHAUL.

Tomorrow will determine if an apple CSR will have to deal with a complaint, or MR will have an additional rant/rave/wtf?!? post about 10.5

:)

Will You Please Post Packaging and Unpacking Photos?

Mine Has Shipped

Shipped on Oct. 25 via Fed Ex Overnight Priority Express with delivery by 3PM on Friday. I live in Arlington, TX. I'm glad I ordered on-line instead of trying to face the crowds in the store tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

I ordered the Family Pack this lunchtime and it's now showing as having shipped but estimated delivery 30/31st Oct :(

I just called Apple; apparently a lot of people have been calling in to talk about Purolator's rather huge delay. I'd be making plans to visit a Best Buy or Apple store if you want it tomorrow because it's not probably not even in the country yet.

leopard being shipped via UPS, UK.i heard delivery can be anytime between 9am-6pm.. hope they deliver it early tmo...

I am in Montreal and the Purolator website now shows "In Transit in US" and that it was effectively shipped on the 24th. Calling Purolator the guy cannot give me more info but he admitted that it could be in Canada and be delivered tomorrow because the status could be updated just after midnight. I told Apple that if not received tomorrow I would go buy it at the brick and mortar store tomorrow and would refuse delivery, they said it was ok and put a note for an expected return.

Why the hell do companies like Apple stake their reputation in Purolator? It's worse than the postal service for on-time delivery. I just don't get it.

The thing is, I would have gladly paid an additional fee for next day FedEx service, but instead they promised next day service, and used a courier company that has almost no reputation for providing such.

Doing a search on Google for Purolator and Apple or Purolator and Dell reveals complaint upon complaint about late delivery (sometimes more than a week) with Purolator. I just don't understand why a company like Apple gives them the time of day, since it only hurts Apple's reputation as well.

I told that to the guy I spoke to at Apple, it will probably not change anything but ...

Interestingly enough, according to my tracking info at Purolator, it arrived at "TORONTO SORT CTR/CTR TRIE, ON" 5 minutes ago.

keep checking. i'm in Canada too and once it enters here, they update the status. says mine is out for shipping as of 18:35 (6:35), but i highly doubt that it's coming tonight. no biggee. i still need to do another back up :)

Called and talked to a Purolator rep today, and he said they have not received anything and the package is still in the US. So no Leopard for me today. :(
